I have a friend who races at Loudon and I go up there to watch the races. Next time I go will probably be weekend of July 29-30. I tend to stay away from rallies because they're so crowded, but I like Americade at Lake George. There, if you plan accordingly, you can test ride various brands of bikes as well as attend the Tour Expo. On Thursday June 9, it was raining for most of the day but I was able to test ride the Moto Guzzi Breva and Kawasaki Ninja 650R. Day before, I test rode the Kawasaki ZX-14 (perhaps the fastest consumer production bike right now) and the Victory Touring Cruiser. Nice bikes. New Hampshire is such a beautiful state. We went up there a couple of months ago and tried to get into Smuggler's Notch but it was closed due to ice and snow still up there.

I am going away for the weekend so have fun.

To the best of my knowledge, for those who can't have their chosen symbol inscribed, they may have a word or phrase. When Dad died, we asked that a dove be inscribed on his gravestone at Calverton National Cemetary. Denied. But they did allow "Awaiting the Return". So we have that, and no symbol.

If you are talking about corps, I opine that Wierwille took corps commitments VERY seriously and as you pointed out, was a commitment unto the death. So when someone left or waivered on that commitment, it was thought of as a cop-out. This is different from your Joe Believer of twig who came once a week and sang and drank coffee and ate cookies and that's all he wanted to do. You/we made a "commitment" to the ministry, and Wierwille held that commitment in very high regard and the breaking of it was consequential in his mind. He also viewed the ministry as the 1st Century Church in the Twentieth, so therefore leaving the ministry you were leaving Jesus Christ. This is nothing new, and not unlike many other religions. The religion of my youth was similar...

Garth, how many times must you be told that this debate isn't about Dr. Wierwille's views? Is there something wrong with your comprehension abilities? He could have been wrong on this one too... and if he was.. he was wrong. But in the final analysis, this topic stands or falls on its own merits. Do you get it yet? Or is it impossible for you to talk about this topic without mentioning Victor Paul Wierwille? It's getting old, really. Anyway, I am going away on a motorcycle trip for a few days.. yeah! Thank you for the kind words DesertVis. Although I would like this debate to continue, as I believe it can have some profit; I wonder if it's really worth it, considering the strong and hurtful emotions it brings to some folks. If others wish to retire from this thread, so shall I.

Before he died, I asked my dad whether he thought 6,000,000 Jews were killed, and he didn't think so. Not that his opinion was authoritative, because he wasn't there when the alleged gassings/murders occurred. But he did see some of the bloodiest fighting at the time. He was in the Rhineland battle, thru France, then Germany. He told me tales of feeding a poor hungry little girl among the ruins, where daily, she'd come to ask for food. He won a number of medals, including two Purple Hearts. There is a book out there where you can read about some of his experiences. He's even quoted in the book. Rhineland-The Battle To End The War
