  1. It took me many years to get over the thoughts that there was no life outside of twi. Now I can easily agree with you that there is much life of the Lord Jesus outside of twi, but that was not the case when I was overcome with that cult mentality of "there is nothing worth anything outside of twi and faithfulness and loyalty to twi is the most important thing in regard to loyalty to Jesus Christ." I am so very thankful to be out of twi, and able to find, as you most easily find, that people outside of twi love the Lord Jesus Christ and His Bible and other people (from whom I was cut off for for the 20+ years in twi).
  2. I got this utube link in a prayer list email, and I thought you would like to see that The Way is still found outside of twi, and that twi has not got their thumb over everything that is endeavoring to glorify The Way, the Lord Jesus. Sorry I couldn't figure out how to get the utube to appear here like some more wonderful posters.
  3. Sometimes my brother and I would squabble because we didn't have anything else to do. (I would give anything to have another squabble with him.) From what I have read, there is no squabbling in heaven.
  4. Being able to disagree with people was such a precious thing here at the Greasespot Cafe (and Waydale and Trashnet). So sorry the political forums closed. I thought they were so very heaing.

    bullying

Good to recognize and be aware of. (Knowing the truth of a situation truly is free-ing.) I was a victim of bullying at my last job. Reading this helped me. Thanks for this. :)
  6. Thanks. Many thanks. Comforting words. Thanks so much :)
  7. Thanks so very much. I am still in Nevada. I was so worried. (I was afraid my fine would be more than my social security. Thanks so very much. Thanks so very much. I am still in Nevada. I was so worried. (I was afraid my fine would be more than my social security. Thanks so very much.
  8. I had looked previously on the web to see if Rosh Hashana was on September 11, 3 bc, and could not find that information. During my Rosh Hashana research this year I found a jewish website where I could ask questions, and posed that question, but haven't received an answer. An interesting bit of information is that the Rosh Hashana Jewish tradition includes that Rosh Hashana is the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, which makes the birthday of Jesus Christ on this day more intriguing. This is the website where I was looking: chabad.org
  9. I have been watching Sid Roth, "It's Supernatural," for a few years. (Lightsource gives many of his shows with captions, and utubes has his shows with the automatic captions). I agree with what Cahn is saying. BUT But I hope and pray that the USA comes back to the Lord, as so many many people have been praying. Today is Rosh Hashana, the Head of the Year biblically, and the beginning of the Lord's High Holy Days, and many people are praying and fasting in this regard. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, United Prayer Network, Mahesh Chavda's group. The Pope and Billy Graham have called for prayer and fasting. Reinhardt Bonnke, an evangelist from Africa, has a planned evangelical crusade for USA, and Peter Gammons, a British evangelist, has completed a crusade here. And prophecies abound for the "Third great awakening" in USA. Kenneth Copeland has come out with his belief that America was built by God Almighty to provide not only a safe haven and refuge for His people, but also a home base for sending out His kindness into the world to relieve suffering (orphanages, water, food, schools, job training, housing as well as the gospel). Charisma Magazine's cover story this month was the salvation of America. I believe the USA is a battleground, but that the Holy God, the Holy Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are fighting for the USA with Their heavenly resources. One of Sid Roth's recent interviews was with Dr Francis Myles, an evangelist from Africa, who had a revelation from the Holy Spirit that Obama would be saved and speaking in tongues, even though it meant the loss of most of his supporters. And a few days ago I read that Oprah got radically saved at a TD Jakes event. The Blood of Jesus has flowed thick in USA, and I have great hope and faith for God's glory to be magnified here. The adversary has been able to kill off many wonderful Christian people, but there are also many left who are defending God's Word in this place. If you have seen any of Steve Hill's recent stuff, you know he is even more intense and speaking from an even greater depth of the presence of the Holy Spirit than he was during the Brownsville Revival, which was intense. I had an email from Hobby Hobby that they were opening 25 new stores (I emailed them because I read that the owner was closing alll the stores). I think the pressure is on and getting more severe, but I also believe that God's people, when tested, will squeeze out His kind kind of kindness, which is the victory God is looking for. I hope and prayers for USA to be clothed in glory.
  10. Brother Andrew is still alive and cooking. You can contact him through Open Doors. Forgiveness is at the heart of all Christianity I think. Our relationship with the Lord -- We have been forgiven. And I would hate to be found as that servant in the story of the servant who was forgiven of so much, and then would not forgive someone who owed him a much smaller amount. I was thinking about Cain and Abel, and maybe that was the difference in why Cain's offering was not accepted: Abel's offering included the life/sacrifice of his sheep, which carries repentence, while Cain's offering was just a few more tomatoes. (I will try this out over in the Doctrinal forum)
  11. I recently lost a very precious Christian friend who smoked and thought he was immune to cancer cause he prayed and was tight with the Holy Spirit -- he had been healed of severe hip bone deformity and led a home fellowship (not twi related), and another dear friend and neighbor has just been put into hospice due to her cancer coming back with final vengeance. She's was still smoking until she went into hospice. It's a terrible way to die. And the people who love you are the ones who suffer so by the loss of their precious loved one, not to mention the bills left behind. Smoking is such a terrible waste of life. Just makes me cry.
  12. I have lost my job, and due to becoming deaf, don't know if I will be able to find another. I know we need to have medical insurance, and I don't know what to do: What is the cheapest way for a senior not working to purchase sufficient medical insurance to avoid the penalty tax of Obamacare. Any suggestions? Help?
  13. Thanks. Just wondered if there was a hearty story behind this one. A boyfriend long ago called himself Falcon (of beatnik days of San Francisco's North Beach and New York New York). He thought of himself as the bird, not the car. Nice remembrane from before twi, when hope was burning strong. Thanks, again, for your kindness Ron.
  14. This was at one time for many of us a time when we thought the head of the year day in 3 BC was so important becuase it was the day Jesus Christ was born (amid the trumpet soundings etc.). All that was so many years ago for me. Then there was 9/11/01, such a terrible day. However, I thought it would be nice to pause and wish a blessing upon those who recognize the preciousness of Rosh Hashanah and the beginning of the High Holy Days, Jewish Bible speaking. Rosh Hashana is for them, The anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, a day of judgment and coronation, the sounding of the shofar .
  15. How long ago would that car been on the ground if the tree just grew up around it? (Is it possible that could have happened, or did someone put the car up there as a prank?) There is a picture of a bicycle that a young man left when he went to war. And because he did not come back, his folks left it there, and the tree grew up around it. From what I found out, that picture is not a prank. I was wondering about this picture though.
  16. Another example of forgiveness applied from Open Doors

