This is not only a condemnation of Wierwille, but thousands who are being falsely accused of idolatry.

Sounds like my twi experience. :)

I don't know. Hosea 4:6 says "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" When I was a young lad, maybe there was some love in the church of my youth, but certainly the knowledge I was assimilating just wasn't cutting it. I made sure I had my scapula on to be hopeful Mary'd pray for me. No guarantees of being God's child or even entering the kingdom. Some of you know the drill. Ex10, I second your thoughts about John Lynn...

Second James, Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I called STFI offices to help clear up this confusion, and had a nice chat with Jeff, who explained what's happening. Apparently the letter I received in the mail, did not contain a "gold flyer" that listed the choice about STFI "considering" free distribution. Whether that was an error on their part or an intentional omission, I do not know. But bottom line, it costs them $5,000 a month to distribute the magazine, and they feel the financial need to quit sending it to folks who have been receiving it for some time for free but who do not make donations. Folks like me. Apparently they want folks like me to either spit or get off the pot, that if we like the magazine, then distribute some loot, to help pay for it. If not, the magazine is still available via email, for free. Ya see since March 2002 I have been receiving this magazine for free and they cant afford to keep on subsidizing tightwads like me. But let's say someone who never heard of STFI wants to receive the magazine for free, .... they WILL send it for free for 6-9 months (as per Jeff's information to me), and then at that time, they will ask for a donation. ******************** I still feel the same way... I think they could print it less fancy, and perhaps distribute it for free without having to ask for contributions. But that's their call... it's their money.

And that we all will be living with God Himself, and Jesus, in the New Jerusalem, God's City. We will be able to see God Himself, somehow. (Rev. 21:3) I think that's so cool. :)

Jkboehme, Are you able to post a copy of the transcript of the proceedings?

I like that. In order to establish judgment and perspective, I believe both are necessary.

The article link I posted is talking about the current invasion, not the Gulf War, which was not U.S. invasion of Iraq, but a military action to get Iraq troops out of Kuwait. I don't "know" it, but I believe it is a strong possibility based upon the ongoing U.S. tradition of protecting Israeli interests. Evidence indicates they were there at one time, but Saddam moved/destroyed them, but then led U.S. and others to believe they were still there.Had the U.S. / Bush believed that Saddam not had the weapons, I don't think Bush would have ordered the invasion. I do believe a large part of the Gulf War was about oil, but I believe it had a dual purpose too in protecting Israel. Who were firing the Patriot Missiles at the Skuds? With respect to the current invasion, the fact that Mr. Zelikow was there consulting with the administration with folks making decisions on these things, and even willing to speak up about it which is so rare, should open some eyes.

I remember something about the guy who attacked Rather asked him "Kenneth what's the frequency?" :) I don't remember too well but my incident happened early 1980's or sometime around then.

During and right after the Gulf War, Iraq wasn't near developing WMD's & nuclear, so the U.S. didn't need to invade at that time. But remember the Patriots and the Skuds? And remember some Skuds hitting Israel? Had those skuds been WMD's, the U.S. would have invaded way before 1991 under the same concept ... to protect Israel. Once Iraq developed WMD's, the gravest threat was to Israel and who doubts Saddam would have used them based upon his previous use of the skuds hitting Israel.

Wow what a story. She'll likely remember that for the rest of her life. Years ago I was walking downtown Broadway in Manhattan, it was around 5:30 am. in the morning, and the streets were virtually desolate. All at once I see this dark haired guy with a blue suit, walking toward me. Walking around 25 feet behind him was a man in a trenchcoat wearing sunglasses, carrying a thick black briefcase. When I was around 20 feet away from the guy with the blue suit I look up, looked back down and had to do a double take. It was Richard Nixon...

I was reading the newspaper this morning and noticed that a Manhattan movie theatre pulled the trailer. They made the decision after viewers found it too upsetting.

No. But I'm happy to visit Mike's Basement Playroom. so much fun -
I would have scaled down the cost of producing the magazine ... it was nice receiving it for free and maybe it didn't have to be so fancy.

With respect to the Law of Believing, it would appear Dr. Wierwille learned this from Albert E. Cliffe. Only Cliffe called it "The Magic of Believing", instead of "The Law of Believing". Sure looks like they were talking about the same thing. Here is an excerpt from "Let Go and Let God", by Albert E. Cliffe, copyright 1951: Excerpted from the Chapter "There Is Magic In Believing" -
Sower Magazine of CES (STFI) has been free of charge. However I just received notice they are now asking the spiritual tightwad hitchhikers to get up off our butts and start contributing. Here's their wording: The two main ways people support this work is through the Partnership Program or by making occasional contributions. The party's over. I thought it might come to this.

There were times he was a loving, gentle, caring man. Other times he was harsh, cold and ruthless. His fruit varied. Which is why it'd be foolish to determine what the truth is, based upon his actions one way or the other. I agree WD.

That's an interesting point. Then is it possible we can be righteous and unrighteous at the same time? I think so. But I think we are talking about two kinds of righteousness. What we are in Christ Jesus, the new man, God imputing unto us, making us righteous, no matter what we do in the flesh, is one kind of righteousness. It is the new man, the new creation, righteous, because of what Christ did for us. It is our legal position in Christ. But then we are unrighteous when we sin. Our flesh, which is carnal, is unrighteous or at least prone to it, because we are carnal. God promises to cleanse us when we confess our sin.

From what I've seen, I think the evidence shows that our continued alliance with this country has cost us way way more in lives and money than any return we may have received from it. You are free to explain what we have gained in return for the $100 billions past donations, and perpetual donations, and continued lives lost, to protect this ally. ...

I wholeheartedly disagree. Many folks continue to benefit from the truth taught; ... folks right in twi, folks from the offshoots, folks who no longer fellowship with any group, and future folks who hear the truth thru the past efforts of Dr. Wierwille and others who held forth and continue to hold forth the truth. I do not look upon my past donations to twi as extorted money. I gave that money with the sincere desire and belief of seeing the Word of God move, and it did when I gave it, and is still continuing to do so even now thru the aforementioned. Of course this doesn't mean the Word isn't moving outside of the influences of all that was/is twi, but also doesn't mean that money once donated to twi went for "zippo".
