  1. Put all the legal mumbo jumbo on the back burner for a moment. He took someone elses work and pretended it was his own( Knowing full well it was not). He claimed God gave it to him in a bundle of revelation the likes of which the world hadn't seen for 2,000 years. He knowingly deceived a lot of unsuspecting people including myself. Personally, I don't really give a rats' posterior whether it was legal or not. The man knowingly lied, plain and simple, and that is not an acceptable practice for someone who supposedly is Gods' representative to the world for modern times. If that makes him "one of the finest men you have ever known" you have my sympathy. Did he tell us "not to read other books"? As a matter of fact, that very challenge was presented in the PFAL class by VPW himself. Why people feel compelled to look for loopholes that will excuse his unGodly and conscious "nose thumbing" of those areas of Gods' word in which he professed himself to be expert is beyond me.
  2. Kinda funny, don'tcha think, how bands used to borrow names from classic sources? Uriah Heep----Borrowed from Charles Dickens Steppenwolf----Borrowed from Hermann Hesse Pearls Before Swine-----Borrowed from the" sermon on the mount" 1910 FruitGum Company----Borrowed from-----ummmmm? Never Mind!
  3. Ya see, here's the thing, Trumpeter. When I was just a tyke of about 5 or 6, I desperately wanted a pony, not just any pony but a palamino pony. I guess it never occurred to me that kids in the inner city don't make good pony owners. One day I was outside playing "broomstick cowboy" with the little girl who lived a few doors down. As we looked toward the end of our block, out of nowhere we saw the most beautiful palamino pony gallop around the corner with his golden tale waving in the wind. We ran to the end of the block just in time to see him round the next corner. Again we chased him and had the same result. Our pursuit ended when we wound up where we started. Of course, there never was any pony but we wanted more than anything for our experience to be real. I hope you catch that golden pony someday.
  4. "When I read Dr. Wierwille it's as if the Heavenly Father himself is speaking to me personally". Hmmmm?----Do you feel this same sensation when reading Stiles, Bullinger, Kenyon, or Leonard? Just curious.

----------- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!, Socks.--------- Mark K. --Oh yeah! Good solid stuff. One of the few who doesn't seem to have caught the dreaded "Hey!, Look at ME!" syndrome. That PBS show sounds like a real keeper. I'm pretty sure they will show excerpts from time to time. I'll be on the lookout. Oh, that picture is me playing my '62 Hofner fretless. (That's how old I'll be before I could afford to make that happen.) Polar Bear----Downchild Blues Band is only a "local" band because, well, everybody has to live somewhere. They have been turning up on XM quite a bit lately. What a killer harp player Donnie is! There is another guy(Steve Brazier) who calls himself Mr. Downchild as well. He plays a National Resonator bottleneck style and blows incredible harp ala the rack. He also uses a wooden stompbox that he claims to have made from a board he found at the gravesite of Sonny Boy II. Whether or not he did is not important. What matters is he knows how to make it work. He is a masterful storyteller. Don't miss him if he makes it up north. Happy New Year!( May it be filled with sounds that please)
  6. Remember the old Bill Cosby routine where God speaks to Noah and tells him to build an ark? A booming voice comes from the sky and says: "NOAH, Build me an ark!" Noah pauses momentarily and responds: "Riiiiiiiiight!----Who is this REALLY?" I love that line Riiiiiiiiiight!------Who is this REALLY?
  7. "That's a lovely dress., Mrs. Cleaver". Then as Eddie Haskel would walk away, he would make some snide comment to Wally about how awful he really thought the dress looked. It became a generalized way of describing someone to say "He's a real life Eddie Haskel". Leave it to Beaver Someone take my turn, please.
  8. THWEEEEEEEP!! That was one one those paper noise makers that unfurls when you blow in it. (I'm not so good at the late nights anymore either) HAPPY NEW YEAR!
  9. Yes, indeed. Walk Away----James Gang They had that "funk" sound down long before it had a name. Another great James Gang tune to check out some time is "Midnight Man". Aaaaaannnd!--------Yer next!
  10. Nope. This band pre-dates The Eagles and had some MONSTER players take a turn in the guitar chair. Walsh was actually the second guitarist for this power trio.(chronologically) The original guitarist was Glenn Schwartz who left to work with a famous west coast power outfit and still works today though he doesn't venture far from home. The aforementioned band with Walsh recently gave a reunion show in their hometown.
  11. Very close CaDreaming Meet you half way got nothin' to say Still I don't s'ppose I can blame ya Seems to me You don't want to talk about it Seems to me You just turn your pretty head and "---- ----" And yep. That's Joe W.,but what was the name of the band?
  12. Ummmm------------"On the Road Again"? To All The Girls I've Loved Before------Willie Nelson Takin' my time Choosin' my lines Try'n to decide what to do
  13. Mine also says there are no others with my last name. I have never known anyone outside of my family who has the same last name. Still, that's not the same as no one. I did a Google search and found quite a few with the same name and even one who ,although not" famous" himself, is well known for some" famous" artwork he did. Now if I could only find one who won the "super duper, powerball, Step aside, I'm filthy rich" lottery, I might be more inclined to do this:
  14. Remember the old T.V. show called "I've Got a Secret" with host Gary Moore? OOPS!---------Thought this was the "Nostalgia Thread". ----------- -------------------
  15. William-----Many thanks for your open and informative response. It's good to have you here and although I'm not in charge of refreshments, it wouldn't suprise me if some one offered you a complementary cup of joe.
