Marriage & Haunting A mean old man and his wife were married for many years, even though they hated each other. When they had a confrontation, screaming and yelling could be heard deep into the night. The old man would shout, "When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!" Neighbors feared him. They believed he practiced black magic because of the many strange occurrences that took place in their neighborhood. The old man liked the fact that he was feared. To everyone's relief, he died of a heart attack when he was 74. His wife had a closed casket at the wake. After the burial, she went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there were no tomorrow. Her neighbors, concerned for her safety, asked, "Aren't you afraid that he may indeed be able to dig his way up and out of the grave and come back to haunt you for the rest of your life?" The wife put down her drink and said, Let him dig. I had him buried upside down......."

This apartment house has about 10 apts in it...it used to be an old schoolhouse turned into apts. I know someone that used to live in them and they said that each apt is huge. I can be handy if I need to be. My significant other can be even more handy than me at times. Although, he likes to procrastinate... :P--> This elderly person does not live in the apt building. He has someone I work with do the maintenance for him.

LOLOLOLOL Galen!!!! Ask alfakat, He can tell you how naive I was. They used to play jokes on me all the time. I was pretty gullible...didn't notice anything until I saw the women up on stage mostly nakee!!! I'm sure the look on my face was priceless!!! They teased me for ages on that one!!!!

Yes, I've been reading along. There is an apartment building I've had my eye on for a while. I only know about this by word of mouth. The owner is in his seventies and getting to old to want to take care of it anymore. He wants to sell for 60,000. It does need some new windows, which I can get for 35.00 because I work in a window factory. So that wouldn't be a problem. He isn't in any hurry to sell, just wants to unload it. So I think I need to work on my credit in order to get this going. The house thing would probably be too much work for the profit. I would have to hire someone to do most of the work for these houses so I would not be making much.

Great insight, HCW. Sometimes its hard because we saw people brown nosing in twi so its a real big turn off. But, I totally understand what your saying and although it sounds weird it does work.

I grew up in WA state, and in my adult years have lived there back and forth. The last time I went to get a driver's license was the year of 1994. So it must have been privatized during that time.

Galen, Isn't it weird how we can experience something and our views of it can be totally different? I grew up in Washington state and the DMV's I had been in, they had always been rude. Now when I lived in Iowa it was totally different, their philosopy was to treat their customers with a smile. Minnesota is pretty much the same as Iowa.

Galen, No way were you talking too much...this is all very interesting to me...I'm trying to learn as I'm blindly figuring out how this money/credit stuff work. So any kind of ideas and information is greatly appreciated. I was thinking about later on starting to get into buying and fixing up homes or buying and renting them out. But I think I need to get my credit up first to be able to do it.

Wow, this is really weird...not a half hour ago the family and I were in the car talking about proms. The kids were talking about when it is and they asked me what it was like when I went to my prom...sadly I didn't go...I was too shy at that age...plus I was in twi and more into that then into school and proms... :(--> What a great idea for you to do...a lot of people don't get to go to their proms for various reasons and most people looking back wish they had.
