  1. I have the time warp as a ringtone. Pink is for girls--Blue is for a$$holes!!
  2. Dot, Stupid question................... Have you asked God to send you someone again?
  3. I was born and raised Epicopalian, graduated from Catholic schools, took the class, and was "in" for 7 years. Did a CG type fellowship for awhile and found my needs weren't being met so I went to a CES type church after that. After I moved to E. Tennessee, I visited an assemblies of God church and loved the praise and worship but found the sermons lacked the "meat" I was used to after TWI. My daughter was attending a Baptist boarding school nearby and she started going to a large church on Wed. nights and then ended up joining the youth chior. I began attending with her when she had to sing and such and then as I was sitting in a service one morning, I saw in the bulletin where the pastor was going to teach on a certain subject that evening. That evening as he began his sermon, he said about two words and then paused and said, "No". (You could almost see the wheels turning in his head). He preached on something totally different that was in the bulletin. Shot it right from the hip. After being in TWI and having been told that the Holy Spirit is absent from the pulpit (except in TWI). What I saw that evening broke some of the strongholds that had bound me for many years. The sermons were meatier too. I took the plunge (literally) and joined that church until the Lord led me to a smaller church where He made it clear that I was to teach 3 and 4 year olds. I didn't want to, but I trusted Him and it has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Never in a million years would I have thought I would have ended up at a Baptist church, but well, there it is.
  4. Dot, I'm in TN and would LOVE to go next year to the women's conference. My WOW sister lives in ST Louis and it would be awesome to see her.
  5. Dot, I have that book and it didn't save my marriage but it saved me. Her books have really improved my prayer life. My husband has the Power of a Praying Husband and we both pray for our exes on a daily basis. If the church you are visiting is only concerned about membership, then keep looking. God will lead you to the best place to get your needs met and you will know when you are there. You will feel at home. I went to a 4000 member church for six years and always felt at home there. They ministered to me during and after my childrens abduction. There came a time when the Lord wanted me to start serving elsewhere, He led me to a much smaller church (about 200 members) and I feel at home again.

    Beth Moore

I have taken 2 Beth Moore seminars and enjoyed them both. I'm not saying I agreed with everything but her humility is awesome. As far as the greek thing goes, you might have to remember that the majority of "church-going" women who take these classes pretty much leave the research to the teacher, pastor, or sunday school teacher. She does the research but then there is homework every night (in the form of a workbook), and I saw miracles with these women because of the close personal relationship with Him that they developed over the seminar. She doen't get it all right but then, who does? --Jesus--

It's only trivial to those who can do it, I'm sure at one time for you that was considered the top of the mountain. Congrats.

    Southern Heritage

I am from the pacific northwest, born and raised there. I was sent to the south in 1982 as a WOW and never went back--except to visit. I love the genial manner of most people, the true "southern hospitality". It's an attitude here. No matter what place of business you visit, the proprietor (or whomever) says, "Come back and see us!" and means it. When you talk about the way of southerners, I think Charles Kuralt said it best in his book aptly titled Southerners A Portrait Of A People "In the South, the breeze blows softer...neighbors are friendlier, nosier, and more talkative. (By contrast with the Yankee, the Southerner never uses one word when ten or twenty will do)...This is a different place. Our way of thinking is different, as are our ways of seeing, laughing, singing, eating, meeting and parting. Our walk is different, as the old song goes, our talk and our names. Nothing about us is quite the same as in the country to the north and west. What we carry in our memories is different too, and that may explain everything else." Nuf said

    New Horizons

Welcome Lori, I was in from '82-'89. Started my healing on Waydale. Have a cup of coffee and some pecan pie on me.
  14. The only time I ever had sleeping problems was during the time my kids were kidnapped and there was a contract on my life. I was staying (hiding) at a girlfriends house whose 33 year old husband had died the same day my kids were kidnapped. At 9:00 pm we would take a sleeping pill (ambien) and be out in 30 minutes or so. I usually would wake up around 2:30am and be up for the rest of the night while my girlfriend slept. My new husband is a narcoleptic and we're usually in a coma by 10pm. He takes medicine to keep himslf awake during the day.

  20. Divorced twice, married 7 years both times and 4 years in between.
  21. There is a phenomenon here in the smoky mountains happening this week. There is a species of fireflies that during mating season they all blink at the same time--really a sight to see. I'll be taking the kids on the trolley into the national park later this week to watch. I'm told that there are only two other places in the world that this happens.
  22. Anybody know the Whereabouts of Laura Gray? I was WOW with her in Charlotte her apprentice year.

  24. I remember him........................He and I rode over the Cascade mountains for our WOW meeting in the back of Chris Shaws' pickup. BRRRRRRRRRRRR. We were from Spokane and we had to do our one-on-one meetings with Randy Freese. What a blast from the past.................................circa:1982 I haven't been back to Spokane in a few years but I'm hoping to get back there soon.
