  1. They advertised about their products in every way mag and highlighted a produst on every SNS tape I ever heard. I am sure that cost them LOTS to self promote. The only public advertisement I am aware of is the bradshaw infomercial they had produced. I just checked the web site and did not find it archived.- You would think it would be. http://www.broadcastnewschannel.com/ Looking under news lists all of their archived Picks- TWI is not listed in Jan or Feb of 2004 It might be illuminating to ask BNC about this. Here is the link to the response to this infomercial at GSC http://gscafe.com/groupee/forums?q=Y&a=tpc...=7466003065&p=1 Also they may have advertised Way productions events in local papers and brodcasts.
  2. Wayfer- Rico met her at a strip club last year and she gave him a bj. This was when his wife was depressed. This e....ode seemed to be about all the different charachters returning to their "normal" states of disfunction.
  3. It looks like it will be in Atlanta in on Sept 10 so I think I'll see it then. As far as the idea of this being "catalyst for a great spiritual awakening in the US if not the world."- All I think is oh boy another cult to join. :)--> I am interested though-
  4. Hi Todd- I read through your post quickly- I'll come back and look at it again. Don't have any questions about it yet. One thing it reminds me of is the idea of the ennegram and personality types. Are you familiar with it? In your context of unfolding growth, I think it would relate to how people are "stuck" because their personalities are "protecting" them from a basic fear. The terminology is similar though and I know you are using it differently. I can't ask any inspiring questions until I have separated your terminology from ennegram terminology.
  5. Belle- Imbus has seen it and mentioned it at the end of this thread. http://gscafe.com/groupee/forums?a=tpc&s=9...632&m=615105064
  6. Oak- Belief systems are a work in progress for most of us. I also think that our belief systems are much more a product of how well our earlier belief systems survived and explained the randomness and chaos of life than a product of "rational thought and choice".
  7. Oak- In reading this thread I realize I have a different perspective from you on this. Let me try and explain it. I am going to talk in terms of individuals rather than groups because I believe that no two individuals can have exactly the beliefs. Even if they are both Skeptics or Christians First I think you are right when you say “it all comes down to a subjective experience, feelings, trust, faith, all that;” I believe everyone’s belief system is a result of their life experiences- starting at birth- what they were taught- primarily by example and then how it actually worked in their life. It seems that a basic human need is to understand the universe and the self’s relation in order to survive and thrive. The process of “understanding” the lessons of life is what forms each individuals belief system. The result at least for me is that I don’t feel that I can tell you when or why I decided to be a “Christian” I just know that I am. I also can’t tell you when I choose to be a male, be born in the USA to my parents etc. etc. etc. -I have done what the bible said and got the expected results. -I have prayed and gotten answers many times. -I feel that God talks to and inspires me to Godly actions. These have only confirmed or reinforced my “faith” they are not the reason for it. Perhaps it is the Bible being proved right in that God chose me before the beginning, and having faith first allowed my to have these experiences or perhaps it is pure coincidence. I don’t know- I also don’t care, because I don’t think it is possible to determine which is right at this time. Perhaps after I die it will. So I also can’t tell you that my belief system is superior to any other persons. I recognize that their beliefs are a product of their individual attempt to understand and control their own lives. The same as mine is. However I think that from my perspective it makes my belief in Christianity self evidently superior- to me and for me. However I also recognize that almost all people assume that theirs is the only true and valid belief system. (I know mine is for me- I suspect yours is for you or you would not have started this thread) :)-->
  8. XP puts your files where you tell it- if you pay attention- You have to know where your "my Docs" is just keep going up and you will see where it nests. I have set up folders named temp and download for instance- That is where I download to- XP's file exploder works just like 98 if you want it to- once again you just have to configure it. Most network admins diasable these features since it makes it harder to recover files etc. But if your peolpe want to do it- they can. One cute thing with XP pro is that you can set your drives up with 3 partions- one for the OS, one for the programs, One for the user files- this is supposed to make it easier to backup and restore.
