  1. A myth or urban legend I remember from a couple of different sources on a couple of different occasions involved God protecting belivers in cars. One was a group of wows going through an intersection into a high speed chase. Both the escaping car and police car passed through the wows car. The policeman stopped and came back to asked the wows what just happened. Another was a twig coordinator who pulled out on to a major country road at night in a heavy fog and a truck passed through her car. I also remember a twig coordinators wife who was feeding her family (including young children) white bread and fish, (it was all they could afford) they bought the bread at a thrift store and caught the fish. When I asked if she wasn't concerened about balanced nutrition she said that because it was prepared by a beliver (her)with the love of God and they thanked God for it (said grace)before they ate, It would provide all the nutrition they needed
  2. Gee I used to enjoy soaring and making model airplanes, Maybe I'll get one of these babies: Predator spy plane with gps and camera I think I'd even bring it up to the New Knoxville area. I could fly it over Way HQ and maybe catch some live pictures of one of Rosies pool parties. At the very least make some low altitude passes over Grounds just after Sunday service. Just to get WayGB's panties in a wad. If I flew it at 300 to 500 feet perhaps they would try to shoot it down. It would make for some great pictures! I could even send them to the local papers. Now don't anyone else steal my idea.
  3. Hope R's original post on this thread got me thinking about the continents dividing very rapidly so I crunched some numbers and thought I'd share them along with another explanation that may or maynot be valid. I realise that God is God and he can do anything but that it seems that he usualy works within the order of his creation rather than arbitrarely changing it. First this is an idea of what would happen if the continents were to move rapidly. The San Andreas fault is estimated to be 29 million years old and to have traveled about 340 miles. The largetst measured movement at one time was about 20 feet (the 1906 San Francisco quake Magnitude 8.25) The average movement works out to be about three quarters of an inch per year. To give an idea of what would have been going on if the lands were dividing at an average rate of one mile per year: this would be about 84,480 times faster than the San Andreas fault moves. In 20 foot lurches, that would be about 264 magnitude 8.25 quakes a year up and down the west coast of what is now north and south america and the east coast of asia and africa. Since this would be pushing one plate above another that would produce a lot of volcanic activity and Tsunamis as well. Another explanation that would be less disruptive and violent if the level of the oceans were to rise. Thinking back to the flood, When Mount Arrat was exposed as the waters receded and exposed dry land where did all that water go? Cloud cover over the earth could cause the temperature to drop, particularly at the north and south poles. This could have caused the rains up there to fall as snow building ice caps. If that continued at the poles, there could have been glaciers there that lowered the oceans to allow the ark to strike land. This may have continued till there was a combination of land and ice bridge that effectively united all the continents. Then about a hundred years later the ice caps partly melted raising the sea level to about where they are today. Dividing the continets. I left TWI after WAP came out but was not deeemed faithful enough to take it. Now I am realived that I did not have to endure it.

  5. 2Strange- I just tried also and got a not authorized error- both to the video page and theway.com home page- they have probably closed the site- perhaps they are removing the video link as we speak? ;)--> The more I think about his video and why it was produced, the more I suspect that its primary purpose was to first to bolster the TWI leaderships image- first in their own eyes and secondly to the rest of the "household". If it brought in new people- that would be an added benefit. TWI bought this ad in which they were "selected from 5 other non profit groups" because they were doing such a "good job" I contrast this infomercial with some of the charges with the Peeler law suit: “ 14. In pursuit of its mission, TWI recruits affiliates, followers and adherents. TWI requests, requires, demands and receives income from its adherents as “contributions”. TWI indoctrinates affiliates, adherents and followers in order to gain control over their personal lives, careers and finances to purport TWI’s covert agenda and questionable pursuits. 15. TWI Conducts its business in such a manner that affiliates, adherents and followers are “conditioned” and/or encouraged to become economically and psychologically dependent on TWI and its leadership…” I think the lawsuits and its depositions really bothered the TWI Leadership. Imagine what would happen if this suit were granted class action status or similar suits were filed and TWI had to settle or face insolvency. In addition since the video page is below a page labeled current news I also suspect they plan on similar stunts. We shall see. While I hope the outcry this infomercial has stirred up here has blocked its use by TWI, the leadership will probably use the old logic - since the adversary used "tripped out grads" to block our use of this infomercial we must be doing something right! Thus reinforcing their distorted self-image. wasn't born to follow- false doctrines
