  5. I actually believe physical death has no bearing or weight or matter on the word sleep or asleep in Thessolonians. I also believe physical death has little or no bearing or weight concerning the coming of the Lord. It is a process laid out in giant murals of truth laid out in Revelations. It is a process because no one can handle it all at once. Being born again is just that -Being born again.
  6. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God

  8. And what about the rest of the people Goey? I guess they all go to Hell, what about them? The coming is on an individual basis in my assessment of the scriptures. And not all at the same time. Even coming to an individual fully at the same time. But all have their beliefs, when He comes you will know that much is certain.
  9. Not to me it isn't, neither does the "coming" line up with the rest of what Jesus said and others wrote about it. The most unread book of the bible "The Revelation of Jesus Christ" 4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. 23Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before. 26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 5And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 6For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 7And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. 8For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. 9But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. 10And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 11But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. 12Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: 15And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: 16And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment. 17But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 18And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. 19For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. 20And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. 21And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: 22For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. 23But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. 24But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, 25And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. 26And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. 27And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven. 28Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: 29So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. 30Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. 31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. 33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. 34For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. 35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: 36Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. 37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. 8And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. 9But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. 10Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 12But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. 13And it shall turn to you for a testimony. 14Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: 15For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. 16And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. 18But there shall not an hair of your head perish. 19In your patience possess ye your souls. 20And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. 25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. 29And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 30When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 31So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. 32Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 33Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. And this is Paul and his companions assessment on those believers in Thessolonica 1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 3Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; 4Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 5For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 6And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost: 7So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia. 8For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. 9For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 3We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; 4So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: 5Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: 6Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 11Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 12That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  10. And the Spirit moved upon the waters. The Word-let there be Light. All God said was in his Spirit, in his life. Eve, this is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. Everything God said is real today. Not a book of history. Let us make man in our image. In the image of God created he them. And the waters parted and the dry land appeared. A great light for day and a lesser light for night. Every foul, beast and creeping thing... The herb yielding seed. Trees bearing fruit. The tree of life in the midst of the garden. Adam and Eve saw it. A tree to be desired, the knowledge of good and evil. 1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) 3That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. Jesus said I go away but will come again to you. What happened that changed Jesus the Christ. The Christ, looked for for centuries. Then there it was in Jesus. If I go not away the comforter will not come. The Christ and the Christ. They crucified Christ. Into thy hands I commend my spirit. My God thou has forsaken me. I have power to lay down my life and take it up again. God raised him from the dead, this Christ. Something changed......nothing new under the Sun. And this light is the light of men. And a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they beheld, behold two men. Why are you gazing into heaven? This Same Jesus will be back. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like fire. And began to speak as the Spirit gave them utterance. This light is the light of men. The Word in the flesh.
  11. I think it fits perfectly with the title of this thread too Abi!
  12. Evolution, Revolution Stick that tree in front of me, I'll eat it too!
  13. I don't think Adam and Eve failed. I think what happened is exactly as it should. Maybe the question could be- Why Adam and Eve?
