Oh, Spirit was a HUGE favorite of mine long before I heard of The Way. Especially the first 3 albums. Whenever I listen to one of their tunes I can usually remember what song came after it on that particular album. Of course, after I took PLAF (The Wonder Class) I was told I could no longer listen to them if I didn't want to be spiritually corrupted. (Ditto on the first 3 King Crimson albums.) Wierwille "borrowed" whatever and whenever it hit his fancy. Sometimes it was a phrase. Sometimes it was a sentence. Sometimes it was whole paragraphs and chapters of books. I don't think he really ever gave much thought to being found out. We were conned by a shyster. That's the bottom line.

The records in Genesis can't possibly be 100% literal. So, the real dilemma, as I see it, is in deciding exactly where to draw the line between literalism and allegory.