    Pat Stiles

I received on a prayer list (not twi related)a prayer request for the family of Pat Stiles who passed away. Does anyone know if this is Pat Stiles many of us know and love? Thanks for any help here.
  18. I confidently believe in the tithe, as I have said previously here and in a similar discussion in the Doctrinal section. In my opinion the tithe and special offerings provide for me a way to become part of such wonderful works that to me are providing God's hand of kindness into the world, Today I received this wonderful explanation of the tithe (at least I think it's a wonderful explanation), and I thought someone would enjoy it, and additionally I trusted that this would provide an alternative viewpoint to that of the majority opinion. So very thankful I can still have an opinion. :) This is from a Messianic Rabbi (Jewish Rabbi who believes that Jesus is the true Messiah spoken about in the Old Testament -- at least I think that's a reasonable interpretation). He sends out a daily email with Jewish perspective of Biblical concepts. Anyway, here goes:
  19. Thanks for all the good information. (I even gave a link to this forum to some non-twi people who had questions about ecigs.) I am going to order some for my friend. (from the place in Florida.) Thanks, again.
  20. I receive emails from Open Doors (Remember Brother Andrew who wanted to take Bibles into communist Russia and prayed, "God You have made blind eyes to see. We ask you to make seeing eyes blind..." so they could smuggle them in, and He did so.) Brother Andrew is still cooking with gas, and his bunch, "Open Doors" is still serving persecuted Christians worldwide. And today I received this in the Open Doors devotional regarding forgivenss, which I thought was most compelling, and hope you will consider the urgency of forgiveness to one's own soul. Persecuted Christians (ones who know their lives, their families, their homes, their jobs, their friends, everything actually is on the line when they confess Jesus is Lord. However, they count the cost and count it but a small thing to pay for their relationship with Jesus.) I hope I will always be able to be found in like manner.
  21. Here is the link to the video I found on the article. Yesterday morning I was so awed thinking about what Nik Walenda did in his walk: He shows that God is still alive and still able to bring us to mighty works. Certainly then, I can go to work one more day. I can keep praying a little longer, because God is still on the throne and still able to deliver us when we call on Him. How precious is that.
  22. Nik Wallenda walked across the Grand Canyon. You can read about it here In the story there is also a link to the video you can watch him do it. I was too afraid for him to watch while he did it.
  23. I did all I could do to serve the Lord by serving His people. I did all I knew to do to be a good wife and mother and Christian all together. I did all I could figure out to do. I think I got what I paid for: The relationship with the Lord and with the folks that really were my friends. Fred passed away, and I know for sure he is with the Lord reaping the just rewards of his life, and I hope the same for me and my family and friends and other loved ones.
  24. I been having a precious internet communication with someone who still refers to "beloved xxxx," but he and his (truly) lovely wife also listen to other ministries and of course they read the Bible primarily. I figure heaven, when we all will be perfect, will look a lot different than we imagine it now. (I had a vision of someone being in the presence of the Lord after he died, and I know treated his family terribly.) I am so glad that God has been able to free me from the cult mentality. I really don't worry about or am concerned with what that cult leader is doing now because one way or another he has had his life reconciled by the Lord.
  25. I was so reminded of that "pot luck" thread. Everyone had a nice time it seemed, and certainly everyone ate their fill. corned beef and cabbage, potato soup. Interesting salads and dips (everything predominantly). Lots of veggies and dips and pies and cupcakes and cookies. I took the vacuum cleaner and tried to vacuum the stuff off the carpet. . . and blew the breaker that had the computer of my boss and her boss. But they didn't fire me. I still got a job it seems. And a dear friend sent me this recipe for Irish Soda Bread. I think that's what I'll make for the pot luck next St Patrick's Day. Pray and hope you are enjoying truly good fun, good food, good fellowship.
