Thanks, ex!! HCW, I'm surprised you didn't mention the pear and raisin formaldehyde-wierd-stuff with yoghurt they used to feed us for breakfast. OOughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! It still makes me sick just to think about it. Then one day, we got to RATE the meals, and yes, there WAS a GOd. The pear-formaldehyde-wierd-stuff was on it and guess what its rating was? BEAM IT UP SCOTTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(LIke they couldn't tell how much everyone hated it by the plurality bowls not being big enough to hold all of it everytime we had it for breakfast)!

Does anyone have an editable Awards Certificate?
waterbuffalo replied to waterbuffalo's topic in Open
Hey, thanks guys! I found 3 really good ones. Now, I have to hook up my new, never used, color printer! -
Hello, I need a certificate in Word that can be changed for the award and to put the child's name in it. Also, I'd like one with a nice border. Does anyone know of a website that has these for free or could someone send me one if you have one? Thanks a bunch! :D--> WB

Howard, Thanks for letting us know about NK, the truth about the people, I mean. Sounds like a BEAUTIFUL place to live. Gosh, who wouldn't want to live in a place like that? Also, I sat here crying that you chose to stay for your daughter. You are a good man! I tend to get choked up about things like that--the genuine love thing and sacrifices that have to be made always impress me.

Happy Birthday, young lady!

Who was the 11th Corps couple that JAL fixed up right before graduation who got married? Had 1-3 dates and got engaged. Anybody remember that one? I always wondered if they are still together. Last I heard they had kids.

Ala, I sent you a pt last wk :)-->

Now, here's an example of someone making a joke and it was taken seriously:

Just as an aside, my opinion, if they insult me I try not to come back in kind because that just adds fuel to the flame. I do, however, state my point again and hopefully, more clearly, to try to clarify what I meant if they misunderstood me. I think it's better to try to gain a friend than to make my point if they still don't get it. After that, I usually just let it drop.

Ditto, what Ala said, Howard!!! You must be so proud of her.

Laleo, I LOVE the way you write! My answer to above question, Satori, is ditto to Laleo's dissertation plus, hum, recognizing that when some people snap at others and then expect them to apologize is expecting the snapee to go against human nature. Fight or flight syndrome comes into play and most fight on that point. Reproof is a term I don't use anymore. If you tell me I did something to you that was insensitive, I usually apologize right away. If you tear into me, I usually fight.

HCW, I'm amazed what with your brain and your talents that you would have stayed there in NK! Gosh, you could be highly paid elsewhere. (I'm not saying you're not, please don't misunderstand me, but doesn't one typically make more in a city?)

HCW, I'm glad you can sleep most nights ok although it sounds like you still have reprecussions that have to be accommodated. Gosh, thanks for that story. I'll have to tell you mine, sometime. I never did tell anybody mine while in residence. :D-->
-
Ah, no. Why should it? I merely pointed out that I spoke to you several times on the board and in a pt and you didn't respond. No harm done, HCW. I'm glad you're here. :D-->

"Now Charles, make SURE you go down on one knee when you propose."

Thanks for the photo. NOW I remember you, Howard. We were never seated together or in Twig together so we really didn't know each other. Yes, Rochelle was a lovely girl.
-
Well, actually, I wrote you a private msg. the first day I saw the thread saying hello and sending you well wishes AND spoke to you several times on the thread and was never acknowledged until now. So, hello and thx!!!! Not whinning, just trying to communicate. I do wish you well and thank you for posting all of this. It brought back the anger I had when we were told in residence not to talk about it anymore.

...right, vickles, and actually, HCW, you have snubbed and ignored certain posters who have been very kind to you and have tried to get to know you....

Remember Radar, Al, etal, everytime Martinduke presided over the 13th Corps meetings our last year, he always mentioned what a BIG thing it was in his mind everyday when he woke up that he was prez of a "multi-million dollar corporation." Those words rang in my ears then and they still ring now. I remember thinking, "if you keep bragging so much, your words are gonna come back and bite ya." She coulda had the best medical treatment out there and twi never even would of felt it financially.
-
Oldies, I am sorry for what you went through. I remember feeling very sorrowful and praying profusely for anyone who was told to leave or had to go LOA for some reason.
-
I know most thought they were "Called of God" to go into the Corps. So, how could some man kick them out, was the feeling of most I've spoken with. It had to have been devastating! Where would you go from there? I know one woman who they let go into residence 3 or 4 times with different corps and they never did let her graduate! How sick. I hope all those who were ever LOA realize that God had nothing to do with it and are healed or getting the help they need to get perspective on it.

(((((ALA))))) You were just too good for them.

ROFLMAO, Santori :D--> (Sorry, OM, nothing personal)
