  1. JT, Everything from Waydale is on the document section of this site.
  2. Well... I guess I will have to go out and get it then. I haven't heard much about the latest DVD. I have the extended of the first one and enjoyed it. My niece hasn't given me her report yet, letting school interfere with the important things. I gotta watch both of them in anticipation for the last one, which is only days away.
  3. Ditto to all that has been said. Front Page is the way to go, if you need a short learning curve. Dreamweaver is very powerful, but you need to set aside some time to get up and running.
  4. And most recent DVD players have the ability to read CD's burned in the "Data" format that contain MP3 files. Depending on how your MP3 files were burned, you can fit about 10 albums on 1 CD. Great if you want background music and don't want to be changing the music every 40 minutes or so.
  5. I use Camino, which is the Mac version of it. I seem to have problems with java on some sites. But overall, it is better than IE. The popup blocker is worth the price of admission. And the tabbed feature lets you have multiple sites open in one window, in fact you can save a series of sites as a bookmark so if you have 5 or 6 sites you always go to then you can open them all at once.
  6. if you look on ebay, you can find norton antivirus for about $15.00. Some local computer repair shops will sell you a copy for about $20.00 These are copies that they use for new computers commonly called, OEM version.
  7. I was in class at St Mary's in Pawtucket. The principal came over the loudspeaker and said that the president had been shot. She then hooked a radio to the intercom so that we could hear the news as it was happening. She got back on the loudspeaker a few minutes later and called me to the office. I was stunned. What did I have to do with the president's shooting? We didn't have too many details, where he was shot, or things like that. Was he in the area? Did someone in my family have something to do with it? So much for a young mind to figure out (paranoia hits so young) I went down to the office expecting police or some authorities (I loved Dragnet) When I entered the principal's office, there standing in the middle of the room was my kid sister. She was crying. I hated when she did that and now it looked like I was being called in to help. The principal looked sternly at me and said, "your mother is in the hospital and your cousin is at your house with your other brother and sister. You need to get home with your sister and try to help out with your family." I wasn't hearing anything that she was saying. My sister was making that noise when they stop crying but are trying to gain composure. When was the bombshell of what my family had to do with the shooting of the president going to come to light? I held my sister by the arm until we got out of sight of the principal and the school. Then I made her walk 10 paces in front of me so that it didn't look like she was with me. (Ah the young mind and definitions of cool) I got home and was riveted to the news. He had died sometime on the walk home. My cousin made dinner and later that night my father came home. "You should have a new baby brother in the next few hours" he said. I breathed a sigh of relief. Yesterday my brother celebrated his 40th birthday.
  8. Do you have my Smoke Signal addy? jpeg (aka jpg) files and gif files are among the most popular on the internet. Their formats allow for a quality pic with some type of compression for size. Tiff files are UNcompressed. Many digital cameras have a setting allowing you to take pics in a "raw" or uncompressed format, giving you the highest possible quality. Most websites recognize jpeg and gif. Tiff can be uploaded but more than likely not readable. (they are usually very large files) Most photo editing programs will open Tiff and convert it for you. Most smoke signal programs won't.
  9. The blue and yellow ones are now added to the menu when you reply to a post
  10. I'm sending Santa the pics... ;)-->
  11. I'd be up for discussion of banding together and renting a server. Each of us could have our own space and move all the domains over to it.
  12. Somone emailed me last night about a similar thing. We would have to limit the size of the pics or they could become a real bandwidth and space hogs. I think Steve put up a method of posting pics in the pics thread. I'll see what I can put together this evening and come up with a more definitive answer.
  13. I saw it today also. I never looked at it as a trilogy. I always felt that the first one stood on it's own and that Reloaded and Revolutions were the first and second half of a follow-up (I am sure I have lost everyone by now) Reloaded was heavy on philosophy. The fight scenes were about twice as long as they should have been. Not a very good follow-up to the original. Revolutions is not a very good part two to Reloaded. It did have better fight/battle scenes, more engaging. It lacked an original plot, I feel. I was enjoying the first hour or so, but the end didn't wrap it up in a meaningful way. I think that they took the GREAT fight scenes from the original movie and left behind the plot.
  14. Actually the file is an mpeg file. Your cousin may have his associations set for RealPlayer to play the mpeg files. He can change it to be played in the windows media player.
  15. Mike, You should educate yourself on Plagiarism before making the claim, I don't think you KNOW what it is. Victor Wierwille did NOT clearly acknowledge the source of his information. Saying something in a tape does not make it right. What makes it right, is accurate footnotes. EVERY place that he references someone's work. Privately the staff at HQ knew it was plagiarism. You seem to be one of the few individuals in the TWI/exTWI community that is unaware of it. And YET, you insist spewing statements like, "your religion of hate" to individuals that are just stating facts that are true. Below is a link to a university website. You can go to Google and get plenty more. I would look in the mirror to find out who really has an "hysterical desperation." From this Plagiarism Article
  16. QQ - The document was originally sent in PDF form. The Way also agreed to send me the letter as a Word file, allowing it to be read more clearly. I copied that into the HTML pages which are currently on the site. It was my intention that their words appear exactly as they sent them. I would certainly want to change anything which was inadvertantly altered by me. PDF version of letter for download [This message was edited by pamsandiego on October 25, 2003 at 15:52.]
  17. I received an e-mail from Harve Platig requesting that we post a response he has made to J. P. Wierwille regarding the care of Mrs. Wierwille. I have verified that the email I received - and the letter addressed to J.P. - are in fact from Harve Platig, Vice President of the Way International. It?s a fairly detailed letter, but one which I think is worth taking the time to read. See the front page for the full story. I want to make it clear that I heartily welcome The Way?s effort to present the facts as they see them on this issue. Obviously, there are those in the ex-Way community who may see things differently. I invite responses to these developments from Way and ex-Way alike. I would like to simply remind everyone that it is my intention to maintain a polite and relevant dialogue. It?s fairly noteworthy that the Way has chosen to respond publicly, here on GreaseSpot, about this very important issue, and I?d like to keep any debates about it civil. I will moderate accordingly. I encourage anyone with questions about appropriate conduct to read (or re-read) the rules of our forum.
  18. herb, forward the email to me and I'll check it out for you.
  19. I saw it Wednesday night. Great performances. In particular, Sean Penn. Clint Eastwood said that his directing style is to let the story unravel. That is probably the best way to describe the story. It is a crime drama that reveals the characters and their interactions. It keeps you riveted right to the end.
  20. this was definitely a two thumbs up. Great story, engages you throughout. Great acting, Michael Caine as a more passive character was convincing (Although his hat seemed out of place) Nice wrap up too. I like end of the movie surprises.
  21. Vickles, You may be getting these "warnings" via a service that is on by default in your system. Go to Start Then Control Panel Then Administrative Services Then Services When you have Services open look for Messenger and double click it. Where it says Startup type, select Manual. Further down click the stop button. This is a back door way of getting message through. It was designed to work with large internal networks, you don't need this on. See what this does to the messages. I would download ALL the windows updates. They fix things in one program that may affect another. You said you use webroot spyware. I am not too familiar with that, but I know that AdAware, as John mentioned, has all the latest patches including the passiton problem and even purity which is another current problem. If you are using the Yahoo Chatrooms, then you are getting popups from Yahoo also. The last thing that I would recommend is the new Google toolbar. It has a feature that prevents pop up ads...it is also free and non-intrusive. Let me know how these work.
  22. I thought the sign meant that you could not have firearms AND alcohol, which made sense you would shoot your dang toe off. I figured each by itself was fine.
