  1. Its one of those things that makes me mad. Second question I did more abstractly so it didn't work. Third question turned out very wrong. E-mails that say you have to send this to others always makes me mad. My wife finally quit sending me things that say If you are truly a christian you will send this e-mail to 10 other people. The only way my wish will come true is a healing from God or the great work of a surgeon.
  2. I loved the article. Even more the link to another article about a lesbian from San Francisco suing because they will not match gays. Lets face the fact that a large percentage of their base customers come from Protestant churches and the like. James Dobsons endorsement will suck in many single Christians. I have been thinking about what church singles group to try and get my 25 yr old son to go to. He is hearing that clock ticking in his ear. It doesn't help when every Saturday he is out at the soccer field coaching little kids. This is a young man who makes a decent living, owns his own house, and women find good looking. If I was 6'7" 210# and as good looking as that boy I would be broke chasing women.
  3. The people that were televised were probably 1out of 10. That is very sad. The geography lesson is scary. If people don't know where Australia, France, North Korea, and Great Britain are then maybe they need to go back to school. The scariest thing is that those people can vote. The next scariest thing is that about 1/3 of that was shot in San Antonio Texas. I saw some of Washington DC and it looked like Venise Beach. All tourist areas. Hay, maybe that means only tourists are stupid.

    Texas

Guy's I have been trying to figure a way to come. Between family needs, a broke leg, and a wife who lates all things even ex TWI.
  5. What's it like to be in a relationship where you are loved? Danger Danger land minds. After 28 years of marriage I will give you my version. Probably 16 years were great, 6 years that were good, and the rest of the time I wanted to kill her or divorce her. A long loving relationship is an illusion. There are always times when you disagree. THERE are times when you hate each other. I can tell you the times I was down on my knee's praying to God asking for permission to divorce my wife. I can also tell you that to see her smile makes my heart leep with joy. Love is an illusion given to use through books and Hollywood. Marriage is an institution that works the best when both parties are willing to give 100%, 100% of the time. If you ever start looking at the percentage you give verse the percentage they give you are in trouble. Thats where a lot of my troubles began. Its not about me its about us. And that's the opinion of a male chauvinist pig, redneck, hick. But we wont talk about the fact that I did the dish's this morning.
  6. I don't know when home bible studies started at TWI. Starting in the 80's it was becoming more and more popular with established church's(...ie Southern Baptist) in the 80's. I have been part of two different churches that tried it and helped one missionary in Mexico who has been using it to great success. My church now has a Sunday morning service and Sunday evening cell groups. It builds and strengthens more than church. It does because it forces us to actually live what we say at home. It also is a lot less intimidating to get someone to your house than a church. My personal thoughts are that old VP may have been ahead of the curve. Doesn't mater to me because you'll never catch me at TWI again.
  7. Its scary to listen to this and think back. I remember talking about it at twig. It was on many minds. I don't remember the offical responce that came back from Ohio. I think it was some thing like the FBI looking at us (TWI). It was scary and in a way a thought about not letting myself be so fully controled as to let that happen. Every time I hear about Jonestown I think about TWI.
  8. I discovered a long time ago that my wife gets real mad when I take someone else out on a date.

    28 years

Yes twenty eight years ago I married a beatiful little woman by the name of Denise Brown. Somehow we have stayed married all those years and have 3 great sons This also means I have been out 28 and one half years. Its great not having someone telling me who I should date.
  10. Yes O yes. You should see my farmers tan. Only problem is that I hate farming. Seen enough of it to know that I don't want it. Have a friend who has like 6000 ak. in OK he use to farm. That's why he drives a truck delivering gas now.
  11. Some things about living here are great. Friday night lights is very real here. Each August I buy season tickets for the home footbal games. Population 20000 and 3000 locals show up for a home game. It sometimes looks crazy 3000 on one side and 400 on the other. The only problem if you need a specialist doctor plan on the 70 miles down to SA. I have 187 channels to chose on cable and 0 without. Radio stations are 30 and 40's on am and two CW on FM. Me I listen to XM. The local stations all use satellite feeds so there are a grand total of 3 air personalities. We do have a total of 57 church's. I have only met to other ex-Way people here. Its a small world.

