  1. Also, I thought the handling of Pontius Pilate and his wife was superb! Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  2. I agree. They handled those characters really well, Mj. Mary was very Catholic, but that didn't bother me. The most important thing was that they got the Christ right. That guy was great! WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  3. We saw it again this afternoon! It was good. The one main thing I got from it was what it means to be a Christian. They got the Christ exactly right, me thinks. He was good. How could a human being go through that and not curse the people doing it? It is beyond me. What a reality check. Yes, we can forgive because no one has ever done even half that to us. Powerful message. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  4. Yes, so sad. We were in a theatre with a group of deaf people who signed to each other out in the lobby afterwards quite a bit. That was why it was so quiet afterwards because the theatre wasn't full. Me and Mr. WB? We were just sorta looking at each other and didn't know what to say for a while because we were so moved. I wanted to go and just experience the message, not trying to figure out if it was word for word from the Bible and "accurate." But, at one point waybrain got me and I was counting the number of times they beat him. So, I had to tell myself to STOP IT! Then it was much better. wb Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  5. Thanks JF, socks, Sirguess and both exxies, This is just a question I've had for a while...for example, when I was young I did one or two things that had I listened to what my conscience was saying I would have KNOWN was wrong even though I did not yet know the Bible said so. I was too busy listening to what the really "spiritual" people were saying instead. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  6. We just got back from seeing it. It was very moving. Made me really THINK about what Christianity really IS and how wimpy I am sometimes when I think I'm getting a little persecution. Don't want to say too much until others have seen it. We really enjoyed it. Blessings, WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  7. JF, Cool! Do you remember if you had that same conviction about things before you had hs, also? WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  8. CW, I disaTOTALLYgree with your opinion on that subject, that what we can see with our physical eyes is all there is. But, praise God, it's certainly your right to your own opinion and I don't consider it my mission in life to try to change that for you! With all best wishes, Take care, WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  9. Well, Can't wait. We're going to the matinee this afternoon and taking a box of kleenex! Here's a really good aricle about the movie from the Catholic website at: http://urbanlegends.about.com/gi/dynamic/o...com/catholicway (You have to scroll down a little ways to "Passionate About the Passion.") If anyone else gave the same link, please forgive me. I haven't read all of the msgs. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  10. Hello, all. I've been trying to catch up here... Socks, I liked what you shared about the conscience thing. I've been studying a little about that recently. Do you think we're hardwired to "do the right thing" once we're born again? Also, unbornagain people have a conscience, also, according to some, to tell them not to do wrong things. I think this could be true. Whatdayathink? WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  11. I think the practice of witchcraft refers to even Christian groups (and I don't know if twi would fit into that category anymore) that practice control and manipulation by operating (really being under the influence of) the Jezebel spirit or demon. There are some good books on this subject that describe twi's tactics to a tee. Just PT me if anyone would like some titles, authors, etc. (most of the splinter group mogs still practice the same thing). WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  12. Happy Birthday, Dot. You are a dear! With love, Wb Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  13. Darn it! I FORGOT about that interview with Diane Sawyer. Does anyone know if it will be rerun on any of the stations or networks? WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  14. Too Gray said: I know you asked specifically for some understanding about the Book of Rev. In that regard, I am sure my posts are a total disappointment. All I want to do is point to a path you can take that may have been forbidden to you in the past. Hi again. Actually, I haven't been too concerned (as in not at all) what anyone thought about what I've read for at least 20 years, now. LOL! But, I think I get your point about being more led by the spirit more instead of by our brain. Yes, I agree. The problem could be that I've never asked the Lord to teach me the book of Rev and maybe I just answered my own question about why the answers haven't come. Hummmmm. Thanks. Maybe that is a question. Why haven't I asked? WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  15. Todd, You said: ...in TWI, we were more like kids pretending to be superheroes, jumping on the bed with bath-towels for capes and brooms for swords. Some of us even fell off and bumped our head. But too few of us ever really stepped outside (doctrinally). Thanks. That was pretty good. What do I think that you know about the book of Rev? I have no clue what you know. From your post, you sounded like you thought you understood it. I don't know if you do or not. With Rev, there are so many people writing about it, I basically haven't read ANY (except for blurbs here and there by various and sundry writers who seem to all come at it from different angles) for that very reason. They can't all be right and I doubt if they all are completely wrong. For me, I like to at least think that the guide knows where he's going before I hire him to take me on a trip. Yes, the comforter is the best guide, and I suppose I'll just keep waiting until something rings true. I haven't been urged to delve into anyone's material on that subject...and not because I don't want to understand it. One of the reasons I took PFAL was because I wanted to understand Rev. Pretty funny, huh? This wasn't meant to be confrontational, just answering your questions or comments as honestly as possible. 16. Too Gray, Well, I don't GET any of it except the verse about the first love and also I love to read about Jesus and what he looks like with the white hair and flame for eyes and the white horse he's coming back on...that must be an awesome thing to behold. Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  17. Me neither. I believe the HS has attributes of both genders. That's why (I think) God took out part of Adam and made Eve because before this occurred, Adam was both. By taking part of his attributes out and depositing them into another being, that made him cleave to Eve because he needed what she had in order for him to be whole. (not intended to be a teaching, but I heard someone teach this one time and I think it makes sense) CW, you are loved and you have the right to express yourself anyway you would like (at least to me). Ha! Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  18. To me, the ministry was the people, not the "leadership" so I would say the same as pappajohn that I've forgiven all of them a long time ago and hope they've forgiven me. Then I'd ask, "Would you like to meet Jesus?" He'd like to meet you, I feel sure.... WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  19. Thanks. Will do. Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  20. Alf, Raf, oldies, No, it was apparent from listening to FP's teachings that he didn't believe regarding salvation the way that we were taught but that doesn't stop some people from borrowing the parts that they like. But, SOME of his stuff, as Alfakat said, sounded like it came right out of PFAL and then the night he started teaching out of JCOP I was finally CONVINCED it wasn't a coincidence (I haven't listened to him in years so don't know what he preaches now). But, he's someone who, how do I say this, didn't seem inclined to give credit to others, either....at least he didn't any of the times I listened to him. Alf, sorry, but I'd never heard of Dr. Martin until you mentioned him so sure that could be a possibility, too. WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  21. They used to live in Indy, but I have no clue where they live now. It's been about 3 yrs. now since I've heard their name mentioned by anyone I know here. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  22. Sir Guess, How did you learn to understand the Revelation of Jesus Christ? I am SO lost in that book. I understand that verse about having lost our first love (thank God I'm not there anymore...cried like a baby right there in church when I went to my first church service after leaving a splinter group and that verse was read). Can you recommend a book that I can read to help me navigate in that unfamiliar territory? WB Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  23. I love that too! THANKS Wafer Not! Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
  24. Well, I'm probably not gonna get too many people to agree with me on this one because I wouldn't classify it as a loving show, but I like to watch Raymond because it makes me laugh! So, since laughing is therapeutic (here's my reasoning), then it is being loving to myself to watch it! Asked why he began studying Greek at age 94, Oliver Wendell Holmes replied,"Well, my good sir, it's now or never!"
