Where is God

Recommended Posts

Of those that believe in God, regardless of the denomination, I think that you will find that the vast majority think that God is everywhere or everything or simply in everything. Not many religions today still hold God in a physical form and I think fewer still look to pin the tail on Him so to speak. But that is just my opinion.

Thanks for your post Eyesopen,

That really opens up many things,

or can open up many things.

If God is everywhere and in everything then that's quite the thing to ponder.

There are so many things, I suppose everything includes everything.

Emotions, people, happenings, it covers a lot of ground...and air...above and below

God first

Beloved cman

God loves you my dear friend

What a great question "Where is God?" one could also ask "Where is God not?" but back to your question that is meek and to the point

I loved Eyesopen answer to you

I would say God is everything but I would add God is even the things that are not things at all

I would say God is everywhere but I would add God is even the places that are no where

God is within and without

God is on all seven realms of space

God looks over the darkness of flesh from the light of spirit

God even between the spaces of space

I will stop now to see where this ends up so I can see the back side of God

thank you

with love and a holy kiss blowing your way Roy

location

location

location

most old God books seem to say

in a very non-mythic and literal way

that "God" is simply

always

already

here

now

or it aint God

as if to say

that if wherever we describe God to be now

is not something simply obviously here now too

then we are not talking about a universal God at all

but an image we have of God

often in the form of some magical wish, ethnocentric script, or rational experience

huge differences

sometimes it shows when we argue with each other over "the divine" in 3rd person voice only

as if whatever HE/SHE/IT/GOD somehow aint already always here now witnessing every fool word

seems clear that rejecting this "God who never seems to be here"

is a natural pastime of atheists

i honestly cant say i blame em

but i have also come to appreciate how underneath most every old wisdom tradition

there is some redeemable form of effective practice or method that "points to a God that is already always here"

almost as if one could weigh the quality of a spiritual system by the quality of its "pointer"

oddly enough...these methods involve a process of both subtraction and addition

such as Roy's "where is God not?"

this wisdom trancends any ethnic name for God

or name for God's location

...

of course, "where" is only one dimension of seeking God

...as who, what, when, why and how are quite wide open as well

Say Rhino, is that a velvet painting? That would make a fine addition to my collection.

No way .. it goes across the room from my "Dogs playing Poker" ... in velvet picture. :biglaugh:

Yeah, it does look like velvet .. I figured people keep reporting Elvis sightings, and they always seem very inspired ... and his movies seem more popular than Jesus' ... so maybe he is God.

But I don't know where he is .... he hasn't been by here in weeks.