  14. Living Abundantly According to God's Word Keys to Receiving from God's Word Read Time: 12 Minutes Knowing what is available, how to receive it and what to do with it after you've got it in the natural realm is simple. We are taught that from an early age. When we wanted to eat we just asked for it. When we wanted to fix dinner we went to the store and bought the food or obtained it from our gardens and brought it in and prepared it; however, many of us do not know what is available spiritually, let alone how to receive it or what to do with it after we've received it. Receiving spiritual things is just as easy as receiving things in the natural realm when we know how. How To Receive It After we learn what is available in God's Word we need to know how to receive it and desire it. Receiving God's promises are just as simple as receiving things in the natural realm. We have learned that an abundant life is available, so how do we receive it? It does me very little good to know that an abundant life is available if I don't know how to receive it and what to do with it after I've got it. Matthew 6 :31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? :32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. :33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. How am I to get all my needs met? Seek God first, believe His Word. Don't fret about where our next meal is to come from or where the clothes we are to wear comes from; God will provide it all. Luke 6 :38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Here is another key to living the more than abundant life. This is more than just having your needs met. Give and God shall fill up your cup with an excellent amount (not just enough to get by, good measure), pressing it down, shaking it together to settle it and get the air out, and having more put in so that it runs over. That's our God!! These are just a few of the principles that we need to know, believe and do in order to tap the resources of the more-than-abundant life that God has provided for us. God tells us in Ephesians 6 how to combat the wiles of the devil and has given us the tools to do so and what to do with the tools. God instructs us in Romans 8 on how to renew our minds and pray so that we can walk with our Father and live a lively life not consumed by the carnal things of this world. We can be told that we should pray, we can be told that we should give, and we can be told that we should renew our minds but that will never do us any good unless we are told how to receive and have the desire. This is what we need to know is how to receive the abundance in God's Word. What To Do With It After You've Got It We also need to know what to do with it after we've got it. What good is it, or what is the profit, if I receive things from God but I don't know how to use them? In the natural realm, if you knew a garden hoe was available and you obtained one but you used it as a shovel it wouldn't work very well would it? This is the same principle in the spiritual realm. You can receive the gift of God which is holy spirit and if you don't know what to do with it after you've got it you couldn't use it to its fullest potential. We must find out what to do with the things of God after we have received them. This will allow us to tap the resources of the more-than-abundant life. Here is a great example of what is available, how to receive it what to do with it after you've got it all rolled into one. I Corinthians 12 :7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. What is available: The manifestations of the spirit of God How to receive it: It is given to us when we were made whole/born again (Romans 10:9, 10) What to do with it: To use to profit withal--to be all together profitable The uses: :8 For to one [profit] is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another [profit] the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; :9 To another [profit] faith by the same Spirit; to another [profit] the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; :10 To another [profit] the working of miracles; to another [profit] prophecy; to another [profit] discerning of spirits; to another [profit] divers kinds of tongues; to another [profit] the interpretation of tongues: :11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally [his own] as he [the man] will. [has the desire to] In order to tap the resources of the more than abundant life we need the tools to do so. The nine manifestations of the holy spirit are the tools that the we use to live that more than abundant life that God has promised us. Ephesians 2 :10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. When we are born again of God's spirit we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works. This is what you do with it after you've got it. II Timothy 3 :16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [which is] instruction in righteousness: :17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. God has given us His Word directly from Him so that we can have the doctrine, reproof and correction which is instruction in right living so that we may be perfect--complete, lacking nothing--throughly furnished unto all good works. The good works do not come first. God has given us His Word and holy spirit so that we may have the ability to do the good works.
  15. God has given us a promise in His Word that we, as Christians, often times fail to manifest. In John 10:10 Jesus Christ is speaking to the religious leaders of his time. John 10 :10 . . . I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly Look around you. Do you see God's people living a more abundant life? I see some prospering but not all. Jesus Christ wasn't talking about just the religious leaders prospering or just the select few living abundantly. He was talking about the sheep--the people. We should be prospering. If not, we are missing something. Is God's Word true? Jesus Christ meant what he said and said what he meant. Let us look a little closer at this verse. Jesus Christ said, "that they might have it more abundantly." He didn't say just abundantly, He said more abundantly. Most people would be willing to live an abundant life but that is not what he said. He said more abundantly!! Listen, if Jesus Christ told the truth than there must be keys available, there must be principals available in God's Word that will instruct us and guide us into the more than abundant life. This is exactly what this series of teachings will do. The purpose of these teachings is to give you the keys to live the more abundant life that God wants for His children. In the Old Testament, when God's people adhered to His Word and did His commandments they lived abundantly. We live in a new day and a new age yet the principal remains. When we live according to the Word that is written to us we will live a life that is more than abundant; we will live a life that is not just abundant but more than abundant. Let us not limit God in our lives. I want the keys and principle that you learn here to be a safe anchorage in a sea of doubt. When storms arise you can go to God and His Word for solace and deliverance. We need to return to the keys and principles in God's Word to eliminate the confusion and doubt that surrounds us. These keys work with a mathematical exactness and scientific precision and are set so that we may know, without a shadow of a doubt, the Word that God has so graciously given us. The very first lesson we must learn is this: The greatest secret in the world today is that The Bible is the revealed Word and Will of God. This may sound simple but most people don't believe that God said what He meant and meant what He said. People will take one part of the scripture and say, "Yes, I believe that." And then they will take another verse and remark, "Well, I just find that hard to believe." The Bible is the revealed Word and Will of God. God has given us everything we need to live a more than abundant life. He has given us everything so that we can have a true and vital spiritual relationship with God and it is written in His Word. Now, we either take it all or leave it all. We have no right to take one verse and discard another. The Bible is either