  1. I'm inclined to go with the "flawed product" explanation. I mean you have all this detailed stuff on discerning of spirits in the Advanced Class and yet nobody seemed to notice that Wierwille was a walking/talking, text book example of the very things he taught were devil possession. (ie: chronic alcoholism, sexual predator, psychological abuser, chronic liar, etc.) Doesn't look too good for proving DOS is a valid concept.
  2. VP didn't simply have A motorcycle. He had several. Some were mucho expensive. Paid for with ill gotten funds from his MLM scheme called "The Way". So what I'm wondering is----Do they still have them secretly stashed away like the used to?--- Did they sell them?----If they sold them, what became of the profits?
  3. I threw a few bucks in on one that looked like this. (Or at least it was supposed to once it was restored.)
  4. What ever happened to The Twig Hopper? (Or any of the other motorcycles and classic cars)
  5. And to add insult to injury, the premise of the whole class was based on a misrepresentation of the meaning of John 10:10.

    Job Opening

Wow! Resumes for that position should be arriving at the speed of light!
  7. Cuba Gooding----------Sr. Everybody Plays The Fool
  8. "He's been up for a week but he's coming down fast!"
  9. Didn't we learn that technique in "Twig Leader Training" or one of those other so-called classes? 1. Tell them what you're going to tell them. 2. Tell them. 3. Tell them what you told them. (Should I repeat that?) :P
  10. Can you imagine your reaction at your first twig meeting if you had been told this would be expected of you?
  11. It was all a dog and pony show-------and we weren't the exhibitors.
  12. Hey! If you have any of those DVD's, I'd be glad to burn them for you.
  13. You guys are off the mark. Ya see-----It's spiritual. Natural man, as well as Mr. Natural, is completely devoid of the ability to recognize the "enormity" of the implied idiomatic analogy of the original transfiguration of the genuine figure of speech, baggie-syndoton. What we need to do is plant a garden, live as one in a giant pup tent and meditate without ceasing on the meaning of wheat-berry pop tarts.
  14. I find I must disagree with this statement.
  15. Well I guess the seller never read the material dealing with "private interpretation". (Seems like he was privately interpreting VPW's topic headings.)
  16. I think it helped me more to first see VP's phony lifestyle exposed. Once I accepted that for what it was, his credibility was worthless to me. With his credibility in tatters, it was easy to start examining the various doctrinal matters in a more open manner.
  17. We didn't have T.V.'s in Fellow Laborers. On Monday mornings, I would go to my secular job and all the people would be buzzing about a new show called Saturday Night Live. Do you know how embarrassing it was to try to explain why we didn't have T.V's.? The abundant life my arse!
  18. They might not add them now, but I'm certain they did in the 70's. I think this is one of those book "fudging" techniques that limb leaders did to impress HQ. Also, I believe the limb leaders then passed these assignments onto branch leaders as a way of having the branch leaders prove themselves worthy of acceptance into the WC.(Limb leader endorsement was a requirement of WC acceptance, if I remember correctly.)
  19. When I took the AC, a current subscription to Way Mag was one of the requirements. It all seems so transparent in retrospect.
  20. That's an old trick. They used to do that back in the 70's. They used to give us lists of inactive grads and tell us to get as many as we could to sit through the current class so the facility would look filled and impress the new students.
  21. Thanks for that additional information, Twinky. All you have to do is substitute a few key terms, and the parallels become obvious.
  22. This stuff is like an invasive weed. Simply leaving the group, physically, does little to deal with the tangle mess of deep rooted beliefs
  23. "Cults attract intelligent, idealistic, ambitious people who are led to believe they are working for a greater good." --------Jim Bergin Here's an interesting clip. It's a bit lengthy but worth watching (IMO) CULT RECOVERY 101
  24. That's great news! Congratulations! (Where's my cigar?)
  25. Currently, there is another thread that concerns itself with Twi's current numbers. In my opinion, this is simply another part of The Way that continues to exist even though it's peripheral in nature and its numbers aren't counted in the tally.
