  1. Rocky, You make a good point. I think we all have "comfort zones" on who and what type of people we want to be around. I am sure CFF, CES or what ever else group, has some really good people as well as a few "jerks" associated with it. If anybody wants to "belong" to one of these groups... I hope you find good and kind people.
  2. I think that is not fair, nor rational thinking to lump any/all ?offshoots? in the same category. Let alone in the same category as twi. Each group should be rated on there own merits (or demerits). (I am not associated with: CFF/CES/CBC etc?)

It's been a few years since I heard anything... Last I heard, she is/was living in the NYC area. I think she was doing the C.G. classes... I remember meeting her a few times. She was a very nice lady. "A friend in need, is a pest". Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

  9. I have (and use) quick verse ver. 4. I also have ver 7 (it sucks). I got ver 7 because ver 4 wasn't compatable with my new puter. After I complained about ver 7, they sent me a patch for ver 4. And gave me a discount for "pre-ordering" ver 8. Ver 8 is supposed to have the same capabilities as ver 4 plus a few more things...
  10. Up on high, You should really check with a DR on the time required to mend... There are going to be too many factors to determine on the amount of time: The type and/or severity of the injury. age (it takes me longer to mend now than it used to) Just because you might "feel fine" does not mean that you are fine. I have "come back" too soon after an injury (because it felt fine -->). And ended up needing to take an extra couple weeks off.
  11. Any type of muscle pull or tear will require time to heal. If you don't let any type of injury heal properly, you will have problems down the road (pun intended :P-->). You need to check with your DR.
  12. A rule of thumb for me (one who has many --> sports relateted injuries). If after a day with the ice and trying to massage it out... and you have no noticable improvement... you most likely have a tear. You need to see a doctor (I have one that is very familiar with sports related injuries.). Ask your DR. what you can and can't do as far as re-hab. One thing I do know... From now on... you will need to do more stretching before and after your workouts.
  13. Among other things... This place allows for a full range of thinking and different perspectives. And every perspective has a value. As opposed to, the "ONLY" right perspective was the perspective of twi. Here is a place for people to begin thinking for themselves again. As well as learning not to get "bullied" into an oppinion. But, at the same time learn other perspectives, which leads to being more "well rounded" on various topics. As you well know we have a wide array of posters here. From the "heavy" thinkers to the all "fluff" and no "stuff", and everthing in between. Where else do you see a group of people who admit that they were actually stupid enough to belong to a cult? But, smart enough to get out. And, compassionate enough to help others leave the same cult. One last point (for now), As seen in another thread, if it wasn't for this place... Some of the posters here might be wnadering the streets :P--> ;)--> In closing, Paw, thanks for all the work you do to keep this place together. :)-->
  14. Gee, it sounds like you are talking about my old "wow brother". What a leach!!! IMO, the "career wow" (as you correctly put it) I am sure was a "program" for passing along "immature believers". This was a common practice before M&A became the "method of choice". The question of where they are now is a multiple choice answer: A. They pulled there head out of there @$$ and got some REAL job skills and/or education and have jobs. And are out of twi (one way or another) B. They are still working at some low wage job in a "way home" (of sorts). either still in twi or in an offshoot. C. Still in twi in some type of leadership position (where they don't have to work while still living off of other people's money) gag me!!! D. A skid row bum or residing in a homeless shelter/ E. In jail (most likely as a sex offender). This thread almost seems like it should be in a different forum...
  15. Mary, You, your Mom and the rest of your family are in my prayers.
  16. Suz and Geo, Have a Funtastic Anniversary! :D--> And may you have many more years of happiness together.
  17. A virus just one of the offices I work with... They told me it was ugly!!! The computer people had everybody dis-connect from the network. Then they had to check and "clean" the file server. Then they were going to each machine. Oh, by the way. This happened on an Army base where I work. (There are fire walls and other levels of security. But, a virus still got through). Have you updated your virus software today?
  18. Lighting change earns praise from group, astronomers By Nate Searing Herald/Review COCHISE COUNTY -- To help shield local residents from unnecessary light and preserve the night sky for amateur and professional astronomers, the U.S. Border Patrol revamped a series of its light poles along the border near Naco. Its earnest work and responsiveness to local residents complaining about the light pollution led a Tucson-based astronomy organization to present the government agency with an award. In all, the Border Patrol retrofitted 19 light poles stretching west from the Naco Port of Entry along the border with light-shields, said Frank Amarillas, a spokesman for the agency's Tucson Sector. Each pole is fitted with three bulbs that were lowered by 45 degrees and reduced in intensity to control their output. None of the changes made to the border lights has affected Border Patrol's efficiency or effectiveness in monitoring the border region. The old lights were initially installed in June 2002, with almost immediate complaints about too much light coming from neighbors, said Doug Snyder, an amateur astronomer living in Palominas. "Naco became lit up like Las Vegas," Snyder said. "People could see (the lights) from as far as 20 miles away." Snyder worked directly with the Border Patrol's Naco station to find ways to control the lights' output. The vice president of the Huachuca Astronomy Club, Snyder also fielded complaints about the lights from dozens of amateur astronomers from as far away as Sierra Vista. To calm the outpouring of complaints against the new lighting system, retrofitting work began within a month of the system's installation and was completed in November 2002 with a considerable reduction of light leakage from the border lights, Snyder said. Like other residents with telescopes or amateur observatories rendered useless by the light, Snyder was able to again operate the observatory at his Palominas home. "Its been a lifesaver to have such a quick response from Border Patrol," Snyder said. For its efforts, the Border Patrol will receive the Excellence in Outdoor Lighting Award from the Southern Arizona International Dark-Sky Association today. The awards ceremony was to take place in Sonoita, but was moved to Tucson last week to better accommodate presenters in the city. Awards are given out about once a month through the association to reward individuals, businesses and government entities that work to promote dark skies and help amateur and professional observatories by limiting their light output. "We're always happy to see a group as large as (the Border Patrol) taking the initiative to keep the night sky pristine," SA-IDA Chairman John Polacheck said Monday. REPORTER Nate Searing ------------------------------------------------------------------ Zix, I read this and thought of you. You and your telescope can come on down and stargaze.
  19. Vickles, Thanks for the invite. However I can't make it. I hope you have as much fun at your get together as I enjoyed the little get together with the folks that live here in Arizona.

  21. Phoenix is about 125 miles north of Tucson. Tucson is about 75 miles north of me. Also concerning temps... it's cooler in Tucson than it is in Phoenix. And, it's cooler where I live than in Tucson :P-->
  22. Here in Arizona... We have been planning a get together for a while now... And guess what!?!?! On 19 July it's gonna happen :D--> We are getting together in Tucson. It started in the "state" section in the forums... As the date drew closer, a "private thread" was started, where we are/were working out some of the details (along with e-mails). The hardest parts were deciding the "when and where's". A big thank's goes to Karmicdebt for the hard work she did on makeing this happen. :)--> [This message was edited by Zshot on July 15, 2003 at 10:44.]
