I could be wrong but I think it was colon cancer that did him in.

To tell you the truth, Fellow Laborers pretty well squelched any aspiration I had for a leadership position. Like many others, I was just relieved when the whole fiasco was finally over.

So much for the green and red symbols, I think we need another one that's blue. That one could mean, "Man, this cat really bums me out!" (ie: makes me "blue")

Jesus came into this world so we could have lots of stuff. I know because that's what V.P (You know he wasn't really a doctor, don't you?) Wierwille said in Power For Abundant Living. Yeah, it was all about us getting lots of stuff. And I guess Jesus musta had lots of stuff, too, because Wierwille said so on page 4 of PFAL. "This book, Power For Abundant Living, is one way of showing interested people the abundant life which Jesus Christ lived." But then, later on, we were told it wasn't really about stuff, it's spiritual. Except, if you were the big dawg, like V.P. (You know he wasn't really a doctor, don't you?) Wierwille, it really WAS about stuff. Stuff like fancy shmantzy motor scooters and kick azz old cars. Not to mention, a private jet, 2 motor-coaches, a domestic staff, a bevy of concubines, primo property for hunting and fishing, lots of expensive hunting and fishing gear and dogs and enough booze to float the Spanish Armada. But, as far as I know, he only got one glass eye to take the place of the real one the devil spirits stole from him. So, maybe he didn't have such an abundant life after all.

Come to think of it, I don't remember green beans either. Of course, there's nothing especially memorable about green beans anyhow. Your hubby would be the best source of information on the matter that I know of.

I think it's a way of measuring if your posts are too long or too short. + = too long - = too short And baby bear said, "This post is just right."

Harry (He wasn't MY uncle!) Wierwille died of cancer. How many people knew this at the time? Why did V.P. (You know he wasn't a REAL "Dr.", don't you?) Wierwille continue to teach that cancer is caused by devil spirits? Then, he, himself, died of cancer, as did his son, Don. Maybe the students at Advanced Class 2010 can discuss this in their focus groups and come up with some answers.

Oh, I dream. I just can't remember what I was dreaming once I wake up.

Not being female, I can't really give first hand testimony. From what I understand, though, Uncle Harry (He wasn't MY uncle!) was quite fond of sticking his tongue down throats and copping a feel whenever the occasion presented itself.

Yeah. I shed a tear 'cause I couldn't be there for all the fun.

Power For Abundant Living Introduction The Abundant Life Jesus' proclamation as recorded in John 10;10 is the foundational Scripture for this book. ...I am come that they [believers] might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. This verse literally changed my life. My wife and I began in the Christian ministry, plodding ahead with the things of God; but somehow we lacked an abundant life. Then one time I was especially alerted when I read from the Word of God that Jesus said He had come to give us a more abundant life. I was startled into awareness. As I looked about me at communities where I had served and among ministers with whom I had worked, the abundant life was frequently not evident. In contrast to these Christian people, I could see that the secular world of non-Christians were manifesting a more abundant life than were members of the church------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- This begs the question: If the abundant life, which, by the way, is NOT the focal point of this section of scripture, is so darn spiritual, what exactly was it that Wierwille saw "the secular world of non-Christians manifesting"???

I cut the soles out of my shoes, sat in a tree and learned to play the flute. -
Wierwille only used the "temporary" thing to explain O.T. events. His take on possession, in modern times, was that, once they're in there, there are only two things that can remove them, casting out in the name of Jesus Christ and/or an abundance of "The Word" in the person's constant thoughts (ie: renewed mind). I guess those old spirits weren't quite as tough in O.T. times. <_<

Oh, for the good old days!

Now, George. You know perfectly well that this is the reason PFAL was given to Wierwille, via theopneustos. -
That's tough one. I played George in a studio excercise many years ago. The guy who played Lennie went on to become a fairly well known actor (amongst his peers) and still successfully practices his craft. Looking back, I think we probably spent as much, if not more, time studying the characters and trying to understand them as we did running lines. That's a good example, soul searcher, of how not everything in life is always as "black and white" as it seems. For those who are unfamiliar with the plot, you can find it HERE.

I have no way of knowing what he really thought or believed. All I can do is make a comparison to how this fits with what he taught. In that regard, it fits perfectly because he taught that spirit (the Godly variety) was placed "on" select individuals in the O.T. as a temporary measure rather than "in" them as a permanent arrangement (Christ "in" you/seed/ new birth/gift of holy spirit of the N.T.) So, by Wierwille's reasoning, it was simply a matter of one or the other inhabiting David at any given point in time. I still don't buy it but I hope that explains what we were taught.