  9. I think I remember this from one of the collateral teachings- Job Victim to Victor This is what Job said happened to him: Job 3:25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. The thing that Job supposedly feared was that his sons had sinned and cursed God in their hearts. Because he held it as nagging fear either it came to pass or the adversary was able to use it against him. Job 1:5 And it was so, when the days of [their] feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings [according] to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually
  10. Also you can let the users run with Classic thermes and it will look preety much like 95/98
  11. Were'nt the way homes turned into half way homes during the fog years? ;)-->
  12. Rachel- Is this what you are looking for? http://my.en.com/~anders/intro.html The two Ways of the First Century Church by Davic A Anderson A study in the book of Acts of the conflict between law and grace- as seen in the conflict between James, the Lord's brother, and Paul, the apostle and as seen in the church today
  13. The point about Elihu is interesting. I vaguely remember VPW teaching that Job prayed for three of the "miserable comforters" but not a fourth, Elihu? before God delivered him. The other thing I remember was VPW saying that the fourth was seed and that was why Job did not pray for him Could VP actually be that far off? I guess so. Anyone else rember somthing like that? BTW- Strongs says Elihu means "He is my God" and the Hebrew lexicon translates Elihu "whose God is He"
  14. CW- Fruit of the spirit are mentioned in Gal 5:22 and 5:23 Gal 5:22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. I quoted these verses in Colossians because I felt it helped explain why longsuffering was a fruit of the spirit. Patience is not listed as a fruit of the spirit Here is a definition of the two words in Col 1:11 from Strongs Dictionary as found on the BlueLetterBible.org Site Longsuffering: Strongs 3115 makrothumia {mak-roth-oo-mee'-ah} Translated in KJV - longsuffering 12, patience 2; Meaning- 1) patience, endurance, constancy, steadfastness, perseverance 2) patience, forbearance, longsuffering, slowness in avenging wrongs Patience: Strongs 5281 hupomone {hoop-om-on-ay'} Translated in KJV- patience 29, enduring 1, patient continuance 1, patient waiting 1; Meaning- 1) steadfastness, constancy, endurance a) in the NT the characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and sufferings b) patiently, and steadfastly 2) a patient, steadfast waiting for 3) a patient enduring, sustaining, perseverance Perhaps one way to look at the difference between the two is that having patience-“ loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and sufferings” is a requirement to longsuffering-“slowness in avenging wrongs” Another way to look at it is that patience may be in reference to an individuals continued belief in God and the bible. Longsuffering may be in reference to an individuals continued application of that belief in spite of adverse circumstances.
  15. Once again Todd puts things so well. The idea of being longsuffering with oneself is important. I ran a quick word check on longsuffering and these two verses stood out to me. Col 1:10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Col 1:11Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness Perhaps longsuffering is a fruit of the spirit because when it can be longsuffering with joyfulness, it is based on being fruitful in every good work, walking worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing and increasing in the knowledge of God.
  16. I hope this helps: - try these steps Down load and run Spybot and adaware- both have free versions Spybot Search and destroy- http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html Adaware- http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ Popup prevention- switch to Mozilla or Firefox from Mozzilla- http://www.mozilla.org/ (Also free) There are several threads in this section of GS on Mozilla and Fire Fox
  17. I thought of something If someone is going to try this (Swapping C drives). You are going to need the correct drivers and such for each computer- the bios and sound cards and such . Windows might get upset- In fact XP might require you to call in and re- register. Because when it auto detects the changes appear so drastic. This could defeat much of the convienince you are trying to achieve.
  18. Tom- You might consider putting 2000 pro on it. I did so with an even older Fujitsu PII 200 and felt it was an improvement over 98 2000 probably has the drivers included, but the sony site should have the 2000 drivers for it 2000 will probably give you a slight performance improvement and it has a lot tof the background features that went in to XP
  19. Steve! This is what I have used to run laptop drives in removable bays. I assume IBM drive have the same mini ins This Is an adapter to connect the Laptop drive to a standard IDE- I have one but it looks different http://www.provantage.com/buy-7cbtr00e-lap...05-shopping.htm You would use these in a removable bay like one of these. http://www.dealtime.com/xPO-IDE_Removable_...ck_IDE66BASICBK
  20. I remeber techings along the same line as Lindys But since I left in 96 I think it started in the early 90's
  21. If I remember- It is very easy to remove the hard drive on IBM Thinkpads. If you used one of those for your laptop and set your desktops up with a removeable bay you could drop the IBM laptop hard drive into the desktops. The hard Drive connections probably aren't designed for that much use thought.
  22. I like it. But I think they should have dialed the wraith world and sent the blob there- but that probably would have cut out to many story lines. They will probably do it later.
  23. Tom- I am not an expert but I have had cable and had 2 different dsl providers. I have also customized my dsl modem and network addressing. Cable is usually faster- Also I think it has faster upload speed if that matters to you- I do up load files but dont swaeat the speed decrease. Dsl is supposedly more secure because you have a direct connection to phone company and a cable is a "party line" network of computers- A neighbor hodd hacker wanabe might pratice on your systems- I never had that problem though. I think multiple computers will slow down any Internet connection. If they are all accessing the innternet simultainiously. They will have to share the bandwith. You might not have the slow downs due to other users but then again you might. Some times my connection is slower for no apparent reason. Your wiring is probably ok- you will need filters for everything except the dsl modem- I have a home office and got one of those phone-fax-message switches and the instructions said to use 2 filters so I did and it works fine. You should have no trouble with using your linksys router to a dsl modem- It should work just like your cable. Check to see which modems are available- most new ones can be configured from you web browser so you don't have to load any of the dsl software on your computers (one less thing to get screwed up in my opinion) Bottom line It will work as well as cable but assume it will be slower. If a slight slow down say 20-30 % is ok for half the price then switch. I use DSL light which is a throttled down dsl for $10 less a month and am happy.
  24. Galen- I just bought a 91 jeep cherroke for $2100 with 116K in good condition. When you get ready to replace your old cars with new old cars, bring your motorhome on down and I'll show you where you can get similar deals out in a small town in Alabama.
  25. I enjoy both Atlantis and the original Stargate as weel as the movie As a SF fan I also enjoy the similarites and differences between these series and the series of books by Fredrick Poul which I think was part of the inspiration for Stargate.
