  1. George that is a great experience and I found that at TWI at one point as well. It still doesn't change the fact that the more training we had in TWI the more responsibilities that were heaped upon us, without option of saying no if we were to remain with ministry on a civil basis. Eventually we just left TWI ........ for many reasons but mostly from watching our children and others suffer. Fearful of going to fellowship fearful of not going ..... either way fear was induced in many. Digi
  2. I didn't know someone could die so many times. I hate the injury scream because I know she knows her death is coming.
  3. George, Thats exactly what husband said when I showed him the thread, thats when I re read WWs post and told hubby I had already gone to net. Hubby said "That takes the fun out of it" LOL O Well ........ have learned Digi
  4. Wow Mark thanks for the post. Reading this newsletter leaves a bad taste in my mouth from both sides. The Brown family if having problems should not have resorted to destruction of their property. on the other hand, If church members were giving them unwanted wake up calls in the morning and trying to run there lives it makes me wander what some of there motives really were. Kind of reminds me of a group I onced belong to. Digi
  5. FORT DRUM HISTORY -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10th Mountain Division History Past 12,000 Years: Archeology of Fort Drum Fort Drum has been used as a military training site since 1908, however the Army's presence in the North Country may be traced back to the early 1800's. In 1809 a company of infantry soldiers was stationed at Sacket's Harbor to enforce the Embargo Act and control smuggling between northern New York and Canada. Following the outbreak of the War of 1812, Sackets Harbor became the center of United States Naval and military activity for the Upper St. Lawrence River Valley and Lake Ontario. During the 1830's and 40's, the Patriots War in Canada prompted a new round of military preparations and Madison Barracks became the home of artillery units. In 1908, Brigadier General Frederick Dent Grant, son of General Ulysses S. Grant, was sent here with 2,000 regulars and 8,000 militia. He found Pine Plains to be an ideal place to train troops. The following year money was allocated to purchase the land and summer training continued here through the years. The camp's first introduction to the national spotlight came in 1935 when the largest peacetime maneuvers were held on Pine Plains and surrounding farm lands. Thirty-six thousand, five hundred soldiers came from throughout the Northeast to take part in the exercise. Some soldiers traveled by trains which arrived in town every 15 minutes, coming from as far away as Buffalo and New York City. For 36 hours, young men from offices, factories, and farms marched, attacked and defended in tactical exercises on the 100-miles the Army had leased for its war games. The maneuvers were judged to be most successful and the War Department purchased another 9,000 acres of land. World War Two Expansion. With the outbreak of World War Two, the area now known as Pine Camp was selected for a major expansion and an additional 75,000 acres of land was purchased. With that purchase, 525 local families were displaced. Five entire villages were eliminated, while others were reduced from one-third to one-half their size. By Labor Day 1941, 100 tracts of land were taken over. Three thousand buildings, including 24 schools, 6 churches and a post office were abandoned. Contractors then went to work, and in a period of 10 months at a cost of $20 million, an entire city was built to house the divisions scheduled to train here. Eight hundred buildings were constructed; 240 barracks, 84 mess halls, 86 storehouses, 58 warehouses, 27 officers' quarters, 22 headquarters buildings, and 99 recreational buildings as well as guardhouses and a hospital. Construction workers paid the price, as the winter of 1941-42 was one of the coldest in North Country history. The three divisions to train at Pine Camp were General George S. Patton's 4th Armored Division (Gen. Creighton Abrams was a battalion commander here at the time), the 45th Infantry Division and the 5th Armored Division. The post also served as a prisoner of war camp. Of those prisoners who died here, one Italian and six Germans are still buried in the Sheepfold Cemetery near Remington Pond. Permanent Training Site. Pine Camp became Camp Drum in 1951, named after Lt. Gen. Hugh A. Drum who commanded the First Army during World War II. During and after the Korean Conflict a number of units were stationed and trained here to take advantage of the terrain and climate. The post was designated Fort Drum in 1974 and a permanent garrison was assigned. In April 1980, B Company, 76th Engineer Battalion (Combat Heavy) was reassigned here from Fort Meade, Md. It was followed by the rest of the battalion, less Company D, three years later. In January 1984, the Department of the Army announced it was studying selected Army posts to house a new light infantry division. On September 11, 1984, the announcement was made that Fort Drum would be the new home of the 10th Light Infantry Division. The first division troops arrived at Fort Drum on December 3, 1984 and the unit was officially activated on February 13, 1985. The name was changed to the 10th Mountain Division (LI) at that time. The division reached full strength in 1989. Between 1986 and 1992, 130 new buildings, 35 miles of roads, and 4,272 sets of family housing units were built at a cost of $1.3 billion. The mission of the 10th Mountain Division (LI) is to be manned and trained to deploy rapidly by air, sea, and land anywhere in the world, prepared to fight upon arrival and win. On June 4, 1985, the identity of a Roundout Brigade was announced. The brigade was composed of New York Army National Guard battalions from central and northern New York under the 27th Infantry Brigade. A little History really cool info about this post, couldn't help but post it Sunesis. Digi
