I'm not 100% sure but I think Donna is his wife.

Well, actually, there is a whole story behind B.B. naming his guitars(yes, there have been multiples)

Lucille.

He tells the story on a couple of his recordings.

He did not know Lucille and, in fact, never even met her.

She was a barmaid at a juke joint where he had a very harrowing experience one night.

He names his guitars Lucille to remind him to never make the same mistake that almost cost him his life that night.

Now back to Ronnie.

I know he credits his wife with supporting him and helping him work through some very trying times as he battled with addiction and depression.

BUT!--Is her name Donna?----Not sure.

BB is an incredible man. I never had the pleasure of seeing him live but even in his concert where he had to sit down and play and was notably aging he was the best according to our buddy Rick who saw him not too many years back. In fact not to tell tales out of school but Rick said there will be two days of terrible mourning for him some day, one when his mother passes away whom he loves and respects and one when BB has played his last chord and closes his eyes.

But back to Ronnie, he is very relaxing to listen to, just puts you at ease with his playing. Thank you again for bringing him here to us.

I was going to tell you all the story (for those who don't know) of how Lucille got her name. I know the story by heart, as B.B. is one of my biggest hero's. But I found something even better. :) Let BB Himself tell you the story!

OK another BANJO question, I'm looking to get a Banjo tuner tomorrow. Which is better - a clip on or a plain vanilla tuner.?

I know, Banjo's are really never in tune but I'm going to at least start each session with mine having some semblance of being in tune,

Hey there Out There. :) I've got a couple of digital tuners.

The clip on tuners are good for when (and if) you are on stage.

If you hear a string that's a bit off -- you can check it right then and there (if it's clipped on).

Being a clip on -- none of the sound coming from any of the other instruments will affect the tuning.

(This is good in jam sessions too when others are playing all around you).

I've got a Korg chromatic tuner (model CA-30) which I carry in the fiddle case.

You can get this for less than 20 bucks, and it's a very good one.

(ACTUAL SIZE)

You can get this contact microphone (sometimes called a tuner *roach clip*)

for about 12 bucks that plugs into the jack down there where it says INPUT.

With the cord -- it acts the same way as a clip on tuner does.

It allows the tuner to bypass any sound interference in the room,

and allows the tuner to *focus* on the one string you are wanting to tune.

This is the main tuner I use (with the clip when in jam sessions)

I also have one of the Intellitouch clip on tuners,

but it isn't as good as the CA-30 with the *roach clip* attachment.

Oh --- also --- this tuner will work for ANY stringed instrument.

Guitar, mandolin fiddle, banjo, bouzouki, dobro, etc., etc.

I've tuned my piano with it as well -- although the tuner won't *register*

the extremely high or low notes on the keyboard.

JLD bridge system. is anyone here familiar with it. I picked up a guitar that looks like it had been sitting aroud for it's 30 or so years. the bridge has the issue that this product states will fix. I was thinking of ordering one if it would at least help correct the problem partially. Write ups are good but hearing from some one who has first hand knowledge is better. Other than that the guitar is in great shape for it's age. Changed out nut + saddle put new tuning machines on it.
