  1. I originally replied to dmiller's question, then saw that I got to the party a little late. You can speak in tongues if you have the holy spirit is NOT the same thing as You must speak in tongues or you don't have the holy spirit. I never heard Wierwille say anything even approaching that, and if TWI started ACTING as if that were true, they did it after I left, because I never heard it.

    The Cone of Wilma

The forecast track seems to be moving to the south, so you may get away with this party. I'd say 50/50 right about now.
  3. No, this wasn't obscure. To geeks. :)

You should be fine for your travel, but the wedding looks like it's in trouble.

    The Cone of Wilma

    Just perfect. Just bloomin perfect.
  6. This thread is hereby re-christened "The Producers." Movie and broadway posts are accepted. That outta do it. :)
  7. And when effect is used as a verb, it means... CAUSE! I hate that.
  8. By the way, on Gitarzan, look at the first letter of each line of my post.
  9. Pointy-headedness beats sycophantic idolatry any day. Actually, pointy-headedness is apparently Mike's way of saying "careful analysis of the facts and truth as they relate to what I actually wrote."
  10. Aye, Chihuahua? Is this the movie pictionary thread?

    Welcome

    There goes the neighborhood. :)
  12. RULEBREAKER! AWAY WITH YOU!!!! Just kidding. I would have posted the next one, but I just posted the last one, and it took forever, so yours is as good a place to start as any. :)
  13. I was looking forward to Hurricane Zeke, myself.
  14. Allan, Not to defend Mormonism, but according to Wierwille's doctrine, if Hitler had been born again as a teenager, then committed all his atrocities, he'd be heaven-bound and all hell couldn't stop him from going. Is that any less weird than what the Mormons believe? And what did you say about "organization" that you're taking back?
  15. Guess we should give them a hand, eh George? I didn't think so either. Tough clue. Not a song most people think of off the top of their heads. And another thing: it's got a funky spelling. Reminds me of the time I was dreaming of all the women who kept company with the Greek god. Zeus! Yeah, that was his name. And most didn't even know it was him! Nitwits.
  16. You guys are going straight to Gehenna in a handbasket, finding humor in the pain of your fellow man! I'm telling you, thoe Reckless and Hilarious Devil Spirits are coming after you! I'm reporting this thread to modnuthinbettertodo!
  17. to put something in bold on Greasespot, you need to put the letter "b" in brackets []. Then, to get out of bold, you put "/b" in brackets. The type of computer you use shouldn't make a difference. There's an easier way, too. If you hit "add reply," NOT "Fast Reply," then you can type to your heart's content. Anything you want. Doesn't matter. Then take the word you want in bold and highlight it. Just above the area where you start typing, there's a B (look to the right of the smileys). Click on the B, and the brackets will show up around the text you've selected. See? It's easy!
  18. Someone had a smiley for group hugs once. Oh well. GROUP HUG!
  19. Ah, so now we have TWO ex-JW ex-Ways in da HOUSE! Yeah!
  20. WordWolf, tell the truth... You enjoyed that.
  21. Actually, I wasn't defensive when you pointed out that the JWs had their own translation. I merely said that the translation of YHWH as Jehovah in the Old Testament made sense. They're not the only ones who do it, and there's nothing wrong with that. That's why I said your criticism was an "incomplete" statement. You inadvertently made it sound as if they shoved the name Jehovah all over the Bible where it does not belong, when in fact your criticism applies almost entirely to the NT and just about not at all to the OT. And one last thing... I did receive Jet's apology, and I would accept it if I were offended at all. The apology was unnecessary. The reason I did not communicate that I was upset is... Well, I wasn't upset. :) But more to the point, I didn't follow up on this thread after I posted, for which I apologize.