  6. Terry Bradshaws's pick of the week website is http://www.broadcastnewschannel.com They say comments can be addressed to: operations@broadcastnewschannel.com When I watched the video I noticed the copyright at the end gave the date but not the ownership. I suspect (and hope) that TWI is using it without permission, and if enough of us make enough noise they will be forced to pull it The results of the google search "terry bradshaw's pick" found several companies that mention that they are picks and stream their ads. It makes me think that it is all part of the advertising package. They are "picked" because they pay. In this case TWI has bought the illusion of respectability wasn't born to follow- false doctrines
  7. Diaz Bro- Thanks for your reply to my post, This whole thread is helping question my assumptions and change my beliefs, heal and move on. I guess where I am at right now and the point I was trying to get to (which your post helped with) is that the assimilating, repackaging branding and selling of someone elses product is a large part of the american way of life and bussiness. I see that as both good and evil. Improvemnt of a product or idea is good. Marketing an improved product to more people is good. Taking a "perfectly" good product and making changes to escape legal patent or copywrite restrictions is evil. It does not improve the product, it weakens it. I remember VPW stated durring the first part of the foundational class how much he had read works "around" the bible an "Word" for years before he started to just go to the "Word". He takled about how he had met many men who had great ministries but he at least implied that they fell away from him because they would not "Go to the Word". I now wonder if this was his attempt to attribute and credit by discrediting his sources. Was it an excuse to plagarise? An indication of VPW's own weakness? I also wonder what it was he saw in the "man of God" that came to teach at his church. I can't remember his name but if I remember the story, when "The man of God" was introduced to VPW he asked VP- what he wanted to do when he grew up and VP replied "be a man of God like you sir". Why? From a psychological stand point this could reveal a great personal weakness. One reason I am thinking along these lines is because I just finshed the novel by Imus "God's other son". It is about a very messed up boy who grows up to become the most famous and powerful evangelist in the modern world and believes he is God's other son. Parts of it are funny and parts painful. wasn't born to follow- false doctrines
  8. Re-reading these posts, I had an thought I'd like to share. What VPW, Hagin and other have done is market a product. They have taken "Ideas" from others, some previously published, some not. They have packaged, branded and marketeted them more successfuly than those (Bullinger, Kenyon, Leonard, Stiles and others) who developed them. These assimilators were more sucessful at diseminating the information because they were better marketers. Pehaps because part of their motivation was wealth power and prestige. I am not excusing plagarism or theft of intellectual property, just commenting on the process. wasn't born to follow- false doctrines
  9. Dot Thanks for this thread and I'm glad your hand got healed. A couple of topics that might keep the plagerism discussions lively: 1. Atheletes of the spirit. I remember the evolution story from the ministry- From a ROA Skit to hollywoods SATANS ALLEY play within a movie in "Staying Alive". Then to Atheletes. 2. I got the impression that VPW (and LCM) had a lot of help that is perhaps unattributed contributions for the Promised Seed, Passover, and Harmony of the Gospels. In all of these "projects" I got the distinct impression that from VPW's and LCM's comments on SNS tapes etc. that there were many people involved but that these MOG's were overseeing them to be sure that they were "spiritually pure" and then published under their name. I bought it at the time but now I wonder if it was a kind of exploitation- It wouldn't be plagarism because the "contributors" were "working under and for" VPW and had not published. But I think the astronomical work was someones original work that he shared with VPW- But the hours of research and development into a hopefully accurate and meaningful product were from those unnamed individuals. I guess what I am saying is that I think these latter works were ghost written- without attribution. Any other comments? wasn't born to follow- false doctrines
  10. I work 3rd shift so star gazing is one of the few benefits. A few weeks ago I watched Mars "rise" from behind the dakside of a crescent moon. It would have made a beautiful picture through a telescope. I wonder if any amature astronomers caught it. wasn't born to follow- false doctrines
