Based solely on the anecdotal evidence presented on GSC, it had to have been incredibly high.

Maybe VP should have gotten one of THESE after he wrecked the Twig Hopper.

Back to the brain tumor thing. Must have been kept really hush-hush if even the Cafe patrons were unaware.

No. At least, not when I inquired some time ago.

In a moment immortalized in the 1971 Life magazine article "The Groovy Christians of Rye" (featuring a photograph of Skedgell, eyes bright with wonder), The Way's founder, "The Doctor" Victor Wierwille, rode into Skedgell's town on a motorcycle, bringing a message of enlightenment that ensnared the girl with wild hopes and false promises." Source: http://krieger.jhu.edu/magazine/f08/a3.html Does his eye seem "burned out" in that photo, taken 3 or 4 years post-filming of PLAF (The Wonder Class)?

I'm thinking it was something like a year, year and a half. Of course, he actually walked around with two eyes. (It's just that one of them was prosthetic.) He even took the artificial one out and passed it around at a Corps meeting. But, of course, the official company line about his eye was that he burned it out under the bright studio lights while filming PLAF (The Wonder Class). He was fond of saying, "I gave my eye for The Word! What have you given?"

I had been involved with The Way for several years before I ever heard Corps students carrying on about how many crowns they would get and what room they would be in and so forth. It all seemed rather juvenile to me. I mean, you either gave of yourself because it was your desire to do so (misguided as it may have been) or you didn't. Maybe that was partly because I was already an adult when I first got involved. I'm not sure.

In my mind, that makes it even more intriguing they would dodge the issue.

When i was a little tyke, my Grandpa told me you could catch a Sparrow by putting salt on its tail. You see, it makes it too heavy to fly and thus you can snatch it.

Must be frustrating for LCM to find out he's been passed over for this great position.

From what I remember, I don't think the Israelites had any definitive belief regarding the afterlife. There is certainly very little information on the matter in the O.T. books that comprise The Torah. The real emphasis is placed on what one accomplishes in this present lifetime here on earth.

VeePee "called them out". :biglaugh:

Did the Israelites believe in an afterlife?
