I'm very comfortable with Internet Explorer. I'm sure that there are those out there who think that Mozilla is far superior. You can probably skip this thread. Anyway, as well as the Favorites that drop down when I have IE open, I also have a desktop folder containing them. For some reason, most of the desktop shortcuts now open with Mozilla Firefox. We have had Mozilla on the computer for some time (my wife likes it), but it's only today that this new default condition has appeared. Interestingly, not ALL the shortcuts go to Mozilla. GS, for instance, is still IE. How can I reset the desktop shortcuts to IE? George

From when? Mandatory evacuation orders for Galveston's West End were given on Wednesday (along with coastal Brazoria County and other areas). And it was apparent that Ike was headed to somewhere on the Texas coast as early as Monday. Galveston was hit harder than earlier expected, but if you live on the coast and a hurricane is coming, don't wait for the government to drag you out of your home! If I still lived in Jones Creek, I'd have been out on Wednesday. I realize that there may have been extenuating circumstances that kept some people in place, but anyone who wanted to evacuate had plenty of time and warning. George

Don't know the show yet, but you can find quotes in a number of places, IMDb and TV.com to name two. If you google "(name of show)" and "quotes" you can usually find some. George

Copied from the ex10 thread: The Countess and I lost power on Friday night. It was just restored this afternoon. Except for some fence damage, we came through unscathed. Gas and water remained on, so we could cook and shower. We've gotten to know our new neighbors quite well, with little mini-cookouts together each of the last three evenings. Local ice drops kept us from losing all our food, though we did have to pitch some. The cold front that moved through two nights ago has made living MUCH more bearable. (I'm sure ex10 will agree.) Phone and internet (obviously) are now on, and all I'm missing is satellite TV. (Our dish is still there, but it's misaligned.) We visited our old neighborhood near the coast yesterday. Not much damage, but no power, water, or gas. Considering the tragedy it could have been, the inconvienience hasn't been all that bad. George

Believe me, I'm really no expert on hymns. There were about 20 years as a Catholic, and then 20 in TWI. If it's not in "Sing Along the Way" or a basic Catholic songbook, I don't know it. George

WD, You are accusing, in a public forum, several posters of lying about VPW and others. Unless you have PROOF that they are lying, I would say that your accusations are libelous (at least by your own standards for libel). George
