Assuming that you are correct (I don't recognize the song, but so what?), you are to post the first line of a song that you expect most people will recognize from that line. (Obviously, don't use a song whose title is the first line!)

I believe at one point we expanded it to include songs that could be instantly recognized from a catch phrase that was not in the opening line. Like "The butter wouldn't melt so I put it in the pie." (Hands Across the Water) But, it's bulwinkls' thread so maybe he can clarify that point.

Yes WordWolf, One of my very favorite songs. Hopes the memories are good ones. Your answer, of course, is spot on. Your go!

I agree with you about "Who's Nect" and äqualung". I'm more familiar with The Doors by their catalog than which song is on what album, but I know enough to know you just mentioned "L.A. WOMA

Cindy!
Here is the entire first stanza....(hint, it's a country song, male artist)
Here you come knockin’ on my door baby
Tell me what you got on your mind
I guess those college boys all went home for the summertime
And you’re lookin’ right, lookin’ good, lookin’ like a woman should
So why is it so hard to find
A place to lay your pretty little head down once in a while
You run on a little tough luck baby
Don’t you sweat it
Everything is waiting inside for you
You know I got it
Come and get it

You and I must make a pact
(Cindy - This game works by giving the first line of the song and the title is not part of the first line.)

Tis fine with me, a catch phrase as long as the title isn't included.

I think it is Dylan. Although, "Any Way the Wind Blows" by the Mothers of Invention comes to mind
