  2. As far as I know, every major religion has some version of "The Golden Rule". I suppose that means it might be important.
  3. When I come home, baby, My house is dark and my pots are cold, You hang around, baby With Jean and Joan and a who knows who.
  4. The attrition rate is extremely high in any MLM, be it Amway, Shaklee or TWI. Wierwille knew that. That's why he pushed so hard for fresh recruits. I think he looked at what Donnie F. did with witnessing and undershepharding and thought he had struck gold. He wasn't interested in building long term relationships, despite the appearance to the contrary one might get from looking at the Corps program. He was interested in creating a dedicated sales force that could replace converts faster than they dropped off. For quite some time, his plan was vastly successful. After he died, the whole thing started to unravel because there were very few who actually understood that the whole thing was really a big scam. Had the upper leaders put their heads together, they might have come to grips with the reality of what they were involved in and created a successful business plan. Instead, they all tried to put a spiritual, Godly spin on an organization that was really nothing more than a well-oiled money machine. edit I don't think he was too overly concerned about the longevity of his scheme. As long as it lasted long enough to buy him a cushy lifestyle, that was long enough for him.
  5. Maybe it's "late blight". HERE Authorities recommend that home gardeners inspect their tomato plants for late blight signs, which include white, powdery spores; large olive green or brown spots on leaves; and brown or open lesions on the stems. Gardeners who find an affected plant should pull it, seal it in a plastic bag and throw it away, not compost it. Unaffected plants in home gardens and commercial fields should be sprayed with fungicide to prevent the spread of the disease.
  6. Keith I think a lot of personal perception stems from where you were and what you were willing to lay at their altar. My first 3 years or so were not so bad because I was still involved at the local level. I was totally sold out and devoted all my time and energy to running classes, twigs, witnessing, cleaning lipstick stains off styro cups---You get the picture. Still, I alone decided what I would eat, when I would go to bed and get up, what kind of lamps to put in my living room, etc. But, once I committed myself to one of their in-residence "leadership training" programs (cough), it started to become clear that Toto and I weren't in Kansas anymore and clicking my heels together couldn't send me back. It's like yelling in to someone trapped in a burning house, "Hey, be careful, it's hot in there!"
  7. "Aren't her breasts just gorgeous?" (VPW--------CF&S class)
  8. I'm getting tired of waiting and fooling around I'll find somebody who wont make me feel like a clown This cant go on...
  9. Exactly! It's a "not so subtle" form of manipulation. (a vital ingredient in the behavior modification recipe) His classes are overflowing with it. Consider, for the moment, the CF&S class. In one of the sessions, he shows photographs of different shaped penises and even gives names to some of the shapes. Why, in God's name, did anyone need to see or hear that information at all, let alone in a class that was supposed to be Biblical Research? He wasn't warning us there, he was challenging us to accept his twisted mindset. If we accepted that he knew better than we did why it was important information, even if we didn't understand "why", we were one step further into the behavior modification quicksand. "If a man wants to be stoooopid, let him be stoooopid!"
  10. You forgot #3 3. Get ready for your taste buds to do "the happy dance".
  11. I not so sure this was intended to be interpreted as a warning. I think it might have been more of a back-handed challenge to naysayers. It was a psycho trick he used to belittle people who disagreed with him. The PLAF (Miracle Class) is filled with examples of this very thing. "Why, a man would have to be an IDIOT to miss it!"

    LEAD

So---- The L.E.A.D. accident happened in 1982 but it took them until 1994 to end the hitchhiking. Inexcusably callous and negligent. And for anyone still following these morons, I think current "leadership" owes you an explanation of where they stood on the issue those 12 long years.
  13. You've got me running and hiding All over town. You've got me sneaking and peeping And running you down This can't go on...

    LEAD

Hi, Holly Here's a link to a rather lengthy thread (39 pages) that deals with some of the darker aspects of L.E.A.D. Unfortunately, many of the dangerous aspects of L.E.A.D. were not abandoned when they came to light, as you will discover in reading the thread. And there is this one, as well:
  15. Wierwille was obviating any future objections.
  16. But if you've been carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, You ain't gonna make it with anyone anyhow. REVOLUTION---------The Beatles

  18. Do you ever think about a line from a class and find yourself chuckling about it? Here's a classic from the advanced class: KEYS TO WALKING IN THE SPIRIT 1. To receive revelation, you must first become meek. (Guess that kinda sums it up for Old Doc. )
  19. Yes, looking back, I can vividly remember a specific time when "the big dog" himself "warned" me. I was a brand spanking new convert to The Way and let my twig leader talk me out listening to it. "It's just some unrenewed mind, don'tcha know?" "The adversary is playing games with your head." (It's complicated.)
  20. No surprise there, coming from a guy who thinks women should not hold leadership positions.
