Yes.

I'm thinking the song was "Karn Evil 9" or something like that...

I could REALLY be a pain and say that's not the ENTIRE name,

since about 1/2 the album or more had songs with that as a

partial title, but I say "close enough".

To be specific, this is Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (not Powell

if anyone remembers him)'s song

"Karn Evil 9, First Impression, Part II".

This is the one that gets played in sports stadiums, at least

the beginning.

Part I is hard to separate from the preceding song, and

Second and Third Impressions never get airplay because they

don't rate airplay.

==========

Tom, it's your move!

Well, I HAVE been to sporting events, but I've certainly never heard these WORDS. Is this the song that has low brass playing a slow, downward chromatic scale? (Daahhhh, di-daahhhh, di-daahhh, di-dah, dun-dun)

No, I think you mean the one with the "hey"s in it.

That's Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll Part II."

A different part 2.

This one begins with the lines

"Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends,

We're so glad you could attend, come inside come inside..."

It's a fairly famous rock song, gets airplay, and I myself have heard it played

at stadiums. It's been around since the 70s.

But it's Tom's turn.

Okay... some more...

Squalls out on the gulf stream, Big storm's comin' soon,

Passed out in my hammock, God I slept 'til way past noon,

Stood up and tried to focus, I hoped I wouldn't have to look far,

I knew I could use a bloody mary, So I stumbled next door to the bar.

And now I must confess, I could use some rest.

I can't run at this pace very long.

Yes it's quite insane, I think it hurts my brain.

But it cleans me out and then I can go on.

Here's one for Raf wink2.gif;)-->

Friday night and the lights are low

Looking out for the place to go

Where they play the right music, getting in the swing

You come in to look for a king

Anybody could be that guy

Night is young and the music’s high

With a bit of rock music, everything is fine

You’re in the mood for a dance

And when you get the chance...

I'll add the two lines on either side for you... remember, it's for Raf so, though it's not a show tune... it might as well be!

The x's are the title, and no, I do not like this song... it's an instant "tune out" whenever I hear it (probably is for you as well!)

You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life

See that girl, watch that scene, dig in the xxxxxxx xxxxx.

You are the xxxxxxx xxxxx, young and sweet, only seventeen

xxxxxxx xxxxx, feel the beat from the tambourine
