Yes, the episode where the DS9 bunch visits Risa. Worf is willing to turn the ship around if Quark doesn't do what he says, Quark gives everyone-except Worf- a hohrgahn (or however it's spelled), and we find out how Kurzon Dax died. We also learn more about Worf's childhood. Personally, I thought this was an interesting episode, partly because of the idea that places like Risa were making the Federation an easier target by its enemies. Frankly, I think this could have been explored a bit further in another episode. Your turn!

"What's he going to do? Turn around and take me home? Ruin everyone's vacation?" "Coming about. Setting course for Deep Space Nine." "Okay, okay. You made your point. I'm going. But first, I have a little present for everyone. One for you, one for you, one for you...And none for you." "We had a wonderful time. Until I killed him." "Killed him?" "Death by jamaharon. I suppose there are worse ways to go." "Trust me. He died happy." "All that is ours is yours." "Aren't you uncomfortable in that uniform?" "Starfleet uniforms are designed for comfort in even the most extreme environments." ".....we encountered a protostar cluster. A swirling mass of color, set against a background of glowing clouds and burning sky. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw... until now." "We're dedicated to restoring the moral and cultural traditions of the Federation."

"Jack, please, I'm only an elected official here, I can't make decisions by myself!" "I hope there's still time." "To fix Christmas? Of course there is! I'm Santa Claus!"

That's from Madagas--- no, wait, he said it differently there. That's Charlton Heston's closing lines from the original "Planet of the Apes." (I don't know about the remake.)

Welcome. Besides a variety of flavors of non-Christian, we have Christians of a pretty wide variety who post here from time to time. You'll find your beliefs are probably already represented here. Then again, that really doesn't matter. Posting here with manners and kindness count for a lot more around here than one's creed, convictions or beliefs.

For the curious, here's where the lines came from... "Meet me at Omar's. Be ready for me. I'm going after that truck." "How?" "I don't know, I'm making this up as I go." Indy jumping on the horse. His line about "making this up as I go" was, I thought, fairly famous. "You can't do this to me, I'm an AMERICAN." Marion, getting captured. "Bad dates." "They're digging in the wrong place." Both are from the scene where Indy and Sallah study the original Headpiece to the Staff of Ra. One Nazi had accidentally "copied" the writing on the front- which was affected by the writing on the back, which they didn't have. So, despite using the map room, they got the wrong location, and Sallah and Indy said it together: "They're digging in the wrong place." Sallah turns around and begins to walk away, singing happily. ("I am the monarch of the sea...") Indy grabs a date from the bowl, and throws it in the air to catch in his mouth. Suddenly, Sallah grabs it out of the air- and points to the dead, poisoned monkey. "Bad dates." "Very dangerous. You go first." I was about to post another line I thought was memorable, but Flow7 got it.

It is indeed! Your turn to post a movie.

"Miracle on 34th Street." Different theme on this thread, I see.

I vaguely recall an episode where someone had a piece of jewelry where it shapechanged, the first hint Odo supposedly had of his own species. The rest of it's not coming to me.

I recognize the "Vienna Boys Choir" comment. This is "Once Bitten." IIRC, this was before Jim Carrey was "discovered." It's one of a few movies I've seen where it's a better movie if you miss the first 5 minutes and jump in starting the SECOND scene. I also didn't recognize CLEAVON LITTLE. There's an actor who doesn't get around very often. Was that Lauren Hutton as the vampire?

Seems like some of us might want to look into things, instead of just jumping to the conclusion that they have all THEIR facts straight, but the GSC'ers do NOT...

So did anyone try and stop the Cyclops' reign?
WordWolf replied to Bolshevik's topic in About The Way
"the Way:Living in Love." pg-210 ""Do you know that three times in those early years people tried to kill me?" he remarks suddenly, facing me squarely. I wait, hoping for details, but Doctor relaxes his shoulders in a barely noticeable gesture, and then launches into a new theme. " -
The whole concept of vpw as the MOGFOT- or there BEING one at all- was an oral tradition. He was never fool enough to put it in writing.

BTW, citizens from the rest of North and South America would appreciate it if we stopped calling ourselves "America", as if we were the only country in this hemisphere....

Is this the DS9 episode where the other changeling arrives on the station, and Odo has to deal with it?

VPW and the Gnostic Gospels
WordWolf replied to Broken Arrow's topic in Doctrinal: Exploring the Bible
Just from my thinking, in my opinion, vpw was an inferior, lazy researcher who cut corners whenever and wherever he could, and goofed off whenever and wherever he could. Thus, I don't think he relied on a text or system that was in existence- he would have had to FIND it first, and that would have taken WORK. Even to STUMBLE ACROSS something useful takes working on something else and finding it by accident, which, again, brings us back to doing WORK. Since vpw went to the House of Acts and Haight-Ashbury LOOKING for justifications and excuses to claim that God permitted ORGIES and the like, I conclude vpw hadn't FOUND a sufficient pretext to claim that. (He didn't find one THERE, either.) I think vpw cobbled together what he wanted after being unable to find what he wanted prefabricated. Those who want to follow up on this a little might want to look up a few terms.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manichaeism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnosticism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnosticism#The_main_features_of_gnosticism -
