I was in-residence when Haary died and of course we had 24 hours of prayer. I never understood that concept. If you talk to God once, isn't that enough, 24 hours, sleep deprivation, and he died anyway. How old was Uncle Harry when he died? It seems to me that most Wierwille's don't live into old age; they're on the short end of an American's life expectancy. It's probably a combination of bad genes as well as some poor life choices along the way. As far as vpw dieing of a broken heart, I can't believe that for a minute. IMO, he died because he had cancer, now maybe he waited too long to go and see a doctor, I don't know. Maybe he was afraid the doctor would tell him he needed to lay off the drambuie for awhile!

I've been out of residence for over 30 years and I still have a recurring nightmare of having to go back in-residence. Always crying, that I just can't do it.

I listened to a couple of minutes of one of the teachings. One Word "BORING". If I had to listen to that day in and day out I would kill myself. Reminds me of when my mother-in-law came to a ROA and went to the tent for older people (whatever that was called)and heard Don Wierwille teach. She said if anyone wants to be put to sleep, they should go hear him teach. It was kind of funny, especially coming from my mother-in-law because she was an insomniac.

My heart goes out to people who lived with that kind of fear. I don't remember experiencing that. My big fear was that I might not get a nap!

"It was the fear in the heart of that woman that killed that boy". What an awful, evil thing to say.

I don't know if he ever claimed to heal anyone but he did claim that God spoke to him and told him to marry Donna. He did mention that wasn't how it worked for most people but he was really busy and didn't have time to date like normal people so God had to tell him who to marry. Wow, he didn't have time to date but he had a lot of time to .......................................... Didn't he have the gift of Dance?

Well, I know now, but why didn't the light bulb go off then? My parents told me it was going on.

I don't really know about god's grace being truly amazing, i'm now an agnostic. i do know that a great friend, who never took the class, brought up jewish, is an agnostic as well, didn't think twice about forgiving me.

During the "fog years" my husband and I were asked to run the state of michigan. We said okay if we didn't have to move to st. john's, michigan, didn't have to give up our small business, I could continue working part/time, we lived in the house we owned. They were desperate for leadership and said okay to that. It really worked out well for us when we were accused of stealing from the mimistry because of all the above reasons and dfac. But back to the original question about witnessing............. hated it (but my husband did go out witnessing and I used every trick in the book not to).

I've made some of those phone calls. I walked away from my best friend of 13 years as if I never knew her. We were so close that when her mother died when we were 16 years old, I slept at her house that night. I walked away from that friendship, but when I called her she never questioned me, just accepted me back. It wasn't until this year, 32 years later, that I actually apologized.

After typing my last post, I realized why. I did know, just refused to believe. In the Corps, a girl in our twig was always going to wierwille's motorcoach to give him massages. She'd come to breakfast in the morning exhausted and said she was called to the coach 2 in the morning. A young WoW told me she was in wierwille's coach and he was walking around in his underwear and it made her uncomfortable. Dotsie was in the "President's apt." at Emporia and he was sleeping in the motorcoach. I always found that a little strange. Okay, so I did know, but refused to believe!

In the mid to late 70's my parents wanted to get me de-programmed; my sister talked them out of it. They couldn't care less about the doctrine of the way. Couldn't care less if Jesus was God, 2,4,6 or 8 were crucified with him or any other doctrine. They knew about vp and other "leaders" having sex with young women in the way. I refused to believe it; said I would know if things like that were going on. My mother said "Where's there's smoke, there's fire". So, my parent's knew about these things in 1975 ish. Why did it take so long to become public knowledge?

Limb Home of Michigan was in St. John's. Small town. Witnessing aside, it is strange that so many limb homes were in small, out of the way areas. Even if it costs more money to be in a larger city, it certainly makes no sense to have the person in charge of a state hours away from most of the people they're supposed to serve.

I have some old notes, probably early 80's. "How to Put a PFAL class together in 2 1/2 days. I won't bore you with all the details but it entailed witnessing all weekend and a Pot Luck and Public Exclamation or P.X. Sunday night. I will share with you the "5 Categories of Candidates". Obviously we were to work with the "strongest leads". 5 Categories of Candidates 1. Sure thing-paid in full 2. Strong possibility Bring all candidates to the point of being labeled #1-#5 3. Interested party 4. Mild Possibility 5. Goat (I love this one, I forgot we used to call people "Goats") If class doesn't come together do a follow-up meeting 1 week later. (oh no, not another meeting). *You must have a close-out crew, twig leaders who you train to do the close.* 1. Each in the close-out crew has 2 or 3 green cards. 2. How would you like to pay for the class materials, cash or check? If the person say no, no, no, no, no, - One no might not really mean No. 3. If NO is for real- go to close #2 and say, "Sir, I dfon't think you should take this class. I think you should go to twig and check it out further." Public X. Close- II Peter 1:1-4 John 15: 7-10 Vision-- Genesis 13: 8-11 Lot lifted up his eyes and chose his vision and made his decision based on the flesh. Genesis 13: 14-16 Abram's vision and decision was based on revelation from God John 4:31-36 Lift up your eyes. There you have it! Get busy! Sounds exhausting and not in a good way. Is that where it was when Wayne Merrill was limb coordinator? If so, I've been there many times.

The Corps hated witnessing as much as everyone else. The higher up in leadership the less witnessing you did. Why do you think most of the Limb Homes were in small obscure little towns? In the 70's the Limb Home of New York was in Marathon, N.Y. Ever hear of it? Probably not, it was in the snow belt of upstate N.Y. Why wasn't it in NYC or some other large NY city? Because.............. The Corps hated witnessing as much as everyone else.

He had a gift ministry............. the "gift of gab". The man refused to shut up! Years ago he would come to Cincinnati to buy suits. He invited me, my husband, I believe one other believer and his driver to eat lunch at "Friday's" or some similar restaurant. He talked the whole damn time. It was actually a teaching/lecture because there wasn't any conversation, it was just him yada, yada, yadaing, the whole time we were there.
