Kathy --you mentioned you were interested in banjo.

Here is some of the finest picking I have ever heard.

This evokes memories of sitting on the front porch swing,

somewhere down south, where *important* matters, have a different definition.

Life in the "slow lane". Hard day at work, peaceful relaxing after.

No worries, just a banjo in the lap, picking music,

and to heck with the rest of the world.

Click on ROCK THE CRADLE, JOE.

If I could pick banjo like this -- I'd die a very happy man.

This is as smooth as I've seen it get. :)

Fantastic!! If a man could look at ease playing he has nailed it also. Smooth is an apt word to describe his playing. Thank you, thank you!!!

Glad you liked the banjo "showcase" there!

Hey --- on the OTHER END OF THE SPECTRUM ---

Have you ever really tried to get those licks and riffs perfect while practicing,

and while you seemed to be hitting all the right notes, something wasn't right??

Perhaps your guitar is embarassed by the chair you've chosen to sit in.

What instrument wants to be seen, as it's owner picks from a tacky folding chair?

Or from one of those *restaurant chairs", with the chome frame and naugahyde seats?

Well ---FRET NO MORE! You can *ROCK* your riffs in style now. :B)

PICK-N-GLIDER has the answer to your *Blues*.

You can now own a rocking chair, that any guitar would be proud to be associated with.

Designed in mind -- for both the picker and instrument alike.

If the guitar ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!

Pick-n-glider will have you rocking and rolling, in style.

(Remember -- If you're not movin', you're not groovin'!)

Personally --- I want one of THESE!!!!!.

Imagine -- a 360 *view* of the jam -- sitting there in comfort!

No more craning your neck, to see who's playing what, at any given time!!

If you are ready for the ultimate playing experience in both movement and comfort, it's time to move up to the Pick-n-Glider Plus. The Swivel-Glide action is totally unique and as far as we know, there is nothing else like it. Not only does it glide, but it also swivels 360 degrees giving you the ultimate movement and control while playing your instrument. This complete and total freedom of movement while playing your instrument is a truly liberating experience. Of course, it is made from the finest materials like our Original Pick-n-Glider.

A la, you're going to stop fiddling around? Really?

ho ho hawuhaaaa!

Christ Duarte yes! He's good, Oaks, I haven't seen him live though. Like the music.

For some scarey Roy, GIVE THIS A LISTEN

Roy's checking out what appears to be a signature series Telecaster - it looks unrehearsed, standard Buchanan M.O.

There's a keyboard and percussion backup.

The intro/opening is long while they get set up and plugged in. The first guitar and tambourine (????) piece is soft of odd.

The second piece is cool.

Of note I thought is that Roy's single note blues/rock style is completely intact and presented, off the cuff on a new guitar that hasn't gotten broken in or Buchananized in any way. He does all of his sounds and techniques in that style for the camera, one take. And he goes 'outside' in spots too, wanders a little and pushes things around the way he does.

I remember hearing Roy B. on a TV special in about the mid 60's.

He was completely unbelievable even back then.

I was never too keen on "shredders"(Yu know, you give them a sheet of music and they run it through a shredder and sight-read what comes out the other side.)

But Roy was different. He could put a lot of heart and raw emotion into it that transcended technique. Some people work at playing outside "the box". In Roys' case, the box had a hard time trying to hold him in.

Anybody notice the reversed headstock in dmillers' post?

I saw that Fender has just released a limited edition "60's Reverse Special Strat".

If I really believed it would improve my playing I might just spring for one.

I think I'll save my money and just keep practising.

What's a reversed headstock???

I'm no expert on electric instruments,

but those looked *normal* to me.

I musta missed something there.

Ala -- 20 posts per page.

Your last one was post 1972.

Mine here will be 1973.

7 more posts, until 1.980.

And it is post 1981, that will put you at the top of the 100th page. :)

Go thou and repent.

For those that seek high places, shall be laid low.

If ye seek a place at the head of the table (errr -- page),

the Master Picker may come and say --

"Step down, and let a more worthy

uhhhh - "penitant" poster occupy this space.

Chattykathy in her humility, and continual denying of *self*

(at the top of the page),

is worthy.
