  5. VeePee was caught up in the idea of conspiracy...I only recently threw away my "cuurent Psychological Hoax" this was the tape that vpw said Jim Jones was a CIA experiment.
  6. I am all over the place, but generally lean to Repbulican....however, I'm tired of Bush right now (even tho' I voted for him) and dont like how domestic issues are ignores and NCLB needs a whole lot more $$ to really work. And I am pro-stem cell research
  7. GMIR was essentially produced by Walter Cummin and Bernita Jesse. Walter well... he left Bernita no longer lives in HQ land and is taken care of by Rob and Sharon Mortensen in Michigan somewhere. (Sharon is Sharon Jesse Mortenson)

  9. Galen..in New Mexico we have 3 recesses a day...but on .5 year of music and ART on alternating years. Having been in one of the states on the study...it has made the press. There are no public pre-schools here... Next year will be the first pilot. Given that fact, it apparently deals with private schools like Kindercare etc, and a lot of it has been from non-payment or if a kid repeatedly bites or something like that.
  10. I have to admit-- I voted for my son who is going tomorrow...Ill wait for pay per view mom washnwear
  11. the 80's was the beginning of teh whole language theory.... (look at a book and absorb the words....yeah i know) now the pendulum has swung the other way...and you know...it never really stops inthe middle. I think the expectations thing is the issue.... A lot of reading studies that deal with non discrepancy model children found that homeschooled or public schooled, most AVERAGE kids read at the 5th grade level by 11....amazing ....NORMAL DEVELOPMENT whoda thunnk???
  12. Yes abbi--its finally getting out there so to speak. The program my kids go to is based on cerebellar development. (or lack thereof) cerebellum - the place where motor coordination develops. (in a nut shell) Dore Acheivement Centers check out the science behind the program. Only 2.5 years in US, but been in England for a while, with a 93% success rate. On another note, chromosome 2, 10, and 11 have been found to affect decoding in dyslexic children....Good finding...means $$ for interevention down the road. (Univ. of Washington,- Drs. Raskind, Wijsman, Berninger--with funding by NICHD)(in Molecular Psychiatry, March 2005)
  13. Ver good list Belle, I am gona cut and paste that one! WW ;)-->
  14. the problem is that sweeping generalizations are not reflective of individual thinking...and never will be....furthermore, who the h**l has the place to judge anothers life here.. the court of gsc --- i dont think so. ww
  15. well--those are both good ideas, but the real name thing is this: its for real people I know with Dyslexia and ADD and ADHD and Asperger's etc. like classroom parents. as for hiding the adm. ~ the comcast resource doesnt let me.... I am thinking of duplicating it on Scholatic.com, but dont know yet..it was a class project, but I have been giving this info out in paper form for years. and thanks for looking at it.
  16. K- I finally got off my backside and stsarted to get this off the ground. Promoting Learning Differences check it out and sign my guest book oh- the newsletter part still has some kinks to work out. Washingtonweather aka Lianne Pierce
  17. nc~~~another poster-thinks they are a mind reader~~~ayup ww
  18. Jonny-son The boy was still extremely hurt from the night before....and still didn't know how to emotionally handle it, you and lovely wife and super-mom got the brunt of the hurt, it just comes out in a differnt way, and its hard as heck to see it when you are in the middle of it. I hurt for your son, rejection is always ****ty! take care dude, Washingtonweather
  19. That's funny Abi...never even made the news here... probably too embarrasing
  20. I think there is an incredibly huge canyon between "understanding" and "accepting". A lot of people believe understanding = accepting. I don't. That being said, what might be really important is to find a way to accept something...without fully understanding. Another (maybe too obviuos) point is that your need to understand is not so much a need to understand as it a need to feel like you are surrounded by people going in the same direction as you. NO One person here is going in the same direction...some are similar ...some are very much NOT similar....none is less valued or purposeful, but how to accept that is not easy after working hard at rejecting what the Way had shoved down our throat. just my .02
  21. If we all waited to "UNDERSTAND" why people do what they need to do....we would be waiting a long time I certainly have moved on with my life...ask anybody who deals with me on the outside of greasespot. But validation and judgment of what is "morally" or ethically the right way to handle multiple experiences is singleminded and frankly aligns with egoist subjective ethics...not a real effective system -for making decisions in a pluralistic society such as greasepot. Lianne Pierce
  22. no - 1. no one can decide what it takes for another to heal 2. when you know something is evil....should you not tell anyone? 3. Open forums are for non-way things....and many posters only post there. 4. I keep checking "about the way"because this is where many come out of the closet if you will. 5. Where else are ya gonna talk about the way...when you need/want (I hated typing that) to do that...many people ONLY have the internet to that The one thing I know I learned by going through my "way" experience is how wrong it is to judge where others are at or why they do what they do. I can make judgements like, I dont plan on talking -hanging out with or communication with so'n'so, but I wont jump to conclusions about them. Lianne Pierce PS I also come to this particuler forum in hopes That one day, there will be a post...."Way out of Business" Yepper...almost as good as Christ coming back!
  23. Yeah, 5 years out now for me and the houndog and now and then we see waaybrainednness, but for the most part, having stayed away form any of the off shoots and any other hign maintenance group, it has not been hard. washingtonweaather
