I was going to go with Laugh-In next. Ok, so... The original premise of this drama series was pitched to network executives as a joke. They loved it. Audiences seemed to like it too. It ran six seasons. Each episode had two storylines, and those storylines would never intersect. This enabled the producers to sell half-hour episodes in syndication.

Scream is not a comedy. It's a whodunnit disguised as a self-aware horror movie. The first movie and the first sequel are actually VERY good. I highly recommend them. The rest are xerox copies with occasional moments of something resembling cleverness. Jay and Silent Bob have a cameo in Scream 3.
