  1. Decent guesses, but no. I keep going back to Why Thor? [I'll do you one better...] If a show features lawyers and law enforcement but is not about them, who's it about? The fast food restaurant sold chicken.
  2. Law & Order is ABOUT the cops and lawyers. This show is about not them.
  3. it featured law enforcement officers and lawyers, but they it was not ABOUT them.
  4. law firm, yes. the major supporting character in question is a lawyer. Not Suits. Not a legal show.
  5. One of the major characters is played by an actor who is not Jewish. At first, when he read the character's name, the actor said he shouldn't be cast BECAUSE he's not Jewish. But he learned that the character, despite his name, is not Jewish either. It's a deliberate choice on the character's part to let people THINK he's Jewish, because a Jewish person in his line of work is common. ****
  6. Fair enough. My paranoia is in the other direction: that we are not seen as a site that gleefully reports every rumor without any concern over its veracity. At the same time, the original post was specific in its query and I was specific in our reply, but I agree that a more expansive look at the question could easily yield insightful answers. To wit: Has TWI ever done anything that you considered an invasion of privacy? [For Clarification: Raf and Modcat5 are the same person]
  7. In case I wasn't clear, Big Bang Theory was incorrect, and THOR (the first movie) is crucial to an accurate guess.
  8. Ok, great thinking. Correcting a misconception: the producers did not seriously consider the cameo. Samuel L. Jackson asked for it and got turned down. Joking that the show was part of the MCU was a non-starter. That was NOT a hint about the genre of the show. This is one of the best examples I've ever given you of a subtle but MAJOR hint hiding in plain site. So was that.
  9. That would be hilarious, but no.
  10. Samuel L. Jackson once showed up on the set of this series in character as Nick Fury. He wanted a cameo as a fast food restaurant patron. The scene likely would have been set during the events of Thor, though that's not 100 percent certain. In any event, even joking that this series was a part of the MCU was a non-starter. Jackson/Fury did not get the cameo.

    Nill. Move along.
  12. Wild guess based on a name in common. Peter Sarsgaard (sp checked) played Charles "Chuck" Lane in "Shattered Glass," arguably my favorite movie. It remains the only movie I can put on any time and don't have to be in the mood for it.
  13. "Did someone say my name?" "Who are you?" "I'm Brian Dennehy." "No, not f'ing Brian Dennehy." "Get the f out of here." "Oh. Bye."
  14. Pretty sure we left the original topic of this thread a few pages ago. While starting a new thread might be a good idea, I wouldn't enforce it. Let the conversation go where it may at this point. [But more people might be attracted to a new thread].
  15. Excellent. Of course, we would have to know that the Quaker who preceded Nixon was Herbert Hoover. Could use a man like him again?
  16. Jack Black Shallow Hal Gwynneth Paltrow
  17. Yes, showing my age there. Yoda was not in Star Wars: A New Hope at tall.
  18. Ah. My turn. Hmm.... "Dear Officer Krupke, we're very upset. We never had the love that every child outta get."