  16. "You were brainwashed to hate VPW." ----------CK---------------- Actually,CK, nothing could be further from the truth of what happened. Many of us spent years of our lives convinced that he was some great man. And hating him was not even on the menu. We held him in the highest regard because we didn't yet know what had really taken place in TWI. Please don't take this as a criticism, but I don't think you really understand what mind control is or how brainwashing works. It might behoove you to do a little research on these subjects. You might also investigate " post traumatic stress disorder" while you are at it. BTW---The invitation still stands to tell us all a bit about your past involvement with TWI. ( That is, if you ever WERE actually involved.)
  17. "There is no truth here at GS, just confusion" "Since there is no hope of anything here, all you do is come back to confusion." -----------CK------------ Refresh my memory, why exactly is it that YOU come back? Once again you have completely danced around my rather innocuous invitation. I don't think you ever were actually personally involved in The Way. Of course, you could still prove me wrong about that. The ball is in your court, though I don't really think you are going to swing at it. Rafs' idea is sounding better than ever.
  18. Hey! You guys can't flim-flam me! Everybody knows a REAL prophesy starts out with something like" For yea, mawh peeeeple." and ends with a "Thus saith the God of Abraham, Martin and John." Geeze!---I might have been born yesterday but I stayed up all last night studying. ps----This post came to me in a vision(It was a Tell-a-Vision)
  19. William--------I already said "howdy" on another thread but something in your post caught my eye. It was the part about initially being lured in by the expectation of a relationship with a member of the opposite sex. Actually, to be politically correct, I suppose I could say the expectation of an interpersonal relationship with one specific person. Something quite similar happened to me and I have posted specifics on it. It makes one wonder how wide spread this tactic was utilized. In a way it reminds me of the sirens in mythology who lured ships in by their compelling songs . Of course, once the ship personnel realized how close to the rocks they had drifted, it was much too late for evasive action. I certainly don't want to pry or tread on ground where I don't belong but I wonder if you see any similarities between your combat ptsd and some of the post TWI anxieties some "believers" experience. I know your ptsd is rooted in a much more intense origin but perhaps you could offer valuable insight in how to cope with some of the long lasting effects of a traumatic experience. If not, I understand. I'm glad you're here. Be sure to sample some of the fun stuff too like "Name That Movie" and "Just Plain Silly".
  20. Hey there, William.Welcome to GSC. I hope the menu lives up to your expectations.
  21. I have invited him/her(CK) on several posts to provide some information demonstrating his or her background and experience with The Way and "Dr." Wierwille. I have stated this can be which classes he/she has taken, which TWI books he/she has studied , what programs he/she has participated in or anything that would give some credibility to his/her statements. It does not have to be of a nature that would reveal his/her identity. So far, I have seen no effort on CKs' part to validate that he or she was ever personally involved with TWI. And so once again ,I extend the invitation to him/her. What say you,CK,care to elaborate?
  22. You can find a wealth of information at "uspto.gov". That's the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Be wary of companies that help you get your own patent. Many will simply take your money and get a "Provisional Patent" for you. This is a bit like a "learners' permit". It is good for one year and allows you market your idea and use the term "Patent Applied For". It can not be renewed so if you don't do something with that idea and get a full fledged patent within your year, that idea might wind up being up for grabs to someone more savvy in developing it. You can can get a provisional fairly easily yourself by just using uspto.gov. Of course, a patent attorney is the best route to take but it can be a costly pursuit so it's best to do some research of your own first. Also: USPTO offers big discounts for those who wish to utilize the internet filing process.

"what did ya get fer Christmas?" I got some CD's I"ve been wanting. "Snake Dancincing Through Gods' Barnyard"---------Rock Bottom "Live At The Big Bend Blues Fest"----------------------The Blues Disciples "Wake Up and Worry"-----------------------------------Mitch Kashmar "Electric Mud"--------------------------------------------Muddy Waters I've replaced that "Electric Mud" about 5 times now because every time I lend it out, it seems to disappear. I really don't mind though because it's like the tree falling in the forrest analogy. If it's really good stuff and you don't turn other people on to it, is it really worth listening to? I decided to get myself a little practice amp too. Nothing too exciting. It's a Pignose 30W bass amp. Also gonna get some new strings for my bass and some reed plates for some of my harps. OK. If that didn't put you to sleep, you might want to try some warm milk-----YAWN.
  24. Which came first? This is only a guess but here goes. There are several famous bridges throughout the world that have been nicknamed "The Bridge Of Sighs". Perhaps the most famous is one in Venice,Italy. There is another "Bridge of Sighs" in London that crosses the Thames.(Waterloo Bridge) Because Trower and members of SF were from the same general area, I would be inclined to believe they were both making reference to Waterloo Bridge. Now, as to who of the two used the phrase first, the answer is clear. "Itchycoo Park" predates Trowers' album "Bridge of Sighs" by at least six or seven years.
