  3. I think what you're describing would probably be thought of as a sentry.
  4. Maybe they just threw darts at a map. It wouldn't be the first time,
  5. Tell them you're a "seed boy". I would love to see their reaction.
  6. "Any volunteer may be dismissed at any time and/or program cancelled at sole discretion of those charged with oversight." Funny you should mention that. Both those things actually DID occur over the course of time I spent in FellowLaborers. Perhaps these new recruits would like to know what it will feel like to be kicked to the curb, without explanation, at 3AM. Or maybe they prefer to experience it for themselves.
  7. I guess they didn't need to send any WD to Smith County, Miss. because there's already a Wierwille there, standing in the gap and fighting off those pesky devil spirits for you and me.
  8. Smith County, Mississippi http://sowersonline.com/about.aspx
  9. We were told, in FellowLaborers, that we were patterning our lives after life in "the first century church". But, there really wasn't any unified version of "The Church" in the first century. Sooooooo------how does that work? All we were doing was experimenting with communal living. I did learn how to sprout Mung Beans, though. Did they sprout Mung Beans in the first century?
  10. Ya know, the irony here is that "the first century church" that we were taught about in The Way, really didn't even exist in the first century, much less today.

  12. No, it's not the same. One is much worse than the other.
  13. Austin, Texas----The Live Music Capital of The World Maybe they're hoping to resurrect Joyful Noise.
  14. I don't mean to sound as though I have no compassion for these kids because I do-------as individuals. But, from the perspective of the organization, do we really hope they achieve any level of success?
  15. "Whoowee!" said my grandson Cletus (that's his name.), "One peek at Ol' Sparky (the electric chair) is pert near 'nuff to scare the Devil out of even the meanest old cooter." My other grandson, Cleophus, (who is ordinarily the ornery one.) just shook his head in agreement.
  16. I know there were long term Way followers in N.E. Ohio and Central Ohio as early as the 1950s. Florida, I don't know about. Sorry.
  17. It was like an 8th grade science experiment gone horribly wrong.
