  1. instead of Bennett, was it J B*rnes lawsuit???
  2. Dizzydog -- stop, you're scaring me and I'm in the country, a mere 4 states away....
  3. puh-leeeze, mj, you are reading way too much into this. This woman should absolutely NOT be living in the country if she is that easily spooked. Suing to make them understand??????? Is that your way of dealing with life -- give me a freaking break..... like our courts have nothing better to do...what a crock...
  4. ittsa ok, tonto -- sometimes us non-niner korks get ignored on dissa tread... however, being 66666666xxxxxxx kork, for me, isssa to be expectorated....
  5. Interesting recollections of the 6ckkpthh kork... Hope, I am SURE I could name most, if not all of 'em... I knew it was some wierd mo-tech but it was strange; running us down to build us up????? The last half of our first year in-rez(75/76) we stayed in the same twig and T*m J*****son was da man. He had this strange habit of calling myself and L*rry B*oth in for one-on-one reproof sessions where he would rag us and egg us on until we finally got ....ed enough to tell him, loudly and in no uncertain terms, that he was full of it and we were not the bottom-sucking scum he was making us out to be. He would then give us his TJ ChesireCat smile and say something about he was glad to hear that we knew he was wrong and how we should act like we believed that, blah, blah, blah. Real strange...after the first time, Larry and I agreed we would just play along the next time and see how it played. He got real upset because we did not lash back at him and we both told him we were on to his game. He then proceeds to allow as how it was all part of the training and we had passed that test or some other such stuff...at the time, we just wrote it off to midwest, O-hi-uhh quirkiness. Now it seems it was all part of the jerkin people around in the name of God that was SOP at wayworld...
  6. I have a problem with someone living in the country suffering that kind of anxiety attack over absolutely nothing... I suggest a nice, boring, SoCal gated community with huge houses on tiny lots, all of 'em painted one of 3 shades of "SouthWest" pink... I am sure she would "feel" much "safer"....
  7. bless me, faddah, for I have blessed......
  8. actually, the title is simply The Nephilim as listed on Amazon.com
  9. so refresh me on whose believing was at fault again when ole vp checked out......
  10. right you are, Mr. H -- article in way rag says tape...
  11. well, we could say it was your fault, om....
  12. EXACTLY. Ya see, the dumba$$ cheap Trustees should have gotten those dumba$$ Corps Coordinators and Lead Coordinators all together in one room, and hired enlarged staff and with that enlarged staff, told those dumba$$e$: hey fellas, when ya drivin' a truck, make damn sure ya have your two hands on the steering wheel, and your two eyes on the road! But those damned Trustees didn't do that. In fact, they shoulda realized something like this could happen, and conducted driving lessons too! well, they were the BOT, om ---it was their f-ing job, no?? They wanted the accolades but not the responsibility. Everything run on a frickin shoe-string...home-made trailer, my a$$...surprised the truck wasn't home-made, too. Too cheap and tight-a$$ed to do things right, like the world.... satori, I just read your last post...spot-on, EXACTLY. anyone who spent time on staff knows NOTHING was too much for ole vp, but everybody else could make-do... a home-made trailer???? fer krap's sake, not lik e they could buy a real one...
  13. yepp. jardi, my last year in rez, fall o' 77 he goes down to the church in town at pre-dawn hours mitt Moterem-coachen und karrs mitt slavish follers und alladattt and lights up the church door and nails his "95 spielesees" on door and leaves a copy of JCING(mitt invoice, perhaps?) and noisily blows back to the 'nash, all triumpphent and such....I guess... this was NK and it was Reformation Sunday, in the Lutheran Church at least ps for those who still have old Way Mags gathering dust like I do, Jan/Feb '78 has pics and a blustery, bravado-laced article about "The reformer" for "Our Times".....YMMV :D-->
  14. geeeze, this is so unbelievable -- it's as if someone wrote a script, the ego, the foolhardyness, the complete and utter contempt for doing anything "the world" would do --- LIKE USE THEIR F-ING BRAINS.... it hurts me right now to think of how avoidable this was , if not for the whole hare-brained mindset of vp, lcm and the whole damn kork program. Redeemed Time Analysis, my a$$!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I cannot find the exact figures but I distinctly remember learning during the 80s that the cost to TWI was under a dollar per book. The price was set high cuz of "percieved value", doncha know? If vp let em sell the books for $2.50 or $3.50 a pop, they wouldn't be taken "seriously", doncha know....
  16. tt, you are on to something there...if you look at enough old pics long enough, you would swear you knew everyone from somewhere....hell, you might even be right.. :P--> and I have NEVER owned an old-smo-bile in my life BUT I have owned 6 ALFA Romeos....
  17. outandabout -- you sure look familiar...are ya 8th kork??? I was 6ckkphthhh kork...that pic is from the late 70s, maybe??? Who is the gent?? he looks familiar, too...
  18. well, when I first got on line, I owned 2 Alfa Romeos (the cars) and we had 2 cats and I really enjoy jazz so that all added up to alfakat(s) as a user name and email address. Now I own 3 Alfas and we had 3 cats a couple of times but are back at 2 now. Sudo helped me with my avatar initially and after playing around with different looks I settled on this pic of an Alfa show car grille.
  19. Ghostbusters?????? Mike, Mike, Mike... ALL I SAID was that another(heteros) county was heard from and that the version varies...hardly slavering adoration of HCW... methinks Mike doth protest TOO, TOO much....
  20. moved 11 times, 71-88(last actual assignment as kork, did not go to assignment, went somewhere else instead) not to mention numerous in-city moves and uncountable number of times moving someone else...whole nother topic, I know...
  21. well, well, well...another county heard from. The version varies a tad... nice work, Oak...spot on. ;)-->
  22. I only knew cuz he had more problems the next year when I was on staff at hq and the 2nd kork was back at hq like the 1rst kork was the year before. I don't think it was widely noised abroad...
  23. no, Jim -- good ole T** B****p, 2nd kork guy. This was ministry year 75/76 when 1rst kork went back to hq after 3 years on field.
  24. maybe 74 -- same time as CF&S and some others by various folks. or early 75. Saw all the new ones my WOW year 74/75
  25. Galen, your video may say something on the order of "copyright 1976" or some such other, I am not sure...but all the tape and film and video were the one filmed in late '67 and released in '68. Brilcream and skinny black ties, etc. A few things were removed; the section on "born-again of the wrong seed" (freaking out students in the prison outreach who thought they had commited said "unforgiveable sin") and a further exposition of scripture build-up with the handling of "The Day Jesus Christ Died". other than that, class remained the same til it was pulled for lcm's "effort". PFAL 77 was to be an update; it was videoed and all but vp thought the 67 class was superior and the footage of 77 was promptly never seen again...even though it was discussed as "grad material". Never happened, AFAIK....
