Your favorite mixed drinks, and how to make them

Here is my Killer Margarita recipe:

2 cups of ice

1 cup of Tequila

1/4 cup of Triple Sec

1/2 can or 6 oz. limeade concentrate

1/2 can or 6 oz. water

juice of 1 lemon

salt and lime wedges

Put the ice in a blender, and add the Tequila and Triple Sec. Take your lemon and joice it, giving the ice and liquor a bit of time to start mixing. Add the limeade and water, blend on high until the whole mixture is a nice slush, pour into Margarita glasses, salt the rims and garnish with lime wedges and enjoy!

To change it up, add a bit more Triple Sec, or switch the Tequila for Amaretto - the flavor is not biting like a Margarita - it's nice and mellow.

So does anyone else have a good mixed drink recipe that you'd like to share?

Tropitinis are my favorite!

They consist of

1 Shot Skyy Vanilla Vodka

1 Shot Malibu Coconut Rum

Splash of Pineapple Juice

Pour all ingredients over ice and shake, don't stir. icon_wink.gif;)-->

Watch out; they go down easy. It's a lot of alcohol at once. I tried Parrot Bay Coconut Rum once, but it doesn't taste as good.

Flaming Green Dragon

1 jigger Bacardi 151 Rum

1/2 jigger Green Creme de Menthe

1 jigger vodka

Mix all three in a short wide-mouth glass, ignite and drink.

This one is where you learn to drink while exhaling. Also it is a good idea to sneak up on this one from underneath, never ‘look down’ at the glass and if you have facial hair smooth it down first (as stray hairs will first ignite themselves and then they will ignite the rest). If you have everclear, you can bring the Cr?-de-Menthe up to a full jigger so long as you add a ½ jigger of everclear. The additional Cr?-de-menthe will ‘smooth’ the dragon’s bite. But without the additional everclear, it will also extinguish the flame.

I was introduced to this, while serving on-board various subs in Holy-Loch Scotland. If you do not use the ‘smooth’ version, then you may require a cold beer on hand to sooth your throat afterward. When challenged to match someone ‘drink-for-drink’ I usually pick ‘Flaming Green Dragons’. They will often desire to stop the challenge soon afterward.

I don't know the name of this one - or if it even has one - but if you like stout beer...

1 draft can of Young's Double Chocolate Stout

2 oz. of rasberry lambic (a fermented fruit and beer concoction from Belgium)

Pour about half of the stout into your mug, add the lambic, add the rest of the stout. It has this chocolate / raspberry taste that's out of this world! Great winter suds!

UNCLE HAIRY'S HOMEMADE SANGRIA WINE;

Chop up the following fruit and place into a large pitcher.

1 peach, 1 plum, 1 lime, 1 orange, 1 apple

add...1 cinamon stick and 2 tablespoons of sugar

add...1 cup of your favorite rum and 1 bottle of sweet red wine (blackberry wine is good), and about 2 shots of orange liquer.

Fill the picture the rest of the way up with ice, stir well and let it sit in the refridgerator for at least 2 or 3 hours before drinking...

This stuff will make you sing funny songs.

I've never tried making it non-blended, because everyone I make them for likes it blended just fine.

But I imagine it would work. I think all you would need to do would be to add just a bit more water. But don't add the water unless you need to.

And even if it didn't turn out perfectly, it would still be pretty good! Why don't you let me know how it comes out?

Snakebite (UK version)

1/2 mug hard cider

1/2 mug lager

Serve chilled.

----------

I drink less now than I used to, and I never

drank a lot before.

That's one of the few I'll still drink-and a lot of places

don't have hard cider on tap, so it's a good excuse not to

drink alcohol. icon_smile.gif:)-->

Of course, if you're drinking at home, it doesn't take a lot

of skill to open a bottle of Sam Adams, a bottle of Hard cider,

and split them. You can even share, if nobody wanted a lot.

(Or open 2 more bottles if you wanted to get smashed.)
