Mostly I think they just want someone around to pick on.
While that is true, think about it.
Of $50M in assets, $25M is investment capital - the market isn't doing well at all lately. Converting $1M in assets to investment capital isn't that attractive. Fixed assets including equipment increase the property value of things like Gunnison if they decide to sell it off due to high cost and lack of use. Renting equipment out. To who? Other landscaping companies in rural Ohio? Really? Where are they? Farmers just attach a mower onto their tractors.
No - when you start to look closely at the money, many of TWI's actions becomes much more clear.
Very clearly by their actions as skyrider pointed out - they LOVE THINGS, and USE PEOPLE.

The need "minions". Is that what you're saying? Heck, even the kids are bailing. Good minions are so difficult to find when you're choosy and paranoid. Good loyal minions are an endangered species on the farm now. Oh life is so rough for them!

Yes. There's a limited other market there anyway. Mostly hunters in the fall. Who bring trailers with ATV's, largely go without showers, and have a large artillery so are not very easy to order around.

Twi has many staff workers in their 60's who are stuck on staying.
Twi desperately NEEDS staff and can't find new hires.
Twi has trouble getting the auditorium 30% filled on sundays.
Twi had 69 adv class grads / 7 corps grads......dismal numbers.
This trend is ONLY going to downward spiral and they KNOW it. The gig is over. The con no longer works. The internet is exposing all their dirty laundry.
The ONLY 'success' that twi's board of directors can secretly embrace is their $54 MILLION property/investments. And, that 'success' was on the backs of thousands who left twi many years ago.

Way builders is a blast from the past. In its place is Mechanicals, Maintenance, Architecture and Engineering, and at least a couple "project managers." And they do a significant amount of outsourcing.

maybe the managers are just.. what's the word, pretending to do *something*?
