  1. As One of the Offcial First Weenie Roasters I apologize fer not makin it there this year, I was really planing on makin' it there. I went mule ridin' this year out in tha Ozark's the week before and got home Sat am wif two broken ribs an a sore *** an couldn't make it. I can see from tha photo's it was my loss! I am still nursin them ribs, so ya'll say a rib blessin' fer me! I got kicked by a mule,,,,,theymake sore ribs,,,,,but not near as bad as a scar as TWI. Sure am sorry I missed ya's.
  2. Last years Little League World Series Team was from Valley Sports in Louisville, Ky. I played on the same team back in the late sixties , so it was thrill for me seeing them win tha world series of Little League. I think my next big thrill in baseball will be seeing Tony LaRussa lead the Cardinals to another World Series Championship!. I think he deserves to go out on a Winners Note!
  3. tonto...ditto what alfakat said....let us know,,,its always nice to hear of friends reuniting on a friend tracker thread!
  4. outandabout,,,,,this comes from the heart of a friend,,,,,,,deleting, editing , and you forgot one add libin'......yer still a wonderful person! We should have both listened my advice sooner than we did.....but glad to see ya are recovering as well!
  5. perhaps I issed something,,,ckeer...do you mean I can retire at 65 and live off 4.75% of my net worth,? Hell I ain't waiting that long, I may quit tommorrow.

  8. I have been buying dirt for a few years cause they ani'nt maki'n no more of it! And started investing in Cracker Barrell Restaurant Stock back in 89, so's ya'll stop in and eat one whenever ya get tha chance. Hape good pholosphy ya got there,,,,,whether it be on-line orvia the stamp method,,,,always pay on time! Helps ya realize what ya got to work wif next month! I have a pretty good chunk in a 401K, and no doubt some SS built up , but I like the realestate investment the best. It affords you tha opportunity to gamble and not loose unless you like going broke on fixer upper's! I think sometimes we define retirement wif the wrong phraseolgy tho! If money was the terms I could retire tommorrow,,,I think our standard of living plays a major role in retirement often overlooked. I know several rich people retired that are bored stiff!
  9. Exie,,,,,,or should I call ya ExCathedra...ya wannna go snipe huntin in tha bluegrass then we can be friends according to some rules. But I promise not to cheat,,,,I'll give ya head start! OK!!!!!!....Yer friendly tour guide to tha bluegrass!
  10. Cindy,,,,,when I think of no child left behind I have remberances of the Home of the Innocents here in Louisville where I have a concrete horse implanted. It stands in the entrance driveway as a rememberance of what I could have been! And somethng to keep me in touch wif reality wif what I can can be for the next generation!
  11. I think one of the best things i have ever heard said about my involvement in the Way was something a woman said last year at the weenie roast after taking a group picture of all that was in attendance and asking how we met. And when someone informed her that we had met via the internet she replied....Well it all can't be bad and life really is short as we know it! I think sometimes we forget about those attentive ears out there! I for one have met some wonderful friends here and pray the rest of you have too! I sometimes think the keystroke is softer than we really want to believe because of our nature and training! I have been reading these forums for the past two months sober and now look at them a little different. I think perhaps we are all a little too apt to critique one anothers motives and best wishes! Godspeed to all....I will continue to enjoy your words of wisdom but perhaps be a little more apprehensive in pouring out tha pear juice! In answer to tha original question,,,,,,I say NO!!
  12. amen sista Mary Cate! I thik tis place is like any other visit typin,,,,,I get out it what I put into it, fer bad or worse, good or better! It's not illegal to talk like this is?
  13. I fer one have met many great sharks here and will continue to swimm tha sea wif em" .
  14. Valerie,,, I'll always be ya friend! I don't mean to single ya out fer that remark either, but knowingyou from those neophyite days at the Beach I feel like I can say that and it will be believed. I have a saying that I still hang onto from the way and have found it helpful in my endeavours,,,,,A Friend is a person I ain't met yet! I still look fer some good now and then,,,,,,,,thats why I coontinue browsing here,,,,,,what great folks we are to enjoy this type fellowshipping together, thanks be to Paw and all the posters that keep us typing. Happy 4th of July to All!!!!!
  15. I got him running daily up this hillside behind tha house and learning how to do diamond style pushups and swing a double - bit axe chopping wood. That should give him all the phsical attributes he needs... now If'n I can just get him to watch me demonstrate the art of pitchin' ...he will have it down!
  16. I got a six foot two 14 yr old Im tryin to teach to pitch Simon,,,,so's maybee we can recoup those standards!
  17. Simon,,,,I watched him hit one out as a solo for win at St. Louis against the Giants......Willy went 0 fer 4 that day
  18. Simon....correct me if'n I'm wrong but Lolich did at one time play fer the same people as Denny McClain did,,,and I do believe he set some new records!
  19. Amen Brotha!!!!!!!!,,,,But I grew up in tha Shadow's of Bob Gibson and Sandy Koufax,,,,,,National Leagure's ya know what I mean!
  20. Simon,,,,,,I really apologize first off....but I think tha american league should stop playin them pitchers that are fa t and can't run!!!!!
  21. this is conflicting with my yearly cross country mule ride thru the ozarks, but I am still gona see if'n I can't make it for sunday and monday! I'll have to get back with ya's...but as now I might not show up till late Sat night! Travel times on my journeeeey thru the ozarks mule ridin' are forthcoming and will know more in in a couple weeks. But regardless I'l be there for a couple days! Look forward to seeing ya'll!
  22. Jesus Freaky.....yes Cory and I will be camping. Does anyone know if'n we can reserve adjoining campsites? And are fires allowed at the campsites? I got plenty of firewood.
  23. Happy Birthday and Happy Mothers Day Parsley !!!
  24. Thanks Rascal for starting this thread. So far I have been in stitches just reading! I will bring plenty of sausage and fixin's fer some campfire bambi delight. I guess they have camping areas where we can build our normal type of bed wetting campfires. I am gona call the park soon and perhaps feel em' out a little on the campfire scene. I do know we are gona need a cabin for afterhours kazzoing and such is why I mentioned I might just stay in a cabin this year. I did notice on their website ,private boats are'nt allowed so I'll be leaving mine at home! However, I will bring lots of cooking gear and other camping sundry's! I think because we are having it so late in the year this time that the pear tree will have shed its fruit by then and there will be an ample supply of nectair! Yer friendly tour guide to tha bourbin regions of tha bluegrass state...Littlehawk!
