So here's the thing. The dude solicits funds (ABS) under false pretenses (W.O.W.) and uses the dough to score some hot motor-scooters and some slammin' classic cars. That's bad enough. But,then, he turns around and says,"Here, sonny boy, take the keys to the ragtop and spin around town. Chicks dig that kinda stuff, even the married ones" So, now you've got a MOG privilege, "once removed".

I don't really care who wins or loses as long as TWI loses a boat-load of money in legal fees in the process.

The way this one is spreading, it's likely to show up at your house all by itself! LOL

I think this particular comparison is a bit oblique. We (musicians) don't play Beethoven, Mozart and Bach because we want to come to a greater "understanding" of them or because we think we may have "misinterpreted" a specific passage. We play their works, ultimately, because they have the ability to evoke an emotional response that touches the human psyche in a way that is both universal and timeless. Of course, students of said composers do play their works with a view toward broader understanding but that is only a means to the stated end. And, unlike the bible business, these works are open to a certain degree of "private interpretation". There is no "one and only" true way to interpret their many nuances. So, we don't play them to discover what they sound like. We play them because we already know what they sound like and we want to be a part of the effect it evokes. You could probably apply the same logic to a local bar band playing well worn "covers".

When I moved into my current house in 1993, my neighbor gave me a little climbing vine called Sweet Autumn Clematis. (It blooms in late August through September hence the "Autumn" part of the name.) I planted it next to a trellis on the west side of my carport/garage. It grows about 3 inches a day, so every summer it fills the trellis and every fall I cut it down to the ground. It has zillions of tiny white blooms and smells fantastic in the evening breeze. When the blooms are spent, they leave behind millions of tiny seeds in a filigree/lace-like mass. Here is a photo of one like it. (This is not at my house.) It's always been one of my favorite plants---------until this summer. This summer, it showed up everywhere in my yard, overran my forsythias and climbed to the top of my neighbor's 25 foot tall tree. It looks like a massive snow cap hanging there. I hate like heck to get rid of it 'cause it is such a cool plant. I guess everything is a trade off when it comes to gardening.

I rode in said car one time. My wife (at the time) rode in it several times. Aside from it being in pristine condition, the thing I remember most is that he told me the car did not actually belong to him. I don't remember if he said it belonged to Gramps, or big brother. My wife (at the time) and I had a big falling out over what I thought was the equivalent of impropriety in having such a vehicle at his fingertips while the rest of us drove clunkers. That was when all the "needs basis" propaganda was starting to fill the air. I also questioned, much to her chagrin, his fondness for W!ld T^rkey while the rest of us were couch diving for quarters to scrounge up a 40(oz.) ----Did I mention we got divorced not long after that?

MOG Privileges Back in the day, when eyebrows were raised about VPW's material excesses (ie: hot motorcycles, classic cars, jets, vacation property, expensive hunting and fishing gear, etc.), people were prone to rationalize it by saying VP was under great pressure because of the "greatness of his mission" and he needed these things to relax so he could continue to stay receptive to "revelation". There's even a section in one of the classes that talks about how important it is for a MOG to find ways to relax. So, how far do such privileges extend? Do they extend to the MOG's family members? How about his cronies? How would their use of these things heighten any supposed ability of the MOG to "move The Word" ? Let me take a wild guess. It must have "relaxed" him to know he could use ABS to provide his kids and buddies with hot cars, and such, to use.------------- Sounds like plain old fashioned exploitation and opportunism to me. I'm just sayin'