God's Word and God's Will from Genesis to Revelation or none of it is. This will be a stumbling block to some but for those who hunger and thirst after God's Will they will dive into God's Word and immerse themselves in His truths. Let me ask you a question. Why do Christians falter? Why do God's people have trouble when He says that abundance is ours? Jeremiah 2 :13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Who is God talking to? He says, "My people." His people. In the Old Testament it is the Children of Israel. Today it is all who call up on the name of the Lord Jesus. What have they done? They have committed two evils: they have forsaken God, the fountain of living waters, and they have hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. What is a fountain? A fountain is a unlimited supply of water. What is a cistern? A cistern is a large man-made container. It holds a limited supply of water, and if it is cracked the water will not remain. God said His people have forsaken the fountain of living water and constructed for themselves their own cisterns, their own ideologies and theories that are broken and limited. What do you want to rely on? Do you want to experience the benefits of a fountain with living water or depend on a man-made, cracked cistern that can only hold so much? I choose the fountain of living waters. So, if we have hewed out for ourselves these broken cisterns that can hold no water what is our greatest transgression? Matthew 22 :37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. :38 This is the first and great commandment. Because the first and greatest commandment is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, it is logical that our greatest transgression--our greatest sin--is to not love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. Our greatest sin is to not love the creator of the heavens and the earth that has given us life and a life that is more than abundant. Our greatest transgression is to not love God who has forgiven our trespasses and healed our diseases. Our greatest sin is to not love God with every fiber of our being. Anytime we exalt anything above God we break the first and greatest commandment. Anytime we construct our own ideologies and theologies instead of adhering to the wonderful, matchless Word of God we transgress. Hosea 4 :6a My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: . . . What destroys God's people? A lack of knowledge. Look around us today. In mankind there is a vast amount of knowledge. Man knows so much now that even the specialist have to further specialize. Is God talking about worldly knowledge? No. He is talking about the knowledge that sits like diamonds in His glorious Word. He is talking about the revealed Word and Will of God. People are destroyed because they lack an accurate knowledge of God's Word. The intention of these teachings is to bring people back to the accuracy and integrity of God's Word. When you know God's Word, when you know God's Will and are walking with Him you will have power to live a more abundant life. You will live a vibrant, prosperous life. You will have boldness and confidence where doubt and fears once reigned. God's Word is something to get excited about. Many people get excited about sports, literary greatness, science, politics, etc. I will say to you that God's Word is the greatest thing to get excited about and to herald in all the world. Jesus Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly--now this is worth talking about!! God's Word is His Will and it is up to us to recognize the integrity and accuracy of His Word and put off our man-made constructs so that we are not destroyed due to a lack of knowledge of His wonderful matchless Word. dodge that!!! lol Back to the subject Mike!
  16. that's what we do we down our lives for each other by laying our hearts out unafraid cause it don't get hurt it get's bigger nice post Kit
  17. Well, this is a little deeper then i wanted to go, but I'm the one that brought in the "if" part..lol. Do you think that that someone could have a genuine spiritual birth or birthing or awakening without knowing Jesus? History has proven that many have in various countries where they never even heard of Jesus. And besides that. In the old testament there were spiritual awakenings. I mean just look at all the prophets that we can see besides the ones we don't know about. Take Paul for instance. He called whoever knocked him off his horse Lord before he even knew who it was. Now I know this can be taken and said to mean different things. But Paul said "who art thou Lord" Confessing Jesus as Lord before he even knew who it was. Any ways back to the subject at hand. 13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are dead, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which are dead in Jesus will God bring with him. 15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are dead. 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words. I resupplied the word "sleep" with dead-meaning physical death. Now if that is done with chapter 5 then a real mess appears. To take sleep as meaning dead in the grave would mean that the dead are dead-in the grave-which I don't buy anymore. Now if this is about graveyard dead then does this include all people who have lived and died?
  18. Hi Danny, Actually I believe that to be the case with the entire Word of God from an honest and honourable heart. In other words one's understanding of a section will be just where God wants it to be at a particular time in one's life. And as it grows the understanding changes. And we change. And Oaks, Yeah I've heard that about another section of scripture too. The "if" being "since" But that was something I just bought without checking out or Did I check it out. Can't remember.
  19. Just as a side note, apparently one can be a brethren and not believe that Jesus died and rose again, since it says "if we believe". Of course if that is a correct understanding and the wording is meant that way.
  20. very well put indeed... i especially see the importance of my own sight rather then others which seems to be the overall balance to all that is written in the epistles
  21. 13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. Ok, what is asleep and why would they be in sorrow about those who are asleep?
  22. Thanks Danny, It's funny, in an effort to not be narrow minded i became narrow minded. Ha!, what a strange mind we have to mind. So I hope Goey shows up again as well as others. I know I put a lot on the table here and don't expect on the spot changes for anyone including myself. So this is something to take all the time needed or some may disregard it. Either way I would like to see some discussion on the matter cuz I'm subject to change also. As I said in the beginning of the thread more input is needed from more people. Thanks for lurking Belle! :)
  23. Thanks Danny, I do appreciate your post. And will be more flexible. Your words didn't fall on ears that can't hear. So I do get your point. So lets bring on twi's interpretation and compare it with what the scriptures say. I just changed my mind. :)
  24. btw-thanks for sticking around bliss :)
  25. compare this- with this- 2 Corinthians 12:1It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. 3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. Also caught up goes with Thessolonians.