    Life at College

Tell her to apply and go. It will be an experience that can shape and effect her for the rest of her life. Don't worry about her safety. They don't go where there is any real danger. Living conditions are usually a lot better than what is pictured on TV. My middle son spend the summer between high school and collage teamed with a collage student in Mexico working with a missionary. He lived with a local family. Eat two meals a day there and eat wherever the other meal. Either walked or road the bus every where. Went to other cities for work and fun. It changed his outlook on many things. It does make it scary as he is about to become engaged to a MK. This can show your daughter thing about how its done in other parts of the world and open her eyes. The rest of the world isn't dumb, they just do it another way. Also remember that God will watch over her.
  13. I am sitting here in my recliner watching "Runaway Bride". I love how small towns are pictured. Community baseball game, quartets singing in the town square, local radio station that everyone listens to. My high school summers were spent in Blanco Texas with my sister and her husband on a ranch. Night life was real exciting. You would drive through town and make a u turn and do it again. The theater was open friday and saturday. After 8 pm the only thing open was two gas stations. I live in the big city now 20,250. We have mall, two McDonalds, three Dairy Queens one Domino's, one Pizza Hut, one Mr. Gatti's, three Chinese Restaurants, two Tex Mex restaurants, three Jalisco style Mexican restaurants, 5 taco stands, two steak houses(its Texas), and two old fashion diners open for breakfast and lunch. Hey we have more places to eat than I thought. We do have about 15 motels due to the interstate. We have at least four feed stores. We have only one old style hardware store. The big box stores kill the locals. What am I saying. I have lived in three differant rural small towns and have never seen a Hale Maryland. So you tell me. Has anyone ever seen a small town as pictured in the Movies. Is that what they think of us in New York City. I mean I hav't had to clean cow manure of my shoes in days. Most people around here raise goats. Local warehouse contains approximatly 20% of the raw mohair in the country.
  14. Lets talk unions in the construction trades. The wages that many of the unionized workers get is not a problem. They are skilled labor and work well to getting the job done right. The problem is the work rules and regulations. Having a foreman for every five workers. Buying tools for each job. Restrictions at what they can do. No I can't change that. We need to stop work and wait till the electrician gets here to do 10 minutes of work. Doesn't mater that 8 hours of work time was wasted waiting. The unions are getting better but still cause more cost problems than what they save.
  15. Hey its been four years since I collected a deer.
  16. This morning as I was brushing my teeth, my cell phone went off. O why would my youngest be calling me, he just left for school. Then the dreaded thought, did he have a wreck? I drove down the street to see the truck pointing the wrong direction with the bed half ripped off the truck. The most important thing was that he wasn't hurt. The truck license plate will join 4 others on the wall of the garage. Yes this will be the fifth entry of license plate and set of keys. Each represents a totaled vehicle. Three have been other people fault, one burnt(Fords great cruse control), and now this one is my sons fault. Anyone want to buy a 1993 Chevy pickup. The engine has only 50,000 miles. Great a/c (changed the compressor out last year), new radio (the old one was stolen), brand new windshield wipers(put them on last week).

    The Big event

I try my best to avoid running over them. It tears the meat up to much. A .22 to the head leaves the meat the best for the BBQ. On a more personal note let me say that with 2 pecan trees I still have never gotten a pecan because the little tree rats get there first.
  18. Competition is the name of the game. When the insurance for the union workers cost more per car than the steel I think there may be a problem. On ABC news this morning it was reporting that the average union worker makes over $60K per year. Maybe if they reduce the cost of labor the cost would come down making US made vehicles more price competitive. When business is off as it was this year no one guarantees my income. Buying your own health insurance isn't cheap either.
  19. When I was with a missionary in Mexico they mentioned that JW were getting big because they were very active there. Then I was talking with my sons fiances parents who are going to Uruguay as missionaries when their furlow ends. JW's are working hard there also. To get back on subject you were nice compared to what they get sometimes.

    Somebody knows

Hey YID I didn't know anyone lived close. I live up in Kerrville in the middle of those trees. Yes it is cedar fever. Yes everyone needs to know that you can actually run a fever from it. I do several things to lessen the problem. The first is I take a Claritan every day starting well before the season. Next I take two ester C vitamins every day. Next a GOOD filter for the house a/c system. One thing to note is that the trees usually release the pollen on warm days. A warm day in January its best to stay inside. The trees will turn red with the pollin. THey will then release it all at one time. It almost looks like smoke rising from the tree. This year with all the rain we got its going to be bad. Good luck with avoiding the problem.
  21. This doesn't need to be in the news. Let it die. Somehow I think he is going to make money off this. I don't know if he killed those people but I do know that his name is a good way for me to change the chanel.
  22. I enjoy this site more than I can tell you because it offers me a safe place to spend time on the web. The web becoming a place where I can waste time and have fun. Now my question to all the great people here. I am thinking about a web site similar to this but more mainstream. Would it work? Is it needed? I visit here and also a site on Texas High School football. I like them because they get my mind going to more positive things. My thought is that either I haven't found any sites or there aren't any out there. Maybe I'm just asking where do you spend your time on the web where it doesn't cost money and its not filled with pictures.
  23. Watched this movie again last night. It is great. Got to thinking way back when Rocky the movie came out. The Limb leader had everyone go see the movie. Just wonder what TWI thinks about this and would they have people watch it?
  24. Get this movie and watch it with you kids. You feel like you can win against the entire world. The acting in a couple of places shows the low budget, but it worth watching. Yes in the end even us men are crying.
  25. At 52 years of age this was the first time I have gotten past the first paragraph. Makes you think about our current congress.
