  1. Yeah.....I'm not an idiom of permission fan at all. Some beliefs hold that the God of the old testament and the new are 2 very different gods. Bleehhh....whatever. The belief in the old was one of fear mostly it seems. In the ,'end' you know things are different and many have seen it before their short time in this body was done.
  2. I've followed the Sunday school type teachings for a while now. About genesis and it's stories, and agreed mostly till about 20 years ago when things started making more sense to me. No problems with any who still subscribe to that schooling.
  3. or that God did something ungodly? “Grace is wildly irreligious stuff. It’s more than enough to get God kicked out of the God union that the theologians have formed to keep him on his divine toes so he won’t let the riffraff off scot-free. Sensible people, of course, should only need about thirty seconds of careful thought to realize that getting off scot-free is the only way any of us is going to get off at all." - Fr. Robert Capon
  4. ultimately God is liable for everything that has ever taken place, and can be blamed, all of it good or bad if something I invented did something wrong then I'm liable so what is it really saying when the devil did something?
  5. "everyone has a little spark of the divine, you just have to feed it the right mashed potatoes and gravy" remember that from pfal? vp was saying this was not the right thinking....
  6. Maybe Mike knows something about it, I don't know. Seems like interesting anyways.
  7. Like when he came back from India, why didn't he teach some of the eastern religion stuff. Something must have happened there that turned him against the eastern religions.
  8. I can't help but wonder why vpw would choose to go with some of these doctrines. Like no spirit until born-again and 2nd coming and dead are dead things
  9. In other words the revelation of Jesus Christ is happening was happening and will continue to happen.....all of it past present future
  10. I'm not sure what all that means, but glad you responded. Revelations does not pertain to some human event as if some group thing happens. I think it's internal. Each person individually.
  11. ??? more like why does it seem and taken as like telling the future? when it could be talking about real time experiences, even if one person, John, is doing it
  12. Matthew 3 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight a great verse for what it is about to prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight
  13. it would help if you asked me a damn question, instead of this topsy tipsy turvey helter skelter speaking to some fictional character in your mind
  14. why do you keep bringing up the same accusations against me? heaven and hell are the same thing, same fire
  15. “Belatedly I loved thee, O Beauty so ancient and so new, belatedly I loved thee. For see, thou wast within and I was without, and I sought thee out there. Unlovely, I rushed heedlessly among the lovely things thou hast made. Thou wast with me, but I was not with thee. These things kept me far from thee; even though they were not at all unless they were in thee. Thou didst call and cry aloud, and didst force open my deafness. Thou didst gleam and shine, and didst chase away my blindness. Thou didst breathe fragrant odors and I drew in my breath; and now I pant for thee. I tasted, and now I hunger and thirst. Thou didst touch me, and I burned for thy peace.” ― St. Augustine of Hippo, Confessions
  16. The fruit of the Spirit includes patience, kindness, grace, and self-control (Gal. 5:22–23). A truly repentant person will demonstrate these consistently. 8 Signs of True Repentance (thegospelcoalition.org)
  17. via wikipedia - The Buddha considered shame over doing wrong (Pali: hiri) and fear of the consequences of wrongdoing (Pali:otappa) as essential safeguards against falling into evil ways and further as extremely useful in the path of purification. also, Buddhahood - Wikipedia I'm not completely sold on the religion itself but it has some very good concepts and learning
  18. well...anyways...rthst...you already have it.... coiled up inside
  19. the false premise is that the god and the devil is something separate from yourself
  20. you wanted a definition, I gave you what I think it is, I really don't care if you see it
  21. well, mike, besides the loaded wording and words... do you think you have truth? if you have the "accurate" Word - do you?
  22. And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him
  23. reminds me of every place Jesus taught on the kingdom of heaven, an easy word search and mostly John 3, the whole chapter and this "Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?" "true repentance" ? who could show it? different for each person I reckon...
  24. o yes let's put it in words so we can analyze it to death
  25. face the devil, don't be afraid.... of yourself