  6. Wow guys and gals you all have me in tears. I am so proud of you too. Galen ...... My two Granduncles were both Navy and my Grandfather. They always saw the best of the world and had the greatest stories. Love the Navy. Sunesis ........ My son is happy to be in the 10th Mountain Division. Seeing as he was raised in Alaska he is fairly use to the cold. It has been the heat at Benning that has been grueiling for him. But he has kept really hydrated and never once ended up in the infirmary thank God. I read an old book sometime ago about a tale that was similar to the one you are explaining. I wonder if the book was copied from a true story. I will have to go back to the library and get that book now, it was a classic and my brain is drawing a blank on the name. My librarian will have record of what I read tho. I would love to here your fathers story in full. Anyway your Father must have been one hell of a guy to do that during wartime and with so many men it would have trampled down all snow and caused even icier conditions than what existed. You guys are really great. Digi
  7. Well I am definately out ......... went to look on the net for it, then reread WW message more carefully and found you must do it without assistance. Didn't find it on the net but thats not the point. Thanks Digi
  8. Yah I believe the devil really exists. Digi
  9. George said: I can understand this line of thought. No particular reason for me to give some of these things thought that don't follow Christiandom either. And as for the rest of it that might be considered part of christianity it would take eons of time and the originals set before you to reference back and forth with the bible in comparison, I would not be able to embrace them whole heartedly because I would never have that kind of time study it even if all materials were given to me which they never would be and I was paid to poor over it with the select few who even get to see these materials in truth. overwhelming, Digi Sorry guys I didn't realize we had a basement. If I did I thought it was the archives not ongoing forums. I hope you don't mind if I hang out now and again ...... would hate to be considered rif raf LOL
  10. WW ...... Thanks for explaining the rules so considerately .......... I didn't realize. Sorry Digi
  11. Oh you are absolutely correct Ron ........ I forgot Jump School up above and a few other things. He is following in my deceased brothers footsteps, hopefully he stops following before the deceased part. My brother was in a special forces unit part of the Airborne Rangers. He was amazing he qualified in rifle marksmanship and explosives the same day, which few do. My brother excelled at so much and his photo on the wall was always an inspiration to my son. We seldom seen Scott my brother he was always away from the time my son was little but he grew up knowing all about him and seeing all his medals and is really trying to achieve to be on the top. We are a very patriotic family ......... many service members, but Scott was the only one who had ever chosen this field in the family and now my son is going to be an airborne graduate. I really am proud it takes so much to achieve what he is achieving. Digi
  12. Okay here I go first clue "What has happened down here, is the wind has changed" any bite? Digi
  13. Wow fellow greasers this appears fun ......... I bet you have a blast in here. First time I looked at this thread. Trivia is always a gas and a laugh. What a kewl idea ........ Name that tune online. Digi
  14. HCW ..... sorry that "this day and time" gets to you, but its a phrase that has been in many more cycles than TWI. I have heard the President of the U.S. use it in a speech. Not everything in my mind revolves around TWI anylonger and I don't believe because I wrote it concerning a past situation that I am programmed by TWI at this point in my life. It truly is just a sentence to me. Now had I used "the Present Truth" I probably would have caused myself to vomit. The Mex ...... I can understand your concern and your heart. Its just so unhealthy for some to get wrapped up in things I am sending you a personal message through Grease Spots Forum with my email addy. I know a couple in Europe who I keep contact with regularly who were under CGs leadership at one time who might be willing to help you understand if understanding is your desire. Digi
