  1. I agree with Belle. How important is it? Why did he spend all of that time on those kinds of things? Whether Judas hanged himself or impelled impelled himself is another one. When vp got to that one in PFAL, I remember thinking first time, he was just trying to be different and have people think HE was the know-it-all--which, probably wasn't too far from the truth. Another first impression first time through was that he seemed more like a salesman than a preacher. But, everyone else seemed to BELIEVE everything he said so I thought, oh well, maybe I need to learn some meekness and suck it up. Hence, my 15 years in twil

  4. Thanks WW and John. Sounds reasonable and I'll take your advice. Over and out (for now).
  5. Does anyone know why I downloaded this to my computer? OK, OK, that's not a fair question. The real question is do I need it? I never use it as far as I know. Is it OK to delete? Wb
  6. Actually, I called Gateway Friday and was surprised that an XP upgrade is only around $200. Pretty reasonable, huh? Thx for the suggestion. I'll get around to it soon, I hope. LOL. WB
  7. Steve! I.O.U. a steak dinner! My computer shutdown twice really fast after I did what you suggested (shutdown all programs, did ctrl+alt+delete, selected rundll, clicked the end task button). Voila! Thank you Ten Zillion times Steve!!! I now have 88% free and my computer hasn't run this good since I first bought it. Thank u, Thank u, Thank u, Thank u. YOU the man!!!!!
  8. Steve, The two "w" bugs are gone now. I checked properties on rundll and rundll32 and they are microsoft programs so I didn't delete them for now. Then I did a google search and read about them here: MS Rundll and Rundll32 Apparently these are installed on Windows NT and 95/98. Are you sure I should delete these?

    YES !!!!!!!

Did I miss something? You got engaged, right?
  10. Steve! I found and deleted wtoolsa.exe and wtoolsb.dll. Could not find them in the control panel (looked in add/remove programs mainly). Also, when I rebooted a window popped up named PPclean with a message that said "PPclean is killing pests. Do not be alarmed." Is this spyware? Also, I found Rundll in Windows Explorer and started to delete it but it said there was a Program attached to it that would not run if deleted so I didn't. How do I find wtoolsa.exe and wtoolsb.dll in the control panel? Thanks for your help!! My computer now has around 80% freed space as opposed to 62% a few days ago.
  11. OK, Steve, I printed your instructions and am off to hopefully "fix" stuff (LOL--interpreted PRAY! (that I do it right).
  12. Well, if the Red Soxs are the underdogs, I am secretly for them (Go Soxs!).
  13. Steve! thanks! When I hit ctrl+alt+delete, I got a list of something but nothing that said "task viewer." Anyway, my list after Internet Explorer in the screen looks like this: Rundll Pcclient Pcciomon Systray Wtoolsa Wsup Pib Tbps Pccguide Do you have any idea what these things are? There is a Rundll one listed in the startup classified file link that you told us about but I couldn't find the others.
  14. Does anyone else have this problem who is running Windows 98? More than half the time, it won't shutdown. Someone at Gateway told me that was a glitch in Windows 98 and said to just hit ctrl+alt+delete when it won't and that would do it. Doesn't work. Does anyone else know how to fix this or set something so it doesn't happen almost everytime?
  15. WW, Thanks for that. I used to try to run Spybot, but it would come up with a list and say they were already quarantined. Then, I realized our virus software, PC-Cillian, was already running it somehow??? Anyway, thanks for the tips. WB
  16. OK. That was checked so I left it checked. Now I'm ready to do Start/Run/ and type in MSCONFIG. Applets, hummmmmm. Couldn't find the applets from your paragraph: There was nothing after load= or run= so that section seems ok.
  17. THANks!!! Do I need Desktop Themes (should it be checked) under the Windows Setup Tab in Add/Remove in the Control Panel?
  18. WW, Just downloaded the latest LavaSoft Ad-Aware software and ran it. I had, at last count, 658 objects!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have Mercy! No wonder it was runnning so slow! Geeze! Thanks for the suggestion. :)--> Also, how do you use the Immunization Function and should I use the Smart System Scan or the Full System Scan or Other? Thanks!
  19. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Today, I ran Ad-Aware, haven't updated to 1.5 yet WW, my virus software, and even did a disk cleanup, which freed up lots of space. Then I went to my yahoo.com email and downloaded some free firewalls, etc., rebooted, and came back and DSL was running a lot faster, but my "freed up" space went back down to 64%. But DSL is running a lot faster ......and they said I would have to have 75% free space for that to happen. Hope it continues at the same speed tomorrow. :)-->
  20. I agree with Kit. There's nothing wrong with placeholders. We all need them. Sometimes we can't get the job we want right away so we take what we can get. That's a placeholder until we get into our field. Thank God for placeholders :D-->
  21. Gosh, Cowgirl, these are sooooooo beautiful. I can't decide which is my favorite--there are so many good ones to choose from.
  22. Right, Pirate. It was more about him than about her or them. Most people, at least, I am more interested in what his wife as First Lady would bring to the table, not really what his children are about. Speaking for myself :)-->
