  1. Thanks, Waysider and Shellon. Yes, it does feel good. The final exam (online) only took me 21 minutes to complete. 100 questions and I had a 2-hour window to complete it. I made 194 out of 200 points for the final!!! I called most of my family and my friends that evening to tell them the good news. My online class had a running total for my test scores, so I immediately knew my finals grade and my overall grade. Having owned businesses with my husband for many years helped tremendously with this class, I must admit!!!
  2. Ham, yes, I am going for an associate in business administration for now. I just completed my first course, Intro to Business, and finished with a 99.32% overall. I am ecstatic, to say the least!!!! I see my adviser on Aug 5 to sign up for my next classes, which I hope to be Principles of Marketing and English 101. Leafy, I am turning 53 on Monday. It is never too late!!! Go for it!!!
  3. Well, erkjohn, I guess it is ok for the bigwigs in twi to send their children to college. Look on Facebook and you will find a bunch of them, most all of them listing a college!!!
  4. Ham, I clicked on graduated Assoc. Degree, because my option, just getting started, wasn't on the list. This coming week will be my FIRST finals for my Intro to Business internet course through my local community college. I love it. My grade is over 100% right now due to a couple extra assignments I completed. I meet with my adviser next month to enroll in my next class(es). I LOVE IT!!!!
  5. GT, Thanks for bringing this up. I have wanted to start a thread about it but never have. I have the same questions. A former way person in my hometown died last month. She was 49. There are so many more examples as evidenced in the memorium section. Shell, I feel for you and your girls. The Way bigwigs went to doctors but we weren't supposed to go. Just believe God. Well, I believe God and go to the dr!!!!!!!!
  6. T-bone, thanks for the morning laugh!!!!!!! Excie, your reply is good, also. Tzaia, I will check out your post later. It should be interesting.
  7. Thanks, Roy, for the morning laugh!!!
  8. Happy Belated Birthday, Rascal. You have indeed come a long way in the past 30 years. I started my internet class this week, Intro to Business. Venture down to 'politics' and read my thread if you have time. Contribute if you will, also!!!!!!
  9. So sorry I missed your birthday. Hope it was G R E A T !!!!!!!!! The baby is asleep for the moment. He will start daycare M, W, Fr next month so I will only have him Tu & Th. I am going to miss him but I start college at the end of this month so that will keep me busy!! An online course, Intro to Business. We haven't been back to Memphis since we met that time for dinner. Sarah is 8 1/2 now & is acting so grown up!!!!! We have been to AR of course. Hope to see you again.

    Wanna buy a truck?

Yeah, Ron, you are doing great on the toys. I listed a Poole Truck Line tractor trailer from the mid 80's and got $32.00, I think, from it. I was shocked to say the least. It wasn't the Poole Truck Line logo but the brand name of the unit that is collectible. It was given to me by the company so I did pretty well!! Linda, ads seem to be everywhere nowadays!! :( Glad to hear your dad is doing well. My dad is 86 and has a girlfriend!!!
  11. Congratulations, Ham!!!! I know you are very excited, as I am for you. Yesterday, I signed up for my first college course for this summer, Intro to Business. It should be a piece of cake as hubby & I have owned businesses for about 11 years total. Again, I am so happy for you. Hard work pays off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great thread, Zixar. Congrats on all of you who have had wonderful things happen. Last nite, I took the COMPASS test for college. I made 99 on writing, 95 on reading, and 52 on algebra. The instructor said that I passed!! I won't have to take any refresher courses. I have been out of school for 35 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited.

    Another Poll

Happy New Year to all of you Greasespotters!!!!!!!!! My little boy has not arrived for me to take care of him, so I have a few minutes to post!!!!! GS Cafe is still viable, IMHO. I still read it almost every day, but rarely post. I read the prayer forum and pray for those in need. I also read the other forums. Paw, you have been great and I appreciate your time and expense in keeping this place running. However, if you need to move on, you and GS Cafe will be SORELY missed by many. Be safe today and everyday. God bless all of you.

