Greetings. How many of us have heard the Rapture is a “signless” event? This thread is about: 1. The Mystery of God/The Hope of Glory/The Rapture: The Torah and the Book of Revelation—and the agreement of Moses & John, the prophets, apostles, and Christ. 2. God must follow His own Law. To set the stage for this thread, let me pose a few Bible questions: 1. What are the 2 incorrect assumptions extracted from 1 Thessalonians 5:1, 2, which yield this faulty conclusion: The Rapture is “signless” because Christ is coming as a “thief”? 2. Why did Peter quote Joel (2:28-32a) on Pentecost, and why did Peter stop at Joel 2:32a, and why does the blood red moon (again) “appear” at the Sixth Seal (Rev. 6:12)? 3. How is the Rapture connected to the mystery once hidden in “the feasts of the Lord” —Rosh Hashanah/The Feast of Trumpets—and in what letter did Christ reveal the first 5 holy days that apply to the glorious riches of the mystery: “Christ in you, the hope of glory”? 4. Christ said: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one dot or one mark will pass from the law until all be fulfilled.” (Matt. 5:17, 18) ... Where in the Book of Revelation is Christ’s prophecy fulfilled completely? These questions are here as a catalyst for thought, and will be addressed in this thread. The “Rapture” (Latin: Rapiemur), (1 Thess. 4:17) is sound doctrine; it is the revelation of the mystery—our future “salvation”/“hope of glory”—and will come to pass exactly as Christ revealed to Peter, Paul, and John: at the commencement of the Day of the Lord. “Signless” has no scriptural justification. If you already know the answers to the above questions, jump in. We—as Christ’s Church—deserve to know the heavenly and earthly signs that mark the next unmistakable threshold in time: the Day of the Lord & the Rapture. Do you know someone still uncertain about the sound doctrine of the mystery/the Hope of Glory, the Rapture? Ask him/her to stop by. Peace. revvel

I can put some of these pieces together but not all of them. Clark Gable inspired the Bugs Bunny habit of talking with your mouth full of carrot, but to the best of my knowledge he never said "What's Up Doc," the name of a 1970s comedy. 1972? I don't know. So I'm going to go minimalist and say It Happened One Night inspired a major character trait of Bugs Bunny, speaking with his mouth full of carrot. Final answer.

I figured that highlighting "a week" would be enough of a hint. Yes, "7 Days." A time sphere can send a "chrononaut" back in time seven days after some sort of catastrophe in order to try to prevent it. Since the chrononaut checks in with the central command seven days before anything will have happened, he says the word "conundrum" to let them know that he was coming in for a debrief and to plan further actions. When the 9/11 attacks occurred, it made me really wish someone could have done that, stopping the hijackers (and maybe popping Bin Laden in his cave). George

It would seem so on the surface, but we must remember as freedom loving Americans that any form of total government may start inoffensive and exciting at first but turns out to be a tyranny later. Remember that old saying from Lord Acton: "power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely." -
In 1934, the movie "It Happened One Night" appeared in theaters, and was a commercial success. However, unlike other movies that were simply a commercial success, that movie was indirectly responsible for the debut of something that entered US culture and was important for decades.... and is still recognized world-wide. What did it inspire, and what things in the movie inspired it? (No looking things up, please, that's cheating.) Some thing(s) in the content of the movie were indirectly responsible for something whose origin and first appearance in US culture (where it still remains). Much of it has to do with Clark Gable's performance, and all of it could be learned in a viewing of the movie. ("Hey, I've never noticed this before, but...") The name also came from this movie, but not from Clark Gable's performance. Furthermore, children all over the US- and far too many adults- have been/are operating with a factual error, because of something that was inspired. ("Wow, I always thought that [redacted], but it's not true at all.") Also, this is recognizable around the world, both by name and by appearance, so everyone on this thread is at least familiar with the answer, even if it isn't your jam - although we have fans on this thread. As an example of how much this became a part of US culture, one thing that came out of that movie and inspired what I'm talking about inspired the name of a movie from 1972. Most people would probably hear that movie's title and not think of "It Happened One Night"- they would think of [the answer to this round], and I would expect that's what they'd think. It's what I thought until now, myself.

"Now, would you like to learn to shoot?" "I can already." "Oh, I saw. Very American. Fire enough bullets and hope to hit the target." "I may have been overly rude earlier... when I called you a pirate." "And I may have been overly charitable... when I said I wasn't. But I try to live in the now... where the ghosts of old wrongs do not abide." "This hunt is too dangerous for a woman, even one such as you. Leave it to me." "What are you?" "I'm complicated."

Those are not the only alternatives. Christian Nationalism is not dissimilar to Jihadism/Islamic Nationalism. It's all theocracy, whether by Doug Wilson or Mullah Omar. Mainstream/Fundamentalist/Conservative Christianity is not Christian Nationalism. -
Taking a wild swing here... "7 Days"????

"Friends are those who show up with a six-pack, not dressed up as one of the Brooks Brothers". "I also do circumcision"! Not very sporting to fire on an unarmed opponent. I have waited almost two years for a sign from God. So when I heard the morning bells of Aquila, I knew the moment of my destiny had come. You will be my guiding angel. I'm merging your department with Archives, and I am firing you. Didn't you get the memo? There's something else about bears not many people know. If a bear gets hooked on the taste of human blood, it becomes a man-killer. He'll go on a rampage and has to be destroyed. And that's why you should never hug a bear. The Alpha intergalactic space station has reached critical mass in orbit. Its weight and size now poses a serious threat to mother Earth. In its great wisdom, the Central Committee has decided to use all resources necessary to release the space station from Earth's gravity. Its new course is set with the Magellan Current.

This show aired from 1998-2001. I wonder if I was the only one on 9/11/2001 who thought it would have been great to go back a week and stop the attack before it happened. Norman Lloyd's character in the series is named Isaac Mentnor. It's a hint for Marvel Comics, where Isaac actually is I.S.A.A.C. (short for Integral Synaptic Anti-Anionic Computer), a sentient program capable to create robotic forms that rules Titan, Jupiter's moon. I.S.A.A.C. was created by Mentor, leader of the Titans and Thanos' father. When Project Backstep is in play, the password is "Conundrum." An Australian actor portrayed the main American character, and a Brit played the Russian female lead. The two actors did NOT get along on set. The woman quit in the middle of the third season after agreeing to film a few scenes to close her character's arc. Her departure induced UPN not to renew for another season. George

Sun Gym Gang -- I was educated on bodybuilders' regular use of steroids to compete -- didn't think that it was tolerated and routinely allowed even though its banned. One of those rules that nobody pays attention to I guess -- but they really should legalize it since they're not enforcing the ban... IMO.

I very much enjoyed Monte's account of her experiences in Savannah - America's Most Haunted City. She said that roads are paved over old cemeteries and ancient burial grounds -- not surprising to me that the city has spiritual problems?

Because it isn't a matter of faith, atheism has nothing to do with faith. But I suppose I didn't think it was a matter of faith, but I understand how there is an atheist thread I overlooked in the matters of faith section.
