  2. Well, my 4th of July is complete. Nathan's Hot Dog eating contest was on, of all channels, ESPN. The coverage leading up to the fierce competition was hilarious. It showed the top two guys and them having their game face on, as the announcer so seriously put it, before the chowing. I am still chuckling. I was entertained until they actually started forcing wet dogs and buns down their throat. I have a weak stomach when it comes to people foaming at the mouth with what looks like regurgitated food. I gag if someone talks with food in their mouth and I see it. The boy thought it was hilarious. Must be a guy thing.

  3. I have been writing web pages lately. My web pages are pretty good, but I am having trouble with the Safari Internet browser. It does not read my web pages correctly in the area of Cascading Style Sheets. Specifically div tags. I use Div tags which is with the Cascading Style Sheet internet technology, but Safari is very slow to read them if it reads them at all. Then I updated a page today and Safari did not do the page update at all. I though there was something wrong until I went used Internet Explorer and Firefox and my pages looked fine using these browsers. Part of this thread is to blow off some steam. My pages are pretty good, but the Safari Internet browser technology wise sucks. Question now is what to do about this? Here are a couple of examples of pages that I updated or wrote in the last few days. http://www.reversiblesoccerjerseys.com/sparta-v-reversible-soccer-jerseys-color-generator.html http://www.reversiblesoccerjerseys.com/romano-reversible-soccer-jerseys-color-generator.html http://dynamoathletic.com/shorts.htm Well, even while I am writing this one of my technology associates called me and told me to refresh the browser. That I probably had an older version of Safari for the MacIntosh computer. When I hit the refresh version then the web pages loaded correctly. I may need to go to the MacIntosh web site and get an updated version. My pages now look fine the way I designed them and my question has been answered. But I am going to finish this post anyway.

  4. I'm kinda thinking that since, to use Garth's approximate wording, we've been so nicely programmed to turn our brains off by the media, by religion, by the variously perverted forms of christianity, by mind-numbingly repetitive and politically correct spew taught in K-12 that perhaps...just perhaps... a little anarchy and rebellion might be just what we need.

  5. Steve McNair was found dead today in a condo in Nashville. He was shot in the head. It apears to have been a double homicide but details seem hard to get at the moment. http://news.spreadit.org/steve-mcnair-dead-steve-mcnair-death/

  9. Now no matter what we think of scripture, if we take what is written we can consider. Jesus Christ grew up in a small town and until his ministry started he did not aquire any particular reputation to speak of that we know. The feedback that he recieved from the religous leaders had to do with his family and not him. So if we believe the record then the Messiah grew up and nobody had any freekin idea who he was. And if any do not believe, well..... Jesus ended up being a historically noteworthy person anyway, huh? And what is recorded is that people had all kinds of opinions of him even during his ministry, but when his closest disciples said they believed him to be the son of God he told them they were blessed, because God had showed it to them. So for the most part, hardly anybody knew just what the heck was going on during his ministry. Now it seems evident to me that if Jesus had deliberately abused authority like Wierwille did that the Pharisees and Saducees would have not had a hard time seeing him for what he really was at all. After all, there seems to be no controversy among anybody about what Barabas was.

  10. I like the little children analogy in the poem. Like who are we to say we are big enough to figure it all out? Better than us have gone before. I like that the same comparison may be found in 1Jn. If it is true that he will care for us as "little children" and we find grace and mercy in His sight, then perhaps we need not be intimidated by the giants of the age.

  11. However the stuff that Paul was speaking pans out in truth some things seem clear. This is not a man or woman whining about how the spouse "doesn't get them." Yeah, I suppose that learning to communicate will always be work but this phrase "judged (or discerned)of no man" is not synonymous with "she doesn't get me." And it certainly isn't synonymous with some deceptive, perverted, so-called minister who taught his own freakin kids lies in order for them to be unable to see him for what he really was.

  13. Anything that affected your thinking and behavior as strongly as TWI did is going to stick with you on an at least subconscious level. I haven't been a practicing Catholic for over thirty years, but I still can recite several of the prayers from the Mass. I still want to respond to certain situations with the punchlines of jokes that I learned in high school. It's no surprise that patterns of thought learned in TWI will float to the surface.

  14. I have been out for about 25 years now and I still find myself with waybrain. For example, I have thought of hypnosis as a possible means to help overcome severe habits such as emotional eating or smoking. But, to this day, every time I think of hypnosis my mind goes back for a moment to the old thinking that it's devil spirit operated. Speaking of devil spirits, that's another thing. Much as I don't want to, I still find myself wondering sometimes if they really aren't out there trying to get me. On another note, I went back to church for awhile a couple of years ago. Even though the folks there were lovely and nobody tried to coerce me, I still found myself dissecting the words & behaviors of my "unbeliever" associates outside the church, just like I did back in the Way. These "unbelievers" included my close friends and husband. Needless to say, when that started happening, I RAN RAN RAN away from church attendance as fast as my little legs would carry me and I haven't been back since.

  15. Dear Bride, Even though I did resist the urge to pull out my concordance on this one, it seems clear to me that your feedback is worth considering based on content alone. So I'm just going to do a little retyping and throw it out again using "discern" instead of "judge". HHHMMM

  21. it seems its the Pre-upgrade quotes that lack the formatting maybe? Are you saying those will eventually get corrected? I think I will go down to the test area to see what is new and play with it.