    easy gift

Templelady, I had to sign on and comment!!!!!!!! I love to knit. I have made MANY scarfs for people. Here are 4 scarves I made 2 years ago being proudly worn by sisters, mom & me. Hats for preemies and newborn babies for the Hospital, etc. Currently, I am knitting with Caron yarn (glimmer, I think it is called). Caron had a free pattern with the yarn, called Bias Scarf. At first it required concentration, but know I am breezing right along. I will try to post a pic when I am done. I think your pattern is great also. I have TONS of different types of yarn, so I could make one. Last Christmas (I love to say CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!) I felted a purse for my sister-n-law. She loved it so much she taught herself to knit!!!! Each Tuesday, Baby and I go to a knitting circle. He is now 16 months old and he puts on a show for those ladies. Then some of us go out to eat. Today a customer of ours (thanks to one of my knitting ladies) was at the shop. Hubby introduced Baby and me to him. Baby Isaiah smiled and made funny faces and blew him a kiss. Now he understands why the ladies love him so. Anyway, thanks for brightening my day!!!!!!
  18. This is the Nostalgia thread, after all, so a bit of reminiscing is ok??? We are mostly ok. Isaiah's mom, dad, and brother are sick so he is spending the nite with us. I just got him to sleep in his crib. He is an absolute doll baby. I will pass the word on and give the hug to hubby. It is hard not to be gracious toward you, my dear!!! Hope all is well with you and yours. Debbie & Stephen just returned from a scub@ diving trip. They are doing well. P@ula is coming around more and more. MA read the Losing the Way book and was quite astounded as most of us were and are, I guess. Judy's family is growing by leaps and bounds. Ms Cleo is still alive, 95 now, I think. I will be going to AR again this year when the antique show is going on. Sarah will be 8. OK, enough of reminiscing. Back to the topic at hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey SUDO!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, I knew when I offered that coffee that you didn't drink coffee. Somewhere in my mind, I knew it, but said it anyway. Ok, let's have a coke. The couch is still where it was last time you were here, but we have lots of toys and a toy box in the way now!!!!!!!!!
  19. Hey Chatty!!!!!! How are you?????? Hubby and I just got home from Lexington where we saw the KY Wildcats (football) game yesterday. IT WAS FUN!!!!!! Isaiah is now 15 months old. We are going to Book Babies, a book=reading, that lasts till May on Wednesdays. That should be interesting. Welcome back to GS..... let me buy you a cup of coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Make Room For...

Congrats, Raf!!! You will make a GREAT daddy. I just know it!!!! Babies are so sweet.
  21. I loved Kristen's writing style. I felt as if I were with her through all of her tragedies. She wrote just like most of us were trained to think. I loved/hated those parts because I relived a major part of my life through her writing. " The assurance I seek is in the Word. I try to feel it. I try to grasp the meaning until my mind aches.", pg 109. How many of us have done that? Trying so hard to make things make sense, but of course, don't rely on our 5 senses. blah blah blah.... Kristen, I am so saddened that you endured all the physical, mental, and sexual abuse throughout most of your life. BUT I am very thankful that you were able to get professional help. Thank you for writing this book. Thank you for telling it like it hasn't been told since the first century. Sorry, I just had to say that. Seriously, people need to know the truth. If you help just one person see VP (and others) for the lowlife that he was, I think it is worth it. I have said in other threads that TWI did not ruin my life, and it didn't. I made several decisions (based on TWI teachings or recommendations) that I have lived to regret however. I am so sorry for what so MANY precious Christians and others suffered at the hands of The Way International organization's bigwigs and littlewigs, mog wannabees, etc..
  22. Happy Birthday, Raf. Hope it is a super great one!!!!!! 39 wow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the help that you have given me in the past. I won't forget it.

    Nashville Star

dmiller, you are so right. You really need to plan your vacation around this weekend some time. It is the 2nd weekend in AUGUST every year. As I said before, it is free, free parking, etc. I love bluegrass music LIVE moreso than just listening to it on the radio or whatever. My nephew made us a CD of the radio show when he was on WSM-FM. I forget the guy's name that interviewed him. We haven't listened to it yet, as we did hear the interview live. Eddie Stubbs is the guy's name. LONG LIVE COUNTRY AND BLUEGRASS MUSIC.

    Nashville Star

RG, the festival is in my hometown of Henderson, KY!!! The festival is in Central Park which is full of shade trees. We do go to Nashville though a few times a year. Hubby's niece lives there, but we just LOVE Nashville. Plus, Isaiah's daddy sometimes gets us tickets to the Grand Ole Opry. Anyway, sure wish you lived close by as hubby won't be able to go to the festival with me. Let me know which performer who want to make it all the way!!!!!!!!
