    Do you snore

As others have said, it can be a MAJOR contributing factor to heart disease... ESPECIALLY if you are overweight and/or have family history... I've been using cpap for four and a half years. In that time, I've lost 90 pounds. But I also (with very strong family history) had a heart attack 9 days ago. Because I use cpap, lost the weight and work out regularly, my incident was VERY mild. One gets checked for sleep apnea in several ways, to varying degrees. Best is a "sleep study" in a special lab that hooks you up to a bunch of machines and they see what the problem is and try a couple of different things during that night to see how to get you to sleep most restfully.

    Do you snore

I second this insight. They're called Breathe Right strips... and you HAVE TO use the name brand... generics do not do the same thing... they can help some, but if one needs CPAP, the strips will not do enough.
  3. I can't imagine he's got a Phoenix Suns jersey on too... THAT gorilla knows better than to do his thing when the a/c isn't on!!!!
  4. And it's another 100+ scorcher in the Big D today, isn't it? That can't be helping...
  5. Naw... maybe I'll just offer to give you a gentle elbow jab in the ribs to wake you up. >;-) However, I'm sure it will take more than just two games to tell whether adding Blake and ManRam will be enough. The Dbacks are still pretty good and yesterday's game just got out of hand. So, hopefully it will be a good race to the end of the season for those two (Dbacks/Dodgers) and no doubt the better team will win. And if that ends up being the Dodgers, so be it. I have to still like the Dbacks' chances because they do still have good pitching and overall reasonably good hitting.
  6. I remember reading Bouton's book, Ball Four, when I was a senior in HS... I use to call it, "Ball Four, get one free!" gosh... that was only 36 or 37 years ago...
  7. I saw that before... I know CBS says this is a new episode of 60 Minutes, but that story is not new. It IS very interesting.
  8. 4-4-4 add in an infield single... me thinks the Dodgers made the deal of the century! :(
  9. He certainly makes it look easy... but we all know it's certainly NOT easy. Wierd play just now... Casey Blake knocked Chad Tracy's glove off as Tracy went to catch Blake's infield pop up... finally, after the umps conferred, Blake called out.
  10. Do you need any more freon? Blocks of ice for your backyard pool, perhaps?

    The Rules

Probably not... that's something you're good at. I'd hate to see you get in trouble for it. :)
  12. Yep... Manny homered in the first with Juan Pierre on base...

    The Rules

Methinks our stRange friend knew already... :)
  14. Of course he had a reason. But was the reason related to the actions of THIS rider? I doubt it VERY much. I agree... especially about the conclusion.
  15. Want me to FedEx you some FREON?
  16. I'm not so sure the "judge not, lest ye be judged" admonition relates to our duty to serve on juries...
  17. Bottom of the 9th: Russell Martin singles to lead off. Manny grounds into a 6-4-3. 2 outs. Kent out F-4, game over. Win number 293 for the Big Unit.
  18. I have to imagine that wierwille had many more situations present themselves wherein he was given the opportunity to turn from his wickedness...
  19. God doesn't violate free will, right? Like Balaam and his mule, one only accepts correction when one becomes open to it... which poses more serious questions about that man's ministry.
  20. So far ManRam has been no factor in his first game as a Trolley Dodger... unless you count letting a Chris Snyder bloop drop in front of him for a base hit... Snyder later scored the second run for the Dbacks who now lead 2-1. Both starters are out of the game... Chan Ho is on the hook for the loss and the Big Unit is in line, at this point, for the win. But Manny's dreads sure look good in Dodger Blue.
  21. In terms of "strictly speaking," I don't know. In terms of common sense, given that any such "diet plan" is primarily a guideline (or set of them) for developing lifelong healthy eating habits, I'd say (based on discussions with nutritionalists/dieticians) that it would depend on how frequent the occasion. Indeed, there are some benefits to the occasional beer or glass of wine (especially red wine).
  22. I believe a lot of them (angels) work as RN's.
  23. A likely story... reminds me of the time -- on the golf course -- I hit a nice 4wood t-shot that went straight at the pin... but was a bit too strong... I made some sort of "if I had done... it would have..." statement. Was playing a round with a friend and another twosome we didn't know... the one guy barked out, "yeah, but you didn't!" Yeah, but they're NOT!
  24. Speaking of Gagne, I was watching the Cubs/Brewers game yesterday on WGN as I was waiting to be unchained from the ICU and Gagne takes the mound for some mop up time with the Cubs ahead 9-1. On a 3-0 pitch to Edmonds (who had homered twice earlier in the game) the first batter of the inning, Gagne throws behind Edmonds. The ump didn't hesitate even so much as to breathe before giving the ol' heave ho to Master Eric. Pretty quick meltdown for the hairy youngster, I'd say... Hey!!! I heard that!!!! :P
