"Baseball is a game of adjustments." I don't know who said it first, but it's said a lot these days. Replay is just one more thing to adjust to... and WE have to adjust to it at least as much as the players and coaches and umpires. And we will... eventually. But I understand the need to vent about it.

It is national, but not with as much emphasis as it must be in your community. How a mother (or a father) could do anything like this is just beyond my comprehension. Imagine how bad Caylee's grandmother must be feeling now.

And yes, as Rumrunner said, the DD-214 is THE form that has the information you are looking for, but unless you get it from the person him/herself, good luck.

Well, anything I was thinking or potentially implying can be found in the essence of what dooj added. Yet, RG, it's quite obvious that before the most recent history of modern civilization it was difficult to even IMAGINE exploring space. So, to me it's understandable that no one writing down scriptures could have even seriously considered what's in Genesis to have included space exploration. I personally would prefer more of a focus (in the scientific community) on what is now the recognized field of Sustainability, than on space exploration. But it's absolutely inevitable that mankind would be needing to expand the (actual physical) boundaries of what we know. And as soon as people were willing to IMAGINE exploring space, doing so became inevitable. To me, it seems that what C.S. Lewis did was to read scripture and use his imagination. Can you IMAGINE how long Galileo must have took after gazing into the sky with telescopes, fighting with his own mind trying to avoid the realization that the earth is NOT center of the universe? But at some point, he could NOT avoid the realization of what he was observing. Change is difficult. For one person as well as for society. But it's in our genes to explore. Set a new horizon, and someone is going to find it necessary to explore beyond it.

Well, didn't God say something to Adam and Eve about going forth and multiplying? Was that limited to earth? I could rattle off a couple of things I've gleaned from interesting cable/sat channels (like the Science channel or Discovery HD theater) but that would only provide fodder (IMO) for people to suggest God would not want that or if we trusted God we wouldn't need this, etc.

So, he was about 91 when he died? That's awesome! I hope he'll be an inspiration to you for the rest of your life too. Thanks for sharing him with us. :)

Indeed, the problem is not with any people in particular. Ning.com has had its hands very full since Friday with a corporate problem that impacted its computer/technical operation and ultimately had some adverse impact on our site. We do expect it to be back up anytime, but have to be patient with ning. It is, afterall, a free service that they provide. If/when I learn that it is back in operation, I will let everyone here and all the wc site members know... :)

Just today, my second stent procedure got scheduled for about two weeks from now. And I've been to the gym 4 times since being given clearance last Tuesday. I feel great. :)

With as much as you exercise, you probably do not have any problems with blood sugar levels... which makes niacin a good supplement. And given that we don't have the cold weather here that you do in the winter, I have no occasion to need cayenne in the shoes/socks, but we used to do that at Emporia sometimes... Sounds like you've at least had the equivalent of heart attack(s)... I'm glad you are still able to exercise.

I first took cayenne in the late 1970s. I lived in Los Angeles for about 6 and a half months before going in residence at Emporia. I began having nose bleeds, apparently from the bad air in LA (after being in LA for about 4 months). Someone shared about the cayenne cocktail... mixing loose cayenne in water. That was wicked/nasty... but it stopped the nose bleeds. I've learned since that you can get (or put) it in gelatin capsules... makes it a WHOLE lot easier to take. Regarding NIACIN... it is also effective in lowering cholesterol... I used to take it but NOT the time release formula. Also, NOT niacinamide... which is NOT effective for cholesterol. BUT -- and this is a BIG DEAL... do NOT take NIACIN if you're diabetic. NIACIN elevates blood sugar levels.

I spent 4 days in the VA medical center last month, with an IV in my arm taking in a strong anti-thrombolytic drug... about 10 days after I got out, I went to a different hospital (but the same intervention cardiologist) for the stent procedure. Today, I received a bill/statement from the other hospital... it ALMOST gave me another coronary! :blink: The statement said I owed this other hospital, for the procedure, for which I was there for a grand total of THREE hours, $40,942.63. American dollars. How freaking outrageous. So, needless to say, I called this hospital to say/ask WTF!!! They calmly said not to worry about it, the VA is going to pay for the procedure... Then I said I couldn't believe the VA was going to pay anywhere near $41,000. They said, no, of course not... the VA will only pay about $6,100. The moral of the story? Stop smoking. Lose weight (if you are overweight or worse). Exercise. Eat healthy food. We're NOT 20 years old anymore. ALL of those things (or each of them) cost FAR LESS than being billed $41K for a three hour session ... and bypass surgery would naturally be MUCH more invasive to your body and your wallet... especially if you don't have medical/health insurance coverage.

But those guys can't play in the playoffs???
