  1. Or, another option, Wordwolf, might be that he just can't say he was R,R,R,R,R,R.....wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrong. Only guessing, of course -->
  2. Dan said: LOL, Dan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What a great analogy.
  3. :)--> ...and taking everyone's memory into account...I know mine bites sometimes --> --> -->
  4. Oldies said: Yes, Oldies, to answer your question, I DO believe we are truly free agents. Adam AND Jesus proved that. They just made different choices. As Oenophile said, when we CHOOSE to follow what we believe God wants us to do out of love, that is what He asks us to do because what we do outside of love = nothing.
  5. No, Dan, but I saw The Gospel According to Matthew and it was GREAT. My friends and I just call it the film about the "happy" Jesus because the person who played him was so light hearted and happy most of the time. Also, to answer my own question, we saw the Jesus flick in question...according to John...and it was very good and definitely worth renting. It's on 2 CDs so we broke it up over 2 nights and enjoyed it very much.
  6. OM said: OM, that subject was not brought up prior to your statement above and has not been discussed by me. So how would you know my views regarding it? Obviously, there are many points of potential comparison and I have only mentioned a few, the ego discussion not being one of them.
  7. Mike, Please reconsider reading the book if only to prove me and many others here wrong. I think it would serve as an eyeopener for you. I'll check back on Sunday to see if you still want to discuss. Sorry I have to leave now for the weekend :-)
  8. OM said: No, actually, I don't have a problem with that nor did I imply it. Back to the subject,The above is NOT what Rand is saying at all. Can't help but wonder why you keep comparing those two things as the same. HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
  9. OM, Why go back and change the verse in John to two in Galatians AFTER I respond? It sure sounded like you were comparing what Jesus said about being "one" in John was the same, in your opinion, as "the we" in Anthem.
  10. Yes, OM, value was placed in the individual only as they conformed to the GROUP Consciousness in Anthem. Are you saying you think communism is the same as what Jesus was espousing in that verse? And, by the way, do you have a problem with my asking Mike a question? Are you his Daddy?
  11. Mike, The problem with the Way Corps and ministry was the founder. He set the doctrines both practically and in his written materials. Agreed?
  12. Mike, Have you ever read Anthem by Ayn Rand? Yes, I know she was brought up in Russia and was an atheist, but this short little read describes in detail wayworld. Now, if twi was a Christian ministry, how could that be possible? Would you be open-minded enough to read the book and discuss? It is very short.
  13. Mike said: Hummmmmm--thought that sounded familiar. Do you think vp would be proud of you?
  14. Mike, I really enjoyed reading this paragraph in your first post: No, Dart, Jesus went down into the valley of human need and dared his adversaries to their faces so well, handled their debate challenges so well, that their only recourse was violence, and even that had to be under the cover of darkness. He went to the people who were hurting and put up with a lot of their bs, as well as their moaning and groaning and unbelief because he loved them. His mission was the impossible, and he made it possible for those with the REAL Christ in them to do it too. What a beautiful description of true love, Mike. It reminds me of one of my favorite poems entitled "Love is Brown" written by Barry ? years ago. Thanks for contributing that. WB
  15. Hey Hay, Actually, the term "to know" is used plenty of times for sex when no one got pregernent!! But, who's counting? ZShot, LOL!!!! It's not that easy being single, is it? Pirate, LOL. That is too funny...yada, yada, yada. Who else--oh, Houseisarocking--bet you can't guess what comes to mind everytime I see your handle? No offense intended--LOL!!Thanks for the comic relief. What are the abbreviations for rolling in the floor and laughing?
  16. This was one of the best movies I've seen in years! Superb western and has everything in it--action, drama, suspense, and romance! Plus Duval, Kostner, and Bening all rendered very convincing performances.
  17. Thanks, George and Jim. I'll check those out.
  18. Alfakat mentioned Ayn Rand's name on another thread and it brought to mind her novellette, Anthem. If you have not read this, please do. It describes, to a tee, wayworld and the people in it (not us, but we can relate to it because that's how we used to be--some of us more so than others--but all to varying degrees at one time). Anyway, the parallels are eerie. It's set in the world after the big one was dropped and these are the remaining people on earth and their society as it developed and how they were governed. If you want a good, short read. I recommend it highly. Take care, WB
  19. So, if someone just "happened" to drive down there for the day or something, there would be no rooms for rent so we'd have to get our own place probably outside of the park (if we don't camp type of thing). OK. That works for me.
  20. MJ, I'm liking and admiring you more and more all of the time. YOU are cool. Dear Shellon, Thank you. That was beautiful. WB
