  1. Roy, I think you've gotit!! Yes, giving in to peer pressure. Lightside, yep, the HS has ministered the most to me right in my own prayer closet, too, right here in my own home. Thanks for bringing that up because I thought about that earlier too. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  2. Roy, your post is so SWEET and LOVING! THANK YOU! Yes, I believe FATHER GOD grades us on a curve just to get us saved! Wow! What a concept. And, that mud pie analogy. Yes, I believe He does reward us with ice cream. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  3. Roy, Agreed. I'm not sure why some people DO fake it, are you? It's not something I'm inclined to do, but who knows? Maybe they think they're supposed to DO something because it's not happening for them (talking about people getting ministered to, not those ministering). I'm not inclined to judge them for that because they have to give an account of their own lives and I've probably done worse in other areas of mine. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  4. Happy Birthday to you!!!! Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  5. dmiller and Roy, I have friends who have "fallen under the power" at conferences and they have all said the Holy Spirit ministered to them while they were on the floor. It has never happened to me that way, but I know the HS has ministered to me in other ways at the same conferences. I believe we are all "wired" uniquely and what is important is that we submit ourselves to the HS and let Him minister to us however He wants to. The manifestations are not what's important (meaning if we fall out of our chairs or not). Sorry, Abigail, didn't notice you just said the same thing...so I'm agreeing with you. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  6. Oenophile, I'm still digesting what you said. That is GOOD. Feeds me, anyway. Everyone else, I know we aren't supposed to judge others when they hurt us now that we're BIGGER, let's say, but it's still not that easy when people do things deliberately. Jesus said on the cross to forgive them for they know not what they do. I suppose it is safe to assume that when people hurt others deliberately that even though they are doing it intentionally maybe they don't really KNOW what prompted their desire to do it so therefore they don't really KNOW why they did it and therefore it should be easier to forgive them. It's easier to blow it off as not knowing what they are doing early on, too, than it is after we analyse it 1500 different way afterwards. Anyway, I HOPE I can learn to do that more and sooner from now on. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  7. Alfakat, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . Thanks, WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  8. Too Gray, Ditto from rascal above. You're a really GOOD writer. THANKS for sharing that! WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  9. Roy and anyone else who might know, Roy's prophecy in the Holy Spirit thread got me thinking again about something I was studying this morning from Jesus about how we will be judged according to how we judge others. For those of us who were put with tough and possibly unfair "governors", do you think we get graded on a curve? WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  10. Paul was my favorite and I still like his music. Michael Douglas used a lot of his tunes in The In-Laws.We rented it last night. He should be having another kid sometime this month.....but haven't kept up too closely. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  11. Alfakat, Do you mind if I ask, what did you mean by "shiest or sheist"? I couldn't find it in the dictionary except to possibly mean "shy." That's not what you mean is it? WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  12. Sirguessalot, I heard Fred Price try to teach one section of Jesus Christ Our Promised Seed almost word for word one night on TV, gosh 7 years ago or something, and I kept thinking, "you better get moving or you're not gonna finish this section" and he didn't. Funny! I'm sure none of the people in that huge auditorium in CA KNEW...but then maybe there were one or two. Who knows... People do teach from his stuff (sorry John). WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  13. Ex10: I think you will really like the book. It is also a Bio of Benny Hinn's early life and the persecution he endured by his own family for becoming a Christian. I believe he has the skinny on who the Holy Spirit really is (and it's not just another name for GoD as twi taught). He (The Holy Spirit) has a ministry and He is fulfilling it with those who will LET him HELP them (remember the comforter, counselor, helper, etc.) The thing that kept me from reading the book for so long was past prejudice from another source that we all are familiar with here. I have never been to one of his crusades. Sirguessalot: I heard you the first time but didn't know what to say except I agree and thanks. A book that you might be interested in reading, possibly, is one I like a lot called Redefining the Role of Women in the Church by Drs. Jim Davis and Donna Johnson. It has some really good stuff about the feminine side being pressed down and under and some interesting light on "no male or female," and women's ministries, etc., but that is another thread. Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  14. Ex10, It sounds like we have been listening to The (SAME) Holy Spirit lately! LOL! Someone recommended a book to me several years ago and I just blew him off when he suggested it, but last summer I saw it at Barnes & Noble and decided I wanted to read it. So, I went over to the bookstore for 4 nights in a row and read the book from cover to cover and it is the BEST book I have ever read on THE HOLY SPIRIT. Don't fall out of your seat, but it is Goodmorning Holy Spirit, by Benny Hinn. It is also one of the best books I have, personally, ever read, period. Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  15. Does anyone know where they are living? Liz and I were great friends even though we didn't stay in touch very well. If I could just get the name of a city, maybe I could look them up in the white pages and call them... Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  16. Welcome to the Cafe, Teknon! I'm so glad you're here. You sound like you've already done some mental inventory and are thinking things through and, heck, God will show you the rest (the parts that YOU need to know). Just sit back, relax, and let HIM provide and have another cup of coffee on me! WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  17. O, This is a tough one. I voted for the last choice. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  18. grasshopper, I was still having a recurring dream until a few years ago about my being at HQ at the ROA and everything looked different and no one knew who I was. I was just walking around observing. LOL! And, I got out a LONG time ago. Hang in there...this too shall pass. 19. How about "bless you" or "you're (barf) the best"? "[if] there were none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach for anything better." Florence Nightingale
  20. ...oh, ok, then, that IS NATURAL in the animal kingdom...then the show must have been ok then.... "[if] there were none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach for anything better." Florence Nightingale
  21. ...or either they were both married to other elephants...yeah, that was probably it... "[if] there were none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach for anything better." Florence Nightingale
  22. ummmm....let's see.....i saw a wildlife show one time on A&E and two elephants that were not married were h***ing, so it must be that one...... "[if] there were none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach for anything better." Florence Nightingale
  23. " TARGET=_blank>http://www.livingepistlessociety.org/ActualErrors.htm Raf, I couldn't pull up the revised list. Could you post it again?...or I'll just try again later...whatever..... Thx, WB "[if] there were none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach for anything better." Florence Nightingale
  24. Dear T.E., You brought tears to my eyes and I hurt for you. But, please remember that the valleys are where God works because we can't help ourselves anymore. Believe me, I've been there MANY times and I know what you're going through. Someone very dear to me has been diagnosed with what I think you may have. Please send me a private message if you know how and I'll be glad to share some things he has done that have helped. He came very close to losing his wife, too. Please remember, you are loved, at least here, anyway. We care. WB "[if] there were none who were discontented with what they have, the world would never reach for anything better." 25. oenophile, I've had a lot of that godly sorrow stuff in my own life, too, and for the same reasons. I'm so glad that Jesus Christ forgives and cleanses because it's such a dirty feeling after doing that to somebody. I sent you a private msg.
