  1. Saturday would be my pick of days... I could bring bring something for dessert. This could really be a fun get together!!! :)-->
  2. A would tell a co-worker they have a buger hanging... of course a buger is an easy poll question... What I am trying to figure out is how to tell a co-worker that she has toooooo much perfume on. I'm serious, I can tell where she has been 10 min. after she has left because of lingering perfume odors.
  3. I am good with either date. JJ Welcome to GS.
  4. Sushi, verbal, phx84, azraee, etc... You have been a great person to talk to and learn from. I hope that you have a fantastic Birthday and many more great birthdays to come.
  5. Rottie, Happy Birthday!! :D--> Are ya having a BBQ on your Birthday ;)-->
  6. Has anybody else given this any more thought? I hope that this "get together" works out for every body. 12 July 2003 is still good for me.
  7. One more thing (to add fuel to this fire)... Most airlines can (but don't always) charge a person who is... how shall I put this... Too wide for their seat, for two seats. When I fly, I don't want someone else's...ummmm... "over hang" on my seat. I have asked to be re-seated because of another passanger's butt taking up part of my seat. But, in fairness. Airline seats and seating is not designed for either large people or tall people (I am 6"5').
  8. Rottie, I cook on my BBQ in the winter :D--> I even eat the food on my patio. Dosn't everybody :P--> :D--> I love Arizona in the winter :)-->
  9. Rottie, IMO, food tastes better cooked over charcoal. BUT, Gas grills involves less prep. time. easier clean-up. Since I mostly cook on the BBQ for only myself, I use a gas (propane) grill.
  10. Do we dare ask how you know this information?? :D--> ;)--> Maybe, I should go verify your story... --> Oh, can I borrow a few dollars? :P-->
  11. Suzie, You are a wonderful friend! I hope that you have a wonderful Birthday!!
  12. Also, Simon, something about you just says leader. you got my vote :)-->
  13. How about this... We meet on 12 July at Karmicdebt's house. I think that Karmicdebt should decide on the times... for food, we could try to do a pot luck type of thing... (I can make a decision, but it might not be the correct one. Actually, it looks like we have come up with a variety of good ideas with out a "leader".) Here are a couple suggestions for rules though: 1. We don't have to wear name tags. 2. Chairs don't need to be strung. Any other suggestions?
  14. For planning purposes... If you are going to bring a "guest, children, spouse", at some point we should get a "body count". As well as how we want to do the food. (I will speak for myself here, I am looking forward to meeting everybody than the food. However, I'm sure the food will be good). :)--> Over50nfree, I would be happy to meet up for coffee when you're back in Tucson.
  15. Rocky and Outin88 Thank you for your responce. Rocky, You are much better at wording and phrasing things better than I do. Thank you.
  16. Let me ask a question... Does anybody have a problem with meeting at Karmicdebt's house (southern Tucson) on 12 July 2003? I myself like the idea. I think it will be a good place to just chat for awhile. I myself am looking forward to meeting all of you more than a "lunch" someplace.
  17. Simon, I wish I was smart enough to figure out how to put up a poll here. Anybody, HELP!!!! I should mention that Karmicdebt is a fantastic cook and a wonderfull hostess.
  18. Simon has brought up a good point. We don't have to wear name tags and chairs don't need to be strung. The Tucson area would be easier for Karmicdebt and myself. This sounds like it's going to be fun :D-->
  19. Oreganos sounds good to me. Can we get a consencus? If we agree on the place, the next would be the date and time...
  20. Ohbehave, think about the wonderful winters here in Arizona. With the Grand Canyon, Kartchner Caverns, Collosol Cave, Arizona is a holy place --> :P--> I love Arizona in the winter time :D--> :)-->
  21. Let me through out another question... If, we meet at someplace to eat... What are some of the likes/dis-likes? For me... Italian food, is it's own food group. Mexican food is always good. I like good oriental food. In general, I am a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy. If I eat sea food, I turn all sorts of "pretty" colors... Then I might do a scene from the exorcist (guess which one...). Of course, we could find a grill... I think it's sometimes funny to see how different people like their grilled foods. I have seen the range go from a "light sunburn" to "burnt sacrifice". Ohbehave, you would be most welcome to come back and do that "c" word ;)-->
  22. Rocky is correct, I should have phrased the comment concerning the temperatures better. As Rocky stated, Patagonia Lake is a very pretty area. It can also be a crowded area. I have been in long lines waiting to enter the park and I have talked to friends who have been turned away because the park was full. Weekdays would be less crowded than weekends. How would weekdays be for everybody? For a quick re-cap: The places that have been mentioned for a meeting place are: A Cabaret in Phoenix A Restaurant in Tucson At Patagonia lake People who have thus far shown an interest in attending are: Outin88 Rocky Simonzelots Karmicdebt NoLongerlurking (who would be a welcome guest from California if she could make it) And myself. A general time frame of 12 July 2003 is up for consideration. Two activities that were brought up that I would take a pass on would be getting a tattoo and running 10 K.
  23. NLL, The Temps in Southern AZ (Patagonia and Cochise county) and In Northern AZ (Flaggstaff & Grand Canyon area) are not nearly as bad as in the Phoenix and Tucson area. I just checked... You can't reserve camp sites at AZ state parks, they are first come, first serve.
  24. Rocky, Thank you for your input. Your insights are most welcome. I am hoping that more people will ?chime in?. Everybody?s opinion is important. I am hoping for a collective group effort on the where and when... For the sake of argument let me through out a tentative date of: Saturday 12 July 2003. I think Patagonia Lake would be fun. The possible drawbacks ?could be? 1. It is a long ways away for the good folks up in the Phoenix area (I have also heard that people in the Phoenix area like to get away from the Phoenix area). 2. It might be very busy and difficult to get a site (I will check more into this).
  25. Concerning location... I am by FT Huachuca (Sierra Vista)... Tucson is about 75 miles and Phoenix is about 200 miles away (you get the idea...). I don't mind doing "some" traveling... I guess the questions come down to where and when. The school year is starting to come to an end. Some of the people here are taking college courses and there weekends are involved in school work. There are also parents here who might be helping there kids with school work or attending the last "events" their kids will be particapating in this year. With this in mind, what do you think of having this get together after the school year? I am in favor of getting together "someplace" in Tucson. Let me also suggest, that the "location" be "children friendly" if some of the parents decide they want to bring their kids. Like a peter piper pizza or park etc., where the kids could be entertained if we end up spending a lot of time talking. Please continue to make comments or suggestions. I think this could be fun...
