  1. Perhaps.. "da word, da word, and nuttin but da word" wasn't splashy, or controversial enough, to SELL.
  2. I remember part of the story, where he was a self-promoted "expert" in gas chambers and executions at a trial. Judge: "what degree do you have, that qualifies you as a SCIENTIFIC expert?" Leuchter: "umm, well, it's in history.." The scary part about this history "afficianado" turned junk scientist.. some people actually BELIEVE his blather..
  3. Leuchter, Leuchter.. name rings a bell.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_A._Leuchter Some honeymoon.. what a "maroon"..
  4. When you go back to school, and don't condemn yourself for abandoning your "true calling" of sitting in endless meetings, door to door and mall witnessing, running classes and cleaning leadership's houses.
  5. It's not just limited to cats.
  6. This is one of the songs that spoke to me.. If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break When The Levee Breaks I'll have no place to stay. Mean old levee taught me to weep and moan Lord mean old levee taught me to weep and moan Got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home Oh well oh well oh well. Don't it make you feel bad When you're tryin' to find your way home You don't know which way to go? If you're goin' down South They go no work to do, If you don't know about Chicago. Cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good, Now, cryin' won't help you, prayin' won't do you no good, When the levee breaks, mama, you got to move. All last night sat on the levee and moaned, All last night sat on the levee and moaned, Thinkin' 'bout me baby and my happy home. Going, go'n' to Chicago, Go'n' to Chicago, Sorry but I can't take you. Going down, going down now, going down.
  7. Thanks for the link George.. Copyright??How can you copyright a spirit? Let's say the spirit chooses to channel through the next door neighbor instead.. unless the spirit signed off on some kind of contract, it would seem that a person would have no legal recourse.. I can understand somebody selling a book.. at a reasonable price. But.. I guess she rakes in millions with this.. I think some people have had some real experiences.. don't know if this lady really did or not, but it seems if you mix it with money and massive organization, it turns to poison.
  8. Hmmm. Are you sure they are still alive?
  9. I got involved in the community. I looked into one of the civic organizations that shared my interests, the local radio club. I made a few friends in the process. Next.. I did something that I NEVER EVER would do in the ministry.. and I won't tell it here. But maybe that's a step in the right direction. I'd say, do something you wouldn't do.. go to a Univeralist church, something.. you won't get "possessed".. :) Once I sat through a couple of Universalist services without trying to beat it to death with a bible. They seemed to be OK.. I also went back to school, and picked up my path in life that I left off when I got involved in the ministry.
  10. Now THAT'S nuts. And "they" can't prove this is da will of god, without using circular reasoning. Oh, I've never seen that particular organization reverse itself with this little statement.. I can live believing nothing.. or everything.. or something in between, or even change it all next week. I think the "some of us" don't have the stability required to live like that. They have to be anchored to some dogma so tightly that they would kill for it.
  11. With very few exceptions, I think a person can't find that kind of friendship on the internet.
  12. I think that about says it all. I've seen people let people cross lines online that they ordinarily would not allow in person. Then the face to face meeting can be a nightmare..
  13. Well, at the worst George.. these beliefs are no more insane than any other. :) Maybe even a little less insane.. I wouldn't kill anybody over them..
  14. Those who witnessed his behavior around the time of POP suggested the same thing, if I remember correctly..

    Man and Nature

I tried mind-melding with a "biig cat" once.. I still have the scars to prove it.. Oh yeah.. number three above.. I've seen that one before. The guy dumped doe urine on himself.. friggin idiot..
  16. But I still haven't lost my brain to not consider the facts carefully. Just not afraid to.. :
  17. The guy is a graduate of Columbia University and Yale medical school.. smart guy. Of course the "traditionalists" would say, "well, the spurts sure are smart, aren't they, to trick the man." That's what I would say twenty years, or even ten ago, but I am not entirely convinced of that any more. One thing I can say about years in der vey, I NEVER saw anything like this, at least of this caliber, to convince me of anything. Just a lot of name calling.. calling devilish anything that didn't line up with their theology .

    A la Prochaine

Happy birthday, friend! And Socks, I thought you knew better than getting a lady's age wrong..
  19. well, congratualtions! He sure looks happy there.. congratulations to you too. Kids can do a lot, but without good parents, it can be a lot harder.
  20. Looks like congratualtions are in order for somebody here.. what's the medal for? honors? band? Maybe sports?
  21. Well maybe you're right. Yeah, not nuts.. but I don't want people to take me too seriously.. I sure don't want to start a church, or a Squirrel cult or something.. hmm. don't want people to be too afraid, either.. I'm glad you enjoyed the thread.
  22. :) Well friend.. I've chosen the persona of a squirrel for a few reasons. main reason, number one: 1. Who in their right mind is going to follow a squirrel? I KNOW I'm nuts. well, that does have it's advantages.. considering there are ALL KINDS of nuts in Ohio, especially New Knoxville.. that may be the perfect place to relocate..
  23. In a strange kinda way, I think next time he's gonna be a "nice guy".. willing to take a few insults, choosing not to use his power over others, when he could.. well, one could wish. At this point in life it isn't his choice anymore.
  24. I would take it a step even further. Perhaps cats really do rule the universe.. all of those additional lives. A friend of mine admitted as much. He told me, "the cat owns the house, and allows us to stay here.." :) This cat from Podunk Michigan was a celebrity. If it wans't feeling well, they'd get calls from Indiana, Texas, all over the place. No kidding.
  25. True, true. And I hope they have proved educational to some, and amusing to others.