  15. My son has been going thru Basic and AIT on Sand Hill at Fort Benning. He will be graduating first week in February, they are taking off 18 days for Christmas. I have been really concerned about his first stationed assignment and I just got letter from him today. His first post will be in New York at Fort Drum. Part of this is to continue his training ........ Fort Drum has great mountains and he needs to learn mountain climbing hands on, learning to set rock spikes etc..... Anyway, I am truly happy he isn't going immediately off to Iraq or something of the sorts and he is staying stateside awhile longer to enhance his training. He qualified as a marksman with sniper rifle, totally awesome. He has also qualified in many other weapons training including a 50 calibur weapon of some sorts ..... he writes down all these weapons with numbers that are odd to me ...... of course except the M16. I am so proud of him and happy he is in the states awhile longer. Just sharing my proud mom moment, Digi
  16. I truly wonder what ever happened to the man who burned should marry and then his life changes and his responsibilities change before God, he is told to take care of his wife and of course obviously if he has children he is to take care of them to. I am not saying that if you are married you are to forget God. I am just saying those whom are married and with children or even not married and have children to raise, the family and being raised properly before God is the most important in that mans/womans life. It doesn't mean take care of the business of the ministry first. Many of us with families, the marriage suffered or the children did, becase once you got to a certain level of TWI classes and training your responsibilties to TWI were more important than your kids or supporting them. I remember not being able to keep my kids in simple things like Tae Kwon Do or Violin because there classes were continually interupted or missed because of ministry business. Do not put the ministry to the side instead of .... Tae Kwon Do ...... how was that going to help move Gods word, it just took away from TWI, shoot take away from the now 3 times mandatory fellowship a week ...... plus your running fellowship in your home and working for the Limb 2 days a week. My hubby was Treasurer for Limb, I was Secretary and Book Store ......... it took away from our family. God never intended for our families to suffer ...... TWI screwed up here. They gave the working married man and woman with children or even the single man or woman with children the same responsibilities and sometimes depending on your training more responsibilities than the single person without kids. Jesus Christ took those men who were not tie down to wives and children that they were raising. Thus the reason Jesus was not married ......... his bride was the church he took care of Gods people. Man is suppose to take care of his wife like Jesus did the church. How can he do this when he is tied down to the church. Legalism in TWI ....... there practical application of the word was all off and still is. I truly feel sorry for families in TWI. Singles can make the time to do so much more for the word in the present. Parents have to raise up Gods next generation of believers and it is important to get the kids involved as much with as many other kids as you can .......... our kids were to be Gods next generation of people witnessing the truth of his words to those in there generation. Thus Jesus loved the children and did not want them sent away, they are the future. ....... I am rambling on my soapbox ..... I'll get off now Digi
  17. WW ...... I might have one on you .......... I have an original autography on my british editions ....... got a girlfriend who lives in england .... comes in quite handy. but no SPEW button either lol Raf ........ we watched the same movie if we both viewed in America. I think to much of the humor was knocked of for lack of time. Truly. Digi Also the whole Rita Skeeter incident and her being an unregistered animagous was never brought out and Hermoine catching her and putting her in a jar and taking her away to teach her a lesson. soooo much ........... I can only hope for a full dvd to come out to public ........ aaahhhhh Digi
  18. Mex Said: I believe that anyone deserves to have this abundance. All of Gods people, not just the corpse of the way being set aside as deserving this. It is being a respecter of persons. Jesus loved the children because there hearts in believing were so simple, he knew they were the future. God loves and desires the abundant life for all. The corps ........ and in the end the corps of VPWs were thought of as ignorant compared to LCMs advance class grads ....... why? I really don't know. The only thing I know is that I am tired of the titles ............ my own child believes better than I do ........ regardless of all my training, I know this in my heart. Digi
  19. In the book Madame Maxime was fond of Hagrid for a short time ...... Hagrid suspected her of only wanting inside information is how I perceived it and their relationship which took on the appearance to the reader was going towards the bit more friendly relationship until Hagrid confronted Madame Maxime about her GIANT heritage. In fact between books 4-5 they spend the summer backpacking together through the mountains ........ so I am not surprised the movie displayed over excess of fondness. Personally I am disapointed in this movie. My husband did not read the book and he found there were terrible gaps of understanding in the movie and asked me to fill him in. They left out so much that was vital to a good film. They left out much of the humor of the twins, the Thousand Bucks that Harry won from as TRI WIZARD CHAMPION and gave to the Twins Fred and George to start their joke shop, the only string attached to the money was to purchase Ron new dress robes. What happened to Winky and Dobby? Why didn't they show the Veelas at the World Quiditch Cup? or leprechauns ........ or explain that Fleurs heritage was veela, thus the reason Ron asked her to the ball in the first place, he just couldn't help himself. This movie showed all that was dark only. Didn't show a fraction of the humor of book four. I hope when the movie comes out on DVD they have an extended version like Lord of the Rings did to fill in the gaps. I hope it was just because there was way to much book to show in one movie concerning book four, and, the missing pieces and gaps are put in on the DVD. Not just deleted scenes but put into the movies just as I mentioned "Lord of the Rings" did. I really like Harry Potter series .......... own all first editions in American and Brittish versions ........ the author of the book doesn't always have control over the movies. Although after reading book 6, I wonder if the author is writing for holywood now and not for the series that she started. I was disapointed in book 6. Digi
  20. I think that Rosie got the position because that she would step down for the almighty MOG LOY upon his return to TWI after he gets his life together. Bought and paid for ........... it was like letting a robot do the job and was programmed to do as told to do until ......... nah nah nah nah nah nah ....... (jaws theme) .............. the MOGS return Digi
  21. Ron ......... you seem to be a tremendous father ............ your boy has got to love ya dearly. All that in the nick of time to get him to his meeting. My hat goes of to you, Digi
  22. The Weekend was great ............ Went shopping and out to eat .......... had a great Crab Louis. Truly was the best birthday I've had since I can remember ....... I should turn 40 more often. Lifted darling ......... you can call anytime day or night ......... even if hubby is standing gaurd over me LOL. its good to hear from you doll. .......... Have to email our new number to you or you will have to email us yours .......... I lost everything in my computer crash back in 2002 (?) I think it was. Thanks again ladies and gents .......... it was a great Birthday and stretched out from the 1st until the 4th, it was one minute after midnight when I began posting ........ so I guess its over now but it sure was fun. love ya Digi
  23. Bliss ....... great analogy It seems I spent 80 years tied to TWI but I am of course I am only half that age and TWI hasn't been around that long. But to me it seems it was an eternity. I came to the same conclusions ...... how unhealthy it was. I even tried to change the recipe, tried to find those who were marked and avoided or withdrawn and seperated from us and show our limb that they weren't homos or that we had no right getting into the financial affairs ....... that they are still Gods children and we are responsble to reach out and find even that one lost sheep. Well it finally dawned on me ........ the people who were marked and avoided weren't lost it was TWI, and TWI flat out refused to listen to reason, refused help ......... they left no open door to work with them to come to the light of the word. Jesus Christ told his disciples if people were unwilling to accept them and listen to the word they had to offer to wipe the dust off their feet and move on. So I moved on. Digi
  24. Mex, I don't believe you will truly find the answer to this question. There are many sides to all the stories and happenings. TWI in my opinion is like a Black Widow that has spun its web and tangled many in pain, suffering and despair without seeking to make amends to those it has hurt. TWI is a corporation of course so it must be those that lead this corporation who did this, the ones in charge. Its starts at the top and trickles downward. Can I ask you ......... What difference in this day and time does it make who was right and who was wrong? CG is no longer in charge of any part of TWI or Gartmor. Are you looking for him because you want to fellowship with him? Why is it you must find CG? Why is it you need to know who was right and who was wrong? Do you need to find him right in what he did for some particular reason? Or wrong for a reason? There are many of us here who were in leadership positions and many of us who hurt people along the way. I know I hurt people in the end ........ getting caught up in the fast running machine of TWI. I tried to reconcile with those I hurt asked them to forgive me. If I was to be confronted by someone in our twig/fellowship area today who told me I hurt them 8 years ago or 15 years ago, I would try my best to amend the situation. I am not hidden to those in my area and am willing to talk to anyone who needed closure. I am open to it because I care. TWI leaders and many ex TWI leaders don't avail themselves to us to find the truth because they aren't capable of standing up and being men and or women of truth and making amend to those they hurt, they lie to us and to themselves. Is CG asking you to forgive them? Is that why you are searching for the so called truth of what happened? I guess your post answers that in and of itself. You wouldn't be looking for CG if he was at your door. Mex I hope you don't spend to much of your time trying to find the truth of leadership of who was wrong and who was right .......... there is alot more to life. Bless you Digi
