Yeah, I almost forgot about some of the FLO who were "ordered" to get out of the entire state within 24 hours. (Draggin' down the greatness of the work going on at Mt. Knockwurst, dontcha know.)

Taz, Taz, Taz I'm afraid we may have to take away your gold star from the AC. Actually, you are correct, though. (At least within the context of TWI definitions.) pg. 26 The "Manifestation of Believing" is your operation of the God-given ability whereby you may "believe" to bring to pass the impossible at your command according to what God has revealed to you by Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom and Discerning of Spirits. It also inspires "believing" in others. (quotation marks added for emphasis) Pg 10 Keys To Walking By The Spirit 9. It may be essential to put "unbelievers" out of the room. Hand written notation (Their "unbelieving" interferes with your ability to operate the "manifestation of believing".)

When you say "came to pass" you are limiting the scope of revelation to predicting the future. (prophesy). But, I digress. So, I would say "yes". VPW predicted that Craig would lead "the ministry" in a new direction. And so he did. HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!!

Had he seen the advent of the internet, he might have become a spokesperson for THIS product. -
Don't know anything about it but here is the address: http://www.fivedoves.com/

Maybe it's TWI that needs to "grow" something-----like corn or soybeans or hogs. At least then the land would serve a useful purpose.
-
Maybe this ties into the Further "training"---- thread as well. When graduates get dangerously close to realizing it was all an illusion, it's time to bring them back in and crank up the dosage of hype.
-
Of course. But, they're missing the key ingredient-----charisma. Have you ever done this?-----An old song comes on the radio and you find yourself reminiscing with your kid (or grandkid) about how great the music was "way back when"? They look at you with a blank stare. Why? Because it's not really the music that was captured in your fond memories, it's all the circumstances surrounding the situation in which you heard it. I think it's the same for some of these guys. They yammer on and on about the greatness of "the law of believing", not realizing it's really all the hype surrounding "the class" that has taken up permanent residence in their minds. If you click on the website in the initial post and listen to the teaching on "the law of believing", it becomes quite apparent.
-
It wasn't "the greatness of The Word" that excited us, folks. It was the the hyped up, phony enthusiasm that VP pumped into the delivery.
-
I listened to a couple minutes of the law of believing teaching. It's no wonder VP kept such tight reins on the "original" PFAL. Without all the hype and hooplah, it's as transparent as a picture window.

Yeah, I think a lot of us identified with the "supporting" cast more than the leads.

Kinda reminds me a fifth fourth grade playground bully. "Whadda ya, chicken?"

He was much too short sighted to really care. As long as it was profitable long enough to assure him a chosen lifestyle, I don't think it concerned him to project beyond his own tenure. (I don't think the guy would have known "revelation" if it had smacked him upside the head.) -
Yes, I was being facetious.
-
Sooooo------They had to be "retrained". That, in itself, doesn't seem to speak too favorably about the initial training. After graduating from Fellow Laborers, I went back in, of my own choosing, in a slightly different capacity. I can tell you from experience that this concept of "re-indoctrination" makes a good deal of sense to me personally.

Nobody knows this one???? It's Hoochie Coochie Man. Here's Jeff Healey cranking it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-IJsb_mTRo And Eric Clapton: Sugar Blue: Allman Brothers: The Stones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SizqLgRG4cE And here's the "original": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ez5izCf2DLI I suppose that means that someone should get a free turn, no? -
Hiya, Twinky You really have to look at the original clips in my first post before looking at the parody in the second post to understand the humor. Beaver and Wally and their whole bunch lived a life that was so incredibly foreign to the blue collar life that I, and probably lots of others, came from, it's laughable. The typical 50's American "Dad" was more likely to teach you a life lesson with the leather strap than a philosophical father/son talk.
-
Well, they might have a point------if they were, in fact, only rumors. But, what they are really saying is "I have KNOWN about it since the 1970's and I choose to ignore it."
