  1. To someone who's made available his phone number, he's probably expecting telephone calls from real people. You're probably nothing more to him than anonymous internet cyber characters until you pick up that phone. Be real. Call him up. You're not afraid are you?
  2. I would go a step further and suggest that if anyone wants to engage him in a dialogue, call him on the telephone. He made that available so what's stopping some of you? Here's a chance for you to give JAL a piece of your mind, dang it! Get some guts for a change.

    Dear Abby

Dear Abby, I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs... the phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them." I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive, although I can hear a car driving off, as if she has gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi? I once picked her cell phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her. Anyway, I have never broached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her. I decided I was going to park my Harley Davidson next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she comes home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my Harley, that I noticed that the rocker boxes on my engine seem to be leaking a little oil. Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer? Thanks, Biker Bob
  4. Never thought about how wierd it is. You are not emotionally scarred are you? :)
  5. true enough but still, God has communicated his word through flawed human beings. I think it's a lot bigger than human comprehension.
  6. My book says it was copyright in 1985. Gifts of the Spirit by B.G. Leonard was copyright-registered in 1966.
  7. I don't believe that at all. But, living in this world exposed to evil, there's going to be sin, there's going to be sickness, there's going to be suffering and death. I certainly wouldn't say I understand everything about the way God allows all this to happen; but, I have seen demonstrated that his Word has been communicated through people who have sinned. In fact, we wouldn't have the word at all without men and women who have sinned. Don't know why that seems so difficult for some to accept.
  8. Thanks for mentioning this LG. You and Linda have given reasonable facts supporting the conclusion that VP's ocular melanoma came from those original PFAL lights. Also heard what Evan said that VP said once that those strong lights cost him is eye.
  9. Yes indeed, that was the option that was there from God and thousands of folks benefitted from it, even though a flawed human being communicated it. Yes, God was aware. He also knew that King Solomon was headed toward some of the most vile idolatrous behavior imaginable after he received Proverbs. Yet, God had Solomon write Proverbs, for those of us who believe it. God's love and grace is so big that he communicates his Word through sinners like us.
  10. Yes he's my cat Woody. He wishes everyone a happy new year.
  11. I'm not answering any trick questions. :)
  12. WOW what an easy question. :) God's Word is truth and that's where VP got it from. Jhn 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. -and- 1Ki 17:24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou [art] a man of God, [and] that the word of the LORD in thy mouth [is] truth.
  13. Ok all you wizards consider this: Excerpted from "Gifts of the Spirit" Rev. B.G. Leonard p. 33
  14. OK Coolwaters, ya got me. I know nothing about Tamar. Please share the story of Tamar.
  15. Every major truth of significant proportions that is set forth in the gospels is adequately covered in the epistles so I really don't know what your beef is.
  16. This is not accurate. TWI did not teach an eschewing of the gospels. What kind of stinking horse manure are you trying to communicate now? The foundational premise of your argument is wrong, therefore what follows will be erroneous and fall under evil surmisings. So what else is new? BTW I think the greatest truth Jesus taught in the gospels is the first and great commandment, which was wonderfully and bountifully expounded upon in Paul's writings, which truth was and is the foundation of all the major truths in the epistles.
  17. Just because YOU eschewed the gospels and missed great truths from there and the old testament, doesn't mean everyone else did. Twi taught tremendous truths from the old testament and gospels. Did you burn all your twi materials so you can't read them again? But I agree with Mark's explanation of our great zeal of the epistles. Has to do with the 7 administrations and what was written "to" the church.
  18. Depends on the individual. I don't see this as a "one-size-fit-all" occurrence. But, I do like the terminology that it was "allowed" by the recipient. Some of us never tolerated any micro-management or tolerated it at different times. At times I did, at times I didn't. Oh yes they do. Just try to go in and change any mainstream church's doctrines or practice. Really try. They will ask you to leave, and if you push it, you'll be accused of heresy.
